Do they take reservations for lunch?

I'm sure they would take reservations for lunch , but they are usually not that crowded for lunch as opposed to dinner.. if your party is more than 6 , I'd make reservations to be on the safe side !

Fantastic place, came here with a group from work. Ambience was very nice the noise level was decent and able to have a conversation and weren't yelling at each other. One person said their steak was a little closer to medium than mid-rare but that could be an individual preference.
Everyone commented that seasoning and taste for their order was spot on which was really solid.
We were a table of 6 and they nailed all of our orders.
I was hoping for a prime rib on the menu but unfortunately that was a no (I honestly enjoyed the Ny strip just fine).
I would tell anyone this if you go you need to try the banana pudding pie.
I'm not a banana dessert kind of person but this was clearly the exception it was arguably life changing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bob Z.Grayslake, IL262921229Apr 19, 20241 check-in
Had a business dinner.
Sat fairly quickly on a busy night. Attentive server without hovering and we didn't feel rushed. Old fashioned wasn't the best, it wasn't mixed, stirred etc. so not very balanced. But the food was awesome. Caesar salad was huge, perfectly cooked steak, ribs were great. We had the berry crisp for dessert. Very good.
Good location.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1533373081Jan 29, 2024
My fiance and I had dinner here during the weekend and decided to take advantage of Wildfire participating in restaurant week. It's a set menu that has you choose a soup or salad, an entree, a side and dessert. For $59 this is a great deal since their steaks (with a side) are usually $50+. You're basically getting a starter and dessert for free!
This is a large location, can easily fit up to 300+ guests with the numerous amount of rooms they have. The vibes are of an old school steak house, cozy, comfortable with dim lighting.
I'm a frequent diner here and the service has consistently been top notch. Staff members starting from the host down to the server are friendly, kind and helpful. Dinner took about an hour and 45 mins and everything was timed out well.
The quality of Wildfire's steaks are excellent and both our entrees were cooked perfectly (medium). Juicy and full of flavor, you can't go wrong with steak from here. I'm a big fan of their lemon broccoli and mashed potatoes. Wildfire just does everything right!Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - Elliott L.Milwaukee, WI04347May 15, 2024
Great foods. There a lots of high quality options to choose and everything is good. The staff knows the menu and the wait is low. The place feels nice and I would go back.

Schaumburg Wildfire is one of my favorite restaurants. Why? Excellent quality meats cooked exceptionally well, delicious sides like the au gratin potatoes. The calamari appetizer is a super starter served piping hot and never greasy. The warm bread with whipped butter to go with their salads or soup is perfect. Servers are always so friendly. Elizabeth was very personable and made our meal delightful.
This visit we tried the Tuesday special which was the Turkey plate. Generously portioned and everything tasted homemade just like at home but better. The turkey is spit roasted which makes it soo good! Be sure to ask for xtra gravy as they make it so full of flavor! The stuffing was chock full of carrots and celery but light and fluffy. The seasonal pumpkin pie was the perfect ending. They had a nice cream layer and whole candied pecans on the top.
For a place known for their steaks, the turkey plate was amazing. We'll be back again for this Tuesday special for sure!!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Anne B.Chicago, IL0204May 11, 2024
Service was good, calamari and crab cake were good. Chopped salad was the worst salad I ever had and hope their head chef check on it, I would say 50% of salad was tortilla chips and 20% of it blue cheese. Sadly I had hard time to find actual lettuce and other ingredients in that mound of unappealing big bowl of mess.

Service was fine. Food was ok. Busy Saturday night made things seem slower. Since it was busy not a lot of space to walk through and conversation were hard to hear due to the capacity of space. Free parking clean bathrooms.

Lousy service. Over priced entries and no imagination for ales. They tack on a "Restaurant Sur Charge" which I deducted from the tip. Doesn't seem fair to customers or servers. Food was actually pretty good. I had a greens salad with grilled salmon for an additional $11. Two tv's in the bar area were tuned to minor league baseball (WHAT?) and NHL when NBA playoffs were available live. ? Staff, except my server, couldn't care less. My advice, go somewhere else.

