Second Hand Rose

This is the best store ever. I need more merchandise so we can apply everything to our store price. Love dealing with people.

The location in Pelham was so much better. This store is so overpriced, one can purchase any item in the store on EBAY, Poshmark, or any other online resale site.

They are so much worse than places like Style Encore and Clotheshorse.

This is definitely not a thrift store, but it does have some similar qualities. It is more like a high end consignment shop.

After I grabbed coffee this morning at Cala, I wanted to see what was around the area for me to explore. Realizing that Second Hand Rose was about a four minute walk I decided why not?

Second Hand Rose has been on my check out list for some time, but my chance to check it out had not appeared until this morning. The shop looks small from the outside, but when you walk in there is so much to offer. When you first come in you notice so many different racks of all spring and summer clothing. They are categorized by size and by color. Each of the racks has a number at the top for the various sizes.

Initially I was just coming in to look around, but then I realized, hey I am heading to Florida next week, let me see if I can find some clothing to wear while I am there. I looked around on some of the racks to see if anything caught my eye. There was some nice shirts and some nice shorts and thing, but nothing really screamed ANGIE. I did wind up picking up a pair of earrings.

When I was paying for the earrings, I decided to chat with the sales woman there. Her name was Debbie. Vey kind little old lady had to be in her late forties or early fifties. Very kind non the less. She gave me the sheet for me to become a rewards member with them.

Before I left today, I asked her how their intake worked. Debbie explained that they take things in seasonally. You can come and bring in a whole bunch of clothing, but they have to be on hangers. If the items are in season (right now spring and summer) they will take the clothes after looking them over. Once you leave, they will give you a call when the items you brought in have sold and you can come back and collect your earnings.

I loved my experience here. The people are nice. The items are good quality. If you have time to check out the entire store as a whole, you might just find that little gem. Do yourself a favor. Stop in or drop something off, you might get a good bargain either way.

I found a sweater that I wanted to try on, but the clerk was too busy at the computer to even look up. I wanted to ask where a dressing room was located. I was the only customer in the store. Im not sure if she knew I was in the store because she never said one word to me. I will not return.

There is high value, new and nearly new inventory at affordable prices. The staff is highly knowledgeable and they are good businesswoman. I'd say it's the best consignment store in Birmingham.

Fabulous selection! Well laid out store and great customer service and prices! Definitely worth a visit!

I'm visiting from California and I was immediately greeted by southern charm when I walked into the store! I stumbled upon this store through Yelp. The phrase "Louis Vuitton" grabbed my attention from a previous reviewer. ;-) I'm an authentic LV collector and reseller, so I will venture to any store that carry preloved LV's. The prices are reasonable, some lower than eBay. As for clothes, I found some lovely brand name items, but I've seen cheaper prices at other resale stores. If you want high-end consignment closet pieces, I would recommend taking a browse at this store. Don't expect a huge bargain. Also, they don't carry children or men's clothing.

Came here today to see what I could find. This is a good sized store and there really is a ton of stuff. Pretty well organized but a little haphazard.

The items seemed to be in good shape. They have a large selection of pretty much everything, even formal wear if you are looking for something for a special event. Lots of shoes too.

The store is in a good location off the road so it is easy to pull in and out. Ample parking. Staff was nice and not pushy so I liked that. I was able to browse and look through everything.

My only complaint here is pricing. Everything seemed to be priced too high in my opinion. They had nice stuff but let's face it, it's still used. And unlike other consignment shops where the price drops after the item has been there awhile, the prices here stay the same even though there are different color tags on the item. No wonder they have so much inventory!

I definitely would have picked up a few things if I felt like I was getting a deal but the few things I liked would have cost me over 100 dollars. For me, the whole fun of shopping at these places is to get some great clothes at a great price.

If you don't mind spending the money, they have a good selection of items and you should have no trouble finding a few things here to add to your wardrobe.

Don't waste your time here.
The prices are absolutely ridiculous and honestly they don't really have a lot to select from.
I've been in here a few times, giving it a few different chances and every single time I maybe found 1 thing that I liked but it was too over priced.
They only accept top notch brands as you can see from browsing their racks, but top notch or not, most of their clothing is just plain tacky or outright ugly.

Old lady clothes and prices are outrageous. Waste of time. Second hand stuff should be cheaper than new stuff!
