Supercuts

I am staying in Syracuse for a week and then going back to where I live in Florida so I thought I would check out the local Supercuts for a haircut. I was lucky to come in right before they got a huge rush of people and I got Melanie as my hairdresser. I could tell right away that Melanie is one of those, unfortunately rare, people who takes pride in her work...it's more than just a job for her. Everything she did from start to finish from color selection to making sure I was comfortable was spot on, and we had great conversation too. I was actually sad to think I probably won't be able to come back because I don't live here.
As I left I told her I would put in a good word for her, so I logged in to do this review. I had a great experience

This is what I got when I asked for a shoulder length haircut that would be long enough for a pony tail when curly in it's natural state. I didn't think I had to specify I also wanted it to be symmetrical. It's inches too short in front! And I can't even even it out for fear it'll get even shorter. Oh, and she timed this cut. 7 minutes.

I don't even know what to say, photos should speak for themselves. I showed the stylist the photo of what haircut I wanted for my son, my sons hair was pretty long and was almost in his eyes. She barely looked at the photo, and I repeated myself "I really need you to take a good look at this haircut. I want my sons bangs to be just above his eyebrows, I don't want it really short"........Hannah even went on to say that I didn't need to keep the photo open, she doesn't need to look at it. When the cut was supposedly finished, I said " the cut is too blunt, it looks like Jim Carey "Dumb and Dumber", I want it textured." So she got another stylist, Lynn, to come over and show her how to texture cut. Meanwhile my sons hair is getting shorter and shorter, and ended up more uneven. I just had to have them stop. I specifically wanted to keep his hair longer because it's winter out! His haircut looks terrible! I can't believe I paid for this cut, and even tipped! And Supercuts, please don't blame it on my son, he was sitting still enough to get a good cut, but your stylists just don't know how! And that's putting it nicely.

It's now the day after. I'm in tears just looking at my poor sons horrible hack job hair cut, I can't even fix it with product. Now he is stuck looking like this in photos until it grows out!!!

Supercuts to the rescue!

I've flown with aerosol products in my checked luggage many times before, no problem. Well, my Sexy Hair brand dry shampoo suffered a premature fate during a recent cross country flight to Syracuse. Instead of a nice strong powdery spray the can produced nothing but sputtering liquid upon touchdown in Upstate NY.

(My recent obsession with dry shampoo is no secret; suddenly not having dry shampoo on-hand during vacation was a hair emergency.)

Stumbled upon this Supercuts location by accident--my boyfriend and I had driven to the forlorn little plaza to visit the liquor store next door for liquid boating provisions--and thought it would be worthwhile to check out the merchandise. Supercuts didn't just have Big Sexy Hair Dry Shampoo; they had it on sale for buy-1-can-at-regular-price-get-a-second-for-$3. Score!

Customer service left a lot to be desired, but whatever. Also unfortunate was the fact that the store had just 3 cans of dry shampoo left; I would certainly have bought more at that awesome sale price given the opportunity.

I saved about $14 and left Supercuts very, very happy a couple Sundays ago.

I took my five year old for his first (non relative) haircut to supercuts and I was so so very happy with our experience there!

I had tried to cut my sons hair on my own (because I have mini nightmares about angry stylists/child melt down/shear accidents) and after trying to shape the hair around his ear I thought "yeah, I better just stop now before I make him look too goofy." And off we went to supercuts RIGHT at 8am when they opened.

That was the first thing that impressed me, the stylist Morgan was very nice. I was expecting grumpy stylists that early! She greeted us and was so sweet to my son. He was a bit nervous but she made him feel comfortable and was so friendly. She chatted him (he likes to chat-a lot, lol) and cut his hair perfectly!

To top it all off she gave me a little memory souvenir (little certificate and lock of his hair. He's not a baby (we'll he's my baby) but it was still a first for us!) and the haircut was only $11!! It was NOT the nightmare I was expecting! Yay!

I brought my 3 year old daughter to get her long hair cut short. Just wanted a shoulder length bob but the lady was obviously nervous to cut her hair short (my daughter sits still and was excited for short hair). Her hair is very uneven-the right side is more than an inch longer than the left and all along the back is it choppy. I have to bring her somewhere else now to fix it. Since she didn't dry her hair we didn't notice until we got home.

Called ahead and made an appointment for 2:15 it is now close to 3 pm and I am still waiting. Three people cut in front of me and one kid takes forever for his haircut.

Not just another supercuts. This location saved me from a month of living with a bad haircut. I'm super particular about my hair cuts and they passed with flying colors.
