I went this pollards for the first time in a while and ordered chicken bbq plus corn pudding, hush puppies, and Mac n cheese. The service was good, and the cashier was friendly.
They were cleaning tables when I walked in, which was good.
This special was $10.
I wanted fast food but still good quality and portions.
The bbq came with no bread and looked unappealing. It was salty and didn't have a good taste.
The corn pudding was great. The Mac n cheese was bland and tasted like it was previously frozen.
No napkins or forks presented.
I will not be back soon to this location. The great bridge location is way better.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Robyn L.Virginia Beach, VA111123Jan 20, 2024
Yesterday I received an order for fried chicken livers from this restaurant for the first time. In the past, I've always ordered from the Virginia Beach Blvd location - which has, hands down, the best fried chicken livers I've ever had in my life. These were overcooked, hard, and dry - really bad. I recommend ordering from the VB Blvd restaurant - it deserves 10 stars every single time. And by the way, their liver and onions dish is also the bomb!!

I find that I prefer the Virginia Beach , Pollard's , the chicken is fresh fried, seasoned nicely, crispy and juicy, I also like their chicken livers , soft fried, both are delicious. The puff reminds me of a "Johnny cake and chicken leg" you get from the USVI's Carnival Villages at Carnival time. There sides and desserts are also delicious and prices reasonable! If you love good food this is a must!

Because you deserve fresh fried chicken:) you may have to slow your roll and wait, but good things come to those who wait. Tasty and trusted , delicious and down home good . Get some fried biscuits, sandwich platters for office or family get togethers . And don't forget some cake or pies . Now go enjoy some tasty something's .

Why don't we have these at home?
Visiting the area for the weekend and every time I have been in the area I have seen random commercials for Pollard's.
Asked about it and found out that this chicken is the biz knees.
Randomly hit up this location on a Friday evening after being on the road. I had a chicken tender platter with two sides and a puff.
The chicken tenders were so flipping good they did not need a thing on them. If you wanted to add something that's on you.
The sides were nothing to write home about. The collards needed hot sauce and I can't say I tasted a season in those green beans. It is what
That puff though, chilllle. It's like a sweet and savory delight that you can eat alone or with a dollop of honey.
I have already put my order in for the next time family comes up to visit. Bring Pollard's chicken AND puffs!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Bill M.North Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach, VA01Nov 15, 2022
Some of the best chicken in Hampton Roads. The Great neck location is always good. I also enjoy the collards, green beans and baked beans.

This was a pretty good visit last night. There were about two others in line before us. But the wait wasn't long at all.
We walked into what seemed like an empty restaurant, but there were about three parties of 2 dining inside the restaurant. The atmosphere was cool and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. So I figured okay well let's see what they're all about.
I had some coupons from the entertainment book so I was able to purchase a meal as well as get another meal for free. The coupon was for $5. Therefore, if anything was over $5 I would just have to pay the difference.
I had a few questions and the front desk cashier order-taker was super helpful and she explained everything to me that I was unsure about. So from about the time that I placed my order to the time we receive the order it took about 15 minutes. Seeing how the food is made fresh this wasn't a long wait time at all and especially if the food is good the wait time really isn't a factor to me.
I ordered the Tuesday special which was the gizzard dinner that included two sides and puffs. And with my coupon I was able to order the chicken fillet sandwich with one side and a drink for under $5. But because I'm extra, I didn't just order the regular fries I ordered the sweet potato fries which was a $0.99 upcharge. Well the good thing about my meal... it came with a drink as well.
I ordered the grilled chicken which is a lighter option that they offer. They also offer roasted chicken. But to my surprise, well I wasn't really surprised, but the roasted chicken was sold out by the time we arrived. As a result, I'll have to visit again to try the roasted chicken.
Overall, my food was good!
The sweet potato fries I believe were undercooked. They could have cooked them about three minutes longer. And the sweet potato fries tasted like sweet potato cake fries with all the glazed like or sugar that they put on top of them. These were too sweet for my liking. I only ate about two and a half out of the maybe 6 or 7 that were in the platter. However the grilled chicken sandwich I only requested lettuce on the sandwich that was really good.
I will return like I said I definitely want to try the roasted chicken.
The gizzard dinner I assume that was fine. My baby ate that and he's been here before so he knows whats good.
I would recommend this place if you like chicken.
I'm excited to try the roasted chicken. I have another $5 coupon!!
The area of the restaurant is located by a: Food Lion, bank, Sally's, a nightclub and a few other stores. It's a busy area of Virginia Beach but nothing to be alarmed over.
I believe the restaurant closes at 9 p.m. so if you decide to go I would say take about $10 for some good quality chicken.
Have fun | enjoy :)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Rich K.Glen Ellyn, IL010Jun 11, 2022
In VB visiting family. Suggested we try this place. Only been here twice, but had to wait at least 10 minutes for the order both times regardless of how many people are waiting. Ordered 2 half chicken dinners tonight only to find we received two leg quarter dinners. Not worth driving back to correct it. Disappointed overall. Will not be back. Too many other places that deserve our business. Looking at prior reviews, does not appear that service is changing for the better.

Best chicken in town. Sad to see such a good business being hit so hard having to start closing stores. Lucky to find one in College Park still open. Thank you for the great service
