A & P Food Store

Terrible produce section. Not much available and what's there doesn't look too great. I've been to a few A&P in the area and they all seem to have this problem.

The selection throughout the rest of the store isn't that great. Most of your basic commercial brands, but not much for generic store brand or health food options. You wind up paying more than you have to for mediocre stuff. I left feeling like I needed more groceries than when I went in.

My advice: Head to ShopRite up the road for a little more variety and a little better prices.

There isn't a single time I walk in here that someone isn't reaching into the salad bar with their bare hands and eating straight from the bar

Although I don't know too much about this store, I do know one thing. It's quite large for the brand. It's a bit more upbeat than the one I experienced many years ago. Although it's a bit far to go to get to my nearest location, I'd go back there again, if I was ever in the area. The store is quite clean(although the bathroom stalls were a bit on the olden-side and a little marked up from a little bit of graffiti.)

The store is clean and large. Great selection of everything. Staff is very nice.
The shoppers on the other hand are rude, nasty, hateful.

I have been going here for years and have always found the size to be a bit overwhelming, but the selection pretty good. More recently, they have been making a lot of mistakes, but if you catch it at the cashier it is corrected pretty easily. But, yesterday, my husband bought some fresh produce and the cashier (who must've been new) rang up several items wrong. Instead of charging "per pound" or "per bunch" she multiplied the price by the number of items. We were overcharged about $18 which we felt was deserving of a phone call. The manager asked us to bring the receipt and she would credit our account. When I returned with the receipt, the customer service representative was SO RUDE and DISMISSIVE and said "no those pears and beets are per item." When I asked her to come with me to look at the sign, her response was, "I'm going to kill that Larry" [produce mgr?] She made two mistakes refunding my credit card. She finally refunded my money with an attitude like she was doing me a favor. I can handle someone making a mistake and being polite about it, but I can't handle multiple mistakes and RUDENESS!!!!!!! A&P, you LOST A VERY GOOD CUSTOMER!!! Hope Shop Rite is a better experience because I will never go here again!
