We recently rented an rv from A&M and could not have been happier with the experience from start to finish. I called when they opened the morning we were to pick up our rv and it was already waiting for us. They don't have pick up service since they are closed Sunday, but it was only about a 7 dollar cab fare from downtown anchorage.
We met Katie when we got there and she completed the paperwork, showed us the unit, and we were on our way. We own a travel trailer so I didn't need a lot of orientation, but Katie made sure we had no questions before we left.
The 31 foot unit had 26000 miles, but was in excellent shape. We had no mechanical problems in our two week trip. Katie provides her cell number so there is always someone to get in touch with if you do run into problems. Our damage deposit was returned within a week with no nit picky issues you sometimes run into with rental places.
IF you tent an rv in Alaska pay attention to your fuel. We had no problems, but it can be a long haul, like over 100 miles at times, between gas stations. Fuel prices rose the further you got from Anchorage. It was actually less on Anchorage than we pay in Pennsylvania and the most we paid was 3.24 a gallon in Valdez.
I think five stars is the most you can give, but I give A&M six. If you need an rv in Anchorage use them

We recently visited Alaska for the first time, and it was also our first RV experience. On TripAdvisor, folks generally recommended the two "big" RV rental places - ABC and Great American Holidays - but since I was renting a bit late, I couldn't get the size I wanted from them. But I have to say that we had an excellent experience from A&M.
I had some questions between my original booking and when we arrived. Every time, Katie answered my emails quickly and completely. Everything at pick-up went as she promised. During the actual contract signing, it was "easy" - no boring video, no hard sell on pre-paid gas/propane (they even pointed out the nearest and cheapest place to fill up), no hard sell on additional insurance. No fuss, no muss. She walked us through the operation of the RV, answered our newbie questions, and we were off.
Katie also provided her cell in case of emergency (not needed, thankfully)
Technically, they're not open Sundays, but when we dropped off, she was there - I guess to help new incoming folks. About a $30 UberXL ride back to the airport
The RV itself was clean/comfortable and everything worked well. The non-stick pans seemed brand new and worked very well - which is rare in any VRBO or Airbnb. Damage deposit was returned promptly w/o any prompting/asking.
Can't wait to return to Alaska and would absolutely rent from A&M again. All the administrative stuff was "easy" and the RV was great.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Arlene L.Castro Valley, CA012Jun 28, 2016
Highly recommend A & M! We just completed a trip with one of their mid-sized RV's and were quite pleased with the entire experience. Very helpful staff and the vehicles were very clean and well maintained ( okay, we were lucky enough to get a brand new one :) ).
They were very accommodating with transport from the airport rental car office ( we visited Anchorage a few days prior to RVing ) and were able to stay at the RV center overnite since we needed to taxi out early to the train depot prior to the office opening in the AM. Katie was very accommodating via phone for any questions during our travels. Great experience for the first time RV rental!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria A.GA, GA216236391Jun 28, 2016
This place holds the crappiest customer service in the planet. In fact it's non existent. Let's start with: I have called them multiple times and I never get a call back. Then I attempt to go to their showroom, well there was a person, possibly a receptionist at the entrance, I did not get a hello a hi a wave of a hand, not even a middle finger. I was in the showroom for possibly 30-40 minutes, I even looked for a human being... Nothing, the person I had seen had vanished without saying a peep. I rather get a tent and go camping that even attempting to do business from these people.

We rented an RV from A & M for 21 days in Aug-Sept 2017 and were extremely satisfied with the beautiful new RV and with the customer service provided by Katie and everyone at A & M. We had a great time exploring Alaska in this RV and are looking forward to returning and doing it all over again in 2022! We wouldn't rent an RV anywhere else! Our unit was well stocked, though we did purchase a few extra items (few extra towels, washcloths, etc due to our length of stay) and a few convenience items we wanted (small rug to wipe our feet on at the door, pizza pan and cutter, etc). We left all of those items behind, so hopefully someone else got to use them. Katie was very helpful throughout the process, from reservation to check in and check out. It was our 2nd trip to AK (and 1st time to rent an RV) but my research paid off when I decided to go with A& M. It was a great choice! We can't wait to come back and do it all over again!

First and foremost, A&M rv rentals went above and beyond in order to find an RV to fit my family of 8. The 31' was enough room that everyone was comfortable. The RV had very comfortable pillows, sheets and several blankets. There are towels and wash rags. The kitchen was stocked all the cooking materials needed. We cooked every morning in the RV kitchen which was large enough to serve a breakfast of 8. The RV got amazing gas mileage as well. The owners of A&M are willing to go the extra mile to ensure the best possible vacation a family can have. Look no further if you are considering going on an Alaskan adventure.

Rented an RV from A&M in June 2015. Had done some research and this one received some good reviews. SO glad we used them. The RV was perfect and VERY clean. They got the RV ready for us an hour ahead of time so we could get on the road. Had a minor issue with an appliance and they accommodated us right away. They picked us up and also dropped us at the airport which was so convenient. The staff is really nice and we enjoyed working with them.

We rented an RV for 2 weeks in June 2014. The RV was clean and worked well for the entire trip. A&M provided to and from airport service in Anchorage, AK. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. There were a couple of minor issues: a drawer broke and one of the screens fell off. I explained these when we returned the motorhome and had no extra charges. I recommend A&M RV!

Our experience with A&M was outstanding in every way. Katie was fabulous to work with. She was very thorough in reviewing the motorhome with us, and in answering our many questions. When we got to A&M the motorhome was sparkling clean and all ready to go. We felt well taken care of aa customers, and would definitely rent from this company again.

RV's are a great way to go when exploring Alaska in the summer. A&M provided good service and new, clean RV's. Units are minimally equipped when it comes to dishes, towels, soap and paper products. Also, no TV connection cable provided so make sure the RV park has one. No flexibility on return time (9 am) so plan accordingly!
