My updated review. I contacted Edison Place for a potential proposal for my girlfriend. Her and I love the place and we go there quite regularly. I had wanted them to write "will you marry me" on the dessert plate. I was contacted quickly and courteously by the manager/owner and worked out the date. From the second we arrived, they were anxiously awaiting the big moment! Turns out they were spreading the word among others in the restaurant so by the time we finished up lunch, all eyes (subtly) turned to us! The plate came out perfect and of course she said yes!!! The restaurant erupted in cheers and they even filmed the big moment! They also gave us a champagne toast (on the house) to help celebrate.
A few days later we went back for a celebration dinner with friends where the manager came to us and said the kitchen staff was so afraid of blowing it, they were practicing for a week!! My fiancee nearly melted over that story because it was so personal (ok, so did I).
We have a deep appreciation for Edison Place for what they did for us. Please, go there, you won't regret it.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Jul 28, 2015Previous reviewI've lost track of the number of times I've been here already. Friendly staff. Good service. Nice atmosphere. And they even have PaintNite and Trivia!
Some things I recommend off the menu:
Apps:
-Crab Cakes
-Chicken Wings
-Pretzel Sticks
Entrees:
-Edison Burger
-Bavarian Bratwurst
-Glendale Wreck
-Bacon Wrapped Filet
-Chicken Cordon Blue
-Jagerschnitzel
On Fridays, I do recommend the pirogi's! Made with some mushrooms and onion and quite tasty!
They also have their own beer brew, the Edison Dark. I rarely partake in home brews but this one is my new favorite and I get it everytime I come here!
You will not be disappointed with Edison Place. I do recommend, even if its just for a quick drink. - 413498646Feb 18, 2017
Tony the bartender was a total JERK.
He had a horrible attitude, was negative, complaining, and provided us the worst service ever.
We still left tony a 20% tip on our regular bill amount- hopefully it will turn Tony's day around.
I will never be back and will only order take out going forward.
Food is great quality especially in comparison to other Glendale restaurants in the areaHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Genevieve R.Long Island, NY9124251538Apr 30, 2015
If you're in the area looking for good grub at a decent price I would suggest stopping in here. Place was clean and cozy. You can either come in plop down at the bar and watch the game or be seated in the restaurant area.
Started with the chicken pops buffalo style and they were DELISH. I wish I had these at my local wing place because they were hot, meaty and juicy. I would definitely get them again. Also tried the pretzels and they were tasty too, soft and hot but nothing out of this world. Mustard dipping sauce had some sort of wasabi kick that was super spicey, (you'll clear out those sinuses)
For my entree I ordered the Saturday special of beef Wellington. I ordered it rare after reading previous reviews of their meat being over cooked. Entrees took a little longer than usual to come out (and the place was fairly empty) but nothing unbearable. My entree came out medium rare -medium I haven't had much luck lately with restaurants cooking it right. That being said I tried it and it was very tender and had good flavor so I didn't send it back. Serving size was huge! Barely ate half so I had another meal to bring home with me :). Was around $32. Mashed potatoes were super fluffy but definitely needed salt and pepper.
Everyone I was with really enjoyed their meals. I tried a bit of the red cabbage and applesauce and it was good ! Had a light cinnamon taste to it. The waitress left water carafes on the table and kept them refilled so our glasses never ran out of water. I had a good meal and I would come back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - NellSophia B.Brooklyn, NY58130108Apr 2, 2017