EPIC save, Wildfire!
Short story (you can read my review on Shaw's if you care to search for it), my partner an I decided to go out for Easter, but we were just at Wildfire Oakbrook. We hadn't been to Shaw's Crab House in a few months and chose the Schaumberg location. She made reservations on Friday evening for 5 pm Easter Sunday. We arrive, get seated (in the bar area), and proceed to be ignored for 15 solid minutes. Empty table, empty water glasses, NOBODY serving us. It was bizarre as we had MANY servers and front-of-the-house employees walking past us as we sat on the main path to the kitchen. Nobody even looked at us.
It was so uncomfortable. Minutes are going by, we're getting angry. As a couple we start arguing about now where are we going to go? Would we even get in during Easter dinner at any nice restaurant. Ignored, hungry, arguing, and frustrated is NOT what you were looking forward to for Easter!
At the 15-minute mark, we took out our phones and started calling places. We all but dismissed Wildfire as it's ALWAYS busy. We took a chance and called. The person who answered said that they were no longer taking walk-ins but had high tops in the bar with full menu service and she could see that they still had 4 or 5 high tops open. Being 3 minutes away, we left Shaw's and immediately drove over to Wildfire.
Upon entering we were greeted warmly, "welcome in. How are you doing this evening?" I must have answered enthusiastically because the hostess looked interested in the story. I told her I was the one who just called and was told about the "no walk-ins, but open high top" option. I then told her the abbreviated Shaw's story. She spoke over her shoulder to the Manager on Duty (who heard the story) about accepting us as walk-ins. He immediately approved and sat us within minutes in the dining room! We're impressed and super thankful!
Menu's handed to us, water delivered seconds later, server arrives 30 seconds after that and takes our cocktail order. My partner now grinning ear to ear! But wait, I can top that! The server sees her gluten free menu and asks if she'd like GF dinner rolls. ABSOLUTELY! Her dinner rolls arrive 4 minutes later, warm, and at just the right crispiness level (she likes a good crunch). We then proceed to "Jon Taffer" (look him up) Shaw's for a solid 10 minutes while feeling really good we're at Wildfire's, getting great service, and getting great food for the SECOND time that week! The moon and stars are realigning.
But wait, I can top that! My sweet girl loves quality fish. Shaw's was chosen because it's has a great selection of fish...but only one dish on the menu noted as GF - walleye. Not her favorite. Our server at Wildfire, knowing the GF preference, tells us that they can prepare most dishes GF but will still check with the chef to make sure. One thing a GF person loves - SELECTION! I can see the hearts in her eyes! The night had been saved in a way that I could not resist writing a review about (something I do not like doing)!
But wait, I can top that! I promise this is the last one. My girl is very petite, but eats a good portion when served to-die-for food. Her dinner, with lemon butter sauce, was enjoyed with little conversation. She was in heaven! After the main dinner concluded, when shown the dessert menu and asked if she'd like something (the GF Chocolate Cake), she really wanted to but was feeling full and satisfied. Shortly after, the to go boxes and take-home bag arrive to collect the remaining scraps (the bison meatball leftovers make an unbelievable scratch bolognaise sauce for two!), when our server Jorge gives her a small serving of GF chocolate cake ON-THE-HOUSE! You had us at water and you give her dessert to take home and eat when she's not so full?! This is customer-forever magic!
Tell me, could you have asked for anything more epic of an evening save?! I mean the Michael Jordan of slam dunks! The crazy part is that this is repeated every day of the week at Wildfire. This is 'normal' to them. No friends, it's the highest level of customer satisfaction! Everyone complains about the loss of service and the lowering of expectations after COVID. Wildfire does not subscribe to any of that. Shaw's sat us in the bar while Wildfire is setting the bar. That's the difference here.
As a parting gift from Shaw's, they later cancelled our reservation on open table. We obviously get notified via the app. One last sharp and insulting reminder of how our Easter dinner started, AND how it was saved. A story I've already repeated 10 times at work just today. "How was your Easter? Have I got a story for you!"
Lastly, I do want to give Wildfire Oakbrook HUGE props also. We don't go to the Schaumberg location all that often (mainly for business lunches/dinners). Oakbrook is our go to. Many thanks to that team (especially Margi) for too many fabulous dinners!
Wildfire's water brought me in, but everything else will keep bringing me back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lynn S.Schaumburg, IL0181May 14, 2024Updated review
My family and I had an excellent experience at Wildfire celebrating Mother's Day on Monday. We love dining in the lounge area because it's cozy and quieter, and we had a corner booth with plenty of space. Vanessa was our server and was really nice and super attentive. Our food was delicious, and three of us had the coconut shrimp which I highly recommend. The goat cheese appetizer was also amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 19, 2022Previous reviewAwful experience with a server (Erick) who was in a bad mood and rushed us throughout our meal. We had barely gotten our drinks when he told us the kitchen was closing at 8:00 so we needed to order. (It was only 7:10.) We ordered an appetizer and entree but made it clear we wanted them spaced but the entree almost immediately followed the appetizer. We sent the entree back which really upset him because he was obviously in a hurry to go home. On top of it all, he ran my credit card twice which I had to get sorted out with Wildfire. They fixed it but weren't real apologetic about our dining experience. Also, Wildfire now charges an extra 3% "processing fee" on every check now, which they'll only remove if you ask.
