Forno is my favorite restaurant. We celebrate every special occasion here and honestly I'm pretty much always craving it.
They have the best, melt in your mouth, crispy gnocchi I have ever had. And the truffle cream corn is to DIE for. The focaccia should not be skipped as well.
The atmosphere inside is a little cramped, but it's worth it for the absolutely amazing food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Excellent all around. Very good service, excellent food, and great ambiance.
For appetizers we shared the meatballs and the tripe. The flavors on the tripe appetizer were sublime. The meatballs were very good as well. For dinner, I got the Atlantic cod. It was perfectly cooked -- nice and crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. The eggplant parmasen was delicious, although a bit on the heavy side
For dessert, we shared the creme brulee. Again excellent. A wonderful evening -- we will definitely return the next time we are in town.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We have been going to Forno for years and this is my first review on Yelp. We had a reservation for four at 7:15pm on a Saturday night at a high top in the bar area, and arrived exactly on time. Like every other time we have gone, our table was still occupied by other guests when we arrived. And if you have ever been, you know that the place is small and there is absolutely no room in the foyer to wait. After getting two emails and a text reminding me of our reservation, it is frustrating that we still had to wait 16 minutes for our table while the bartender completely ignored that we were standing right by the bar and didn't ask if we would like a drink. I had to be more assertive than I normally would to get his attention to get us some wine. When we were seated, it took a good 15 minutes before that same bartender came over to acknowledge us.
After that, the evening went smoothly. Our server Liz was great. We started with the Tonne e Fagioli. It has been on there menu for forever, and is a unique presentation of yellow fin tuna on beans. It does have a fennel note, which I love, but it is not for everyone. And I wish the beans were cooked just a teensy bit more. The artichoke soup was very good, but came to our table cold. I wanted to send it back to get heated, but my wife didn't want to complain. The house made focaccia was excellent, as were all of the bruschetta options.
For our mains, two of us ordered pizza. The Salsiccia E Cipolla (sausage, caramelized onion, mozzarella) was loved by my friend, and the Elena (black truffle, gorgonzola, mozzarella and arugula) was also liked, but we thought it needed a generous drizzle of EVOO over the top and didn't have much truffle flavor at all. The Atlantic Cod dish was wonderful, and the Pork Chop Milanese was huge and cooked perfectly. The cauliflower on top was fantastic.
If Forno could just up their service game more and pay attention to the little details (like hot soup), I would give it 5 stars for a casual Italian place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Forno in Montgomery has such a cozy and intimate vibe that truly makes you feel like you're at a little Italian winery. Whether you sit at a table or the bar overlooking the large stone pizza oven, you'll feel at home. The service was impeccable from the second we walked in the door, and then there's the food...
Oh my goodness the food. Every bite perfect. Fresh bread, pasta with the masteful al dente cooking, and lots of cheesy goodness.
What we ordered:
1 Gnocchi - served with a lick-the-bowl-clean leek-parmigiano fondue and topped with speck and parm
2 Tagliatelle Bolognese - served with a tender beef and veal sauce. Perfect chew on the noodkes
3 Atlantic Cod - thick cut cod nicely seared with pesto and peperonata
4 @allezbakery bread basket
5 Cauliflower Gratin - a fantastically cheesy baked side "for the table" that I truly wanted all for myselfHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 20, 2023
Forno is one of my favorite Italian restaurants I've ever been to! Every time I'm in Cincinnati I make it a priority to go here.
The pizza tastes so similar to the pizza I had in Italy. I am typically not a big pizza lover, but this pizza is truly incredible to me. My favorite is the bolognese. I also typically don't order this dish, but after hearing how amazing it was from friends I have ordered it every time now. This is a must try spot- make a reservation! Service is also always excellent, and I love the restaurant atmosphere.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Forno is incredible!! Their food (especially that bolognese!!) is top notch. We will go here for the occasional date night or anniversary and we always have a wonderful time. I've asked for a drink to be ready where we're seated for my husband and if it's not there already, it is presented shortly after we are seated. The team at Forno is always so friendly and considerate, no matter how busy it can become. One of my absolute FAVORITE Italian restaurants in the area and we recommend everyone to try it.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant I've ever been to. The seating is cozy, the service is amazing, personable, and fast, and the menu is phenomenal. You can't go wrong with ordering anything here. Working up the nerve to someday try the tripe !
I see a lot of people complaining about the seating being too congested. It is a smaller dining area, but as someone with anxiety it's still not too much for me. Just because it's not an American diner with wall-to-wall booths does not mean the setup is bad. I welcome the opportunity to say hello or lend a friendly smile to my table-neighbor! Nothing but good vibes and smiles all around every time.
I also see people complaining about wait-times on being served and wait-times to be seated. I've came here both during busy dinner rushes and when there was only one other table seated. I have made a reservation every time and have never had a wait. My service has always been exceptionally fast, waiting less than an hour before dessert is already served.
My ending note will be that the To-Go bags are sturdy and reusable!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jen M.Lexington, KY451981018Mar 25, 2023
We stopped in at Forno, which was currently reservation, only, and they found a seat for us. We were looking for a glass of wine and appetizer, while we searched for a winery to go to.
The Pino Noir and Cabernet was delicious and so was the Tripe and Yellow Pepper Soup.
Our server, Michelle R, was amazing. She brought over a wine sommelier, Lisa, who detailed out four great winery locations for us.
Because of the awesome service, ambiance, food and wine, we are already discussing going back to Forno soon.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
