My friends and I met at Rootstock Wine Bar on a Saturday at 4pm. It wasn't that busy, so we were able to snag an outdoor table that was fully shaded and a good distance away from the nearest table with guests.

Since it was a warm day, we opted to get a bottle of white wine so that we could drink something chilled. We asked our server for a recommendation, and he suggested we go for New Zealand's Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc for its upfront fruity notes. We came to a general consensus that the wine was enjoyable and what our palates were looking for.

The food was great as well. We referred to our waiter again to help us decide between the Chicken Pesto sandwich or the Proscuitto & Pear sandwich. My boyfriend and I went with his recommendation of Proscuitto and Pear, which did not disappoint. First of all, I don't eat pork, so I asked our server if they could cut the sandwich in half and put all the proscuitto in one of the halves. He said that it wouldn't be an issue and could certainly accommodate the request. The sandwich was excellent largely because of the sweet and flavorful fig jam. My boyfriend confirmed that the fig jam was the highlight of his side of the sandwich too. The meal came with a side salad.

Lastly, customer service was ok. Our server was friendly and helpful, but I didn't find him to be particularly attentive. He forgot my boyfriend's soda. Additionally I thought that the service was really slow. Our sandwich took a while to be made. Then my sister's order of stuffed mushrooms didn't arrive simultaneously with our sandwich although we had placed our food orders at the same time. I was concerned that they may have forgotten her order, but the mushrooms did end up coming out ~7 minutes later.

On a weekend afternoon, you'd think this place would be busy- regardless of COVID. Because hello... what helps us adult get through a pandemic? Alcohol. And cheese plates. lol.

But it wasn't. There was 2 other parties in the building and we were all super far from everyone else not in our party.

The tables were very clean and the staff was so friendly! Made you feel so welcome and taken care of.

We loved having a beer and a quick bite before walking home.

It's the smallest things that make us feel normal now. Thank you!

Don't remember the name of this beer, but I remember it was delicious!

      First time here
No wait time. Seating outside with heat lamp above you. It was nice sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather and people watching.
The server was very nice and friendly.
Maybe it was just me but I just thought it was a little pricey for a glass of 8oz wine. Don't get me wrong the wine was good but the price just threw me off. Other wine bars were more reasonable.

I love coming to Rootstock during the weekends on a warm, sunny day out. There is a lot of area for lounging so it's nice to sit back and relax. We've come here on several occasions while waiting for a table over at HaiDiLao; when we get quoted over 40 minutes, we make our way over to Rootstock. Wine not? (ha!)

I like that you can customize your own charcuterie board and they provide unlimited warm bread at no cost! The bruschetta trio is also delicious. The only two cons I have with Rootstock: they need cornichons to go with their charcuterie boards and to warm their triple cream brie so that it is spreadable!

The service is super friendly. They are attentive at the start and occasionally check up on you when you've been served. Theron is my favorite and is the greatest addition to Rootstock. He is very informative and knows how to recommend wine when you have questions.

I'm glad to have found a local wine spot that I can come to "wine-d" down.

This is a great wine bar with excellent meat & cheese selections as well as dishes/small plates. The ambiance is a good one with comfy lounge seating, Jazz music, and that rustic atmosphere of a winery from Napa.

I came here yesterday afternoon with my sis and we had a great time. My favorite cheese was the Morning Fog cheese spread with prosciutto and fig jam. Everything else was still great tasting but these are my personal favorites. I enjoyed their crisp bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from Rombauer 2017. It made me sleepy for sure but it was a clean tasting white.

Overall, this place is excellent! Our host was fantastic and he's definitely entertaining. I'll have to come back and show my gf!

I'm not that big on wine, but what's Galentine's Day without a glass of bubbly? Sophie N. and I had our G Day on the 14th. We decided to go before 6pm to beat the crowd. Open seating on Valentine's with live band Lavender Fields performing their regular Thursday set. Awesome mix of acoustic covers from Beyoncé, Adele, and more. Receipt says Theron was our waiter. He was accommodating and informative, especially when I asked for details about charcuterie options. Based on his descriptions, I chose the Creminelli Calabrese (type of salami). I asked about items no longer on the menu, such as pork belly or avocado bruschetta. Items are seasonal and the menu changes with a few kept staples.

I ordered a glass of trusty Moscato while Sophie created her own 1/2 glass flight trio, mix of two reds and Moscato.

We noshed on some fancy apps:

*Mini Empanada trio: mushroom, chorizo, potato
*Burrata on arugula salad with strawberry & pear slices, toasted nuts
*small brick of Beemster 18 month aged Gouda with included olive bread, fig jam, stone ground mustard
      *Creminelli Calabrese salami
*Rootstock signature flatbread: tomato, mozzarella, mushroom, artichoke hearts

We had a good time, nice to know lots of friends hang out together on Valentine's. Outdoor seating available for those long lazy Summer nights.

Cute wine bar in Main Street cupertino! Has a decent beverage selection. My friend asked our waitress for a recommendation after describing what type of wine she likes and she ended up suggesting a winner.

I love the seating options, inside and outside!

      Review for the Wine Club!

Our membership is $40 monthly and allows for one bottle to take home every month (you can pay for more). We find good value in it especially since we get two free wine tastings monthly and the menu is marked 25% off.

Although the prices may seem high, Rootstock isn't the place for your $8 bottle of Cupcake. They rotate their selections frequently, and I think pricing for the wine is definitely fair especially if you get the member's discount. The "Library" menu has their premium and higher end selections. As far as food goes, they have mostly small plates and sandwiches/salads. In my experience, those portions are definitely a bit too pricy considering I never get full lol.

Customer service here is always pleasant, no matter how busy the place is. I never had a negative experience. The restaurant also has an indoor/outdoor patio (and they are dog friendly too which is a plus).

Great date night spot! Solid 4 stars!

Final Piece of Dirty Donovan Life Advice? Not into wine? They have various craft beer selections as well!

Good place for wine due to selection and happy hour prices but the food is quite expensive. Didn't seem like it by price but the portions are quite small. I guess that's what you get at a wine bar though.

Bruschetta was really good. Combo of 3 (butternut squash and cheese), pear and fig, and another one...and all very unique.