Came here for a late dinner. The dining room was relatively empty for a Friday night. Our waitress (Hi Megan !!!) was friendly and so helpful. She suggested great options for us to try. I ordered the lentil and bacon soup with a sesame chicken salad. My boyfriend ordered the jagershnitzel with pickled purple cabbage MADE IN-HOUSE (I'll get back to that in a few sentences).
The lentil and bacon soup needed more bacon (real tears). The soup was delicious and full of fresh veggies. The salad was fresh and crispy. It was not overdressed (plus plus). They did not skimp on the chicken (yay!). Now back to this homemade pickled cabbage. The cabbage was a vibrant color. It was served warm (shocker). The flavor is sweet but tangy. It's warm and crunchy. You could put it on an old shoe and it would still be delicious.
This was our second time here and we can't wait to return. We really want to try the Sunday brunch. Watch out for my next review :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dave K.Middle Village, NY252639Jul 25, 2011
Went here for a Saturday afternoon dinner. The decor was delightfully subdued and the dining area was spacious, a definite contrast to Von Westenhagen that used to occupy the same space.
We were promptly seated and our server Christine was also prompt in coming over for our drink order. She rattled off the specials, and I was AMAZED to find that they had Beef Wellington on the menu! I ordered that with an appetizer of the crab cakes.
Both the appetizer and the entree' were absolutely delicious and I even went and ordered their apple strudel for dessert. The strudel? Better than the elitist Zum Stammtisch down the block. Christine's service to our table was spectacular.
I understand some people have an issue because it seems like a limited menu, but I'd rather have a menu with 9 well thought out and prepared entrees than a menu of 90 slopped together plates. The culinary staff obviously put some thought into it, and that should be acknowledged.
They also have a full service bar in the restaurant that I look forward to patronizing in the future.
I also can't understand how anyone can write a positive review but only rate it two stars? Perhaps they need to go to Yelp 101.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Helena H.Elmhurst, NY815957519Jun 24, 2013
This bar has a large selection of Drinks (Beer and Alcohol).
Awesome American food.
Portions are pretty big, Pretty Fresh, Pretty looking, Pretty good!
Since I was around the area, found this local place, It was quiet on a Sunday Evening, but after looking at pictures and reviews, we gave it a shot.
Ordered Shrimp cocktails and Crab Cakes for Appetizer. Shrimps are HUGE (at least 4 Inches long). The Crab Cakes were Meh (Too much Stuffin, couldn't find any crab meat in it).
Each one of us ordered different Things.
- I ordered a Chicken Milanese with Arugula salad on the side. Pretty Well Battered, light and Chicken meat was perfect.
- Friend of mine Ordered a Grilled Atlantic Salmon Steak... is pretty HUGE! (no wonder they called it a steak). Well done and it was made to perfection, I thought I was going to bey dry and no flavor, but it was totally tendered, fresh flavors of the Salmon with some seasoning. But the side that came in (Zuchinni, potato, Mushroom and Tarragoon), Was too oily, there was a lot of oil floating around the bowl.
- The Carnivore friend ordered the New York Shell Steak.... Medium rare (and came out medium). With the side of Creme Spinach and Dauphinoise Potatoes (they were all stacked up in layers). He said it was good. I didn't tasted it because I was too busy with my own entree.
After all, WE decided to share the Dessert which was Nutella Crepe with Vanilla Ice cream. It was light, it wasn't heavy nutella. It was perfect just to have a scoop or two of sweet in your belly by the end of the day.
Service was friendly and quick. Would come back here when I'm in the area.
Total Bill came out around $ 120 (drinks, appetizer, entree and dessert). Not bad for 3 people****

Have been wanting to try Edison Place for some time now and finally got to on Saturday night. It's def a great place to watch a game over a few beers.
We started with the crab cakes and mushroom tart. Carb cakes were full of lump crabmeat and not a lot of filler which is great but it needed a bit more flavor/spice, perhaps a pumped up remoulade. The tart was ok speck was delicious but tough, could've been sliced thinner.
I had the lobster penne special in a vodka sauce with asparagus and sun dried tomatoes. I had high hopes for this one but was a little disappointed. Way too much sun dried tomatoes and a little too salty. My fiancé had the beef Wellington and thought it was ok as well, nothing to write home about.
Overall meal I'd say was ok, perhaps next time we should stick to more typical pub fare.
PS: check in on yelp for 20% off!!!

We were told about this little gem by my Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law. They said the place was very good and Saturday nights, their special was Beef Wellington. My husband has been dying for Beef Wellington ever since he saw the chefs preparing it on one season of Hell's Kitchen. So we went just so he can have that meal.
When you enter the restaurant, the bar is on one side and the restaurant is on the other. The restaurant room was very open and you definitely did not feel like you were sitting on top of each other. It looked a little empty to me, but I think that is what the owner was going for. You definitely do not feel crowded like you do in so many other restaurants. It's almost got the feeling of a rustic cabin, but cozier.
Many times, when you are sitting in a restaurant with a bar in it and piped in music, you have to scream to the person you are dining with to be heard over the loud music. This is not the case at Edison's Place. While the music was a nice touch, my husband and I could definitely speak at normal volume with no problem hearing each other.
When you go, I strongly suggest you check-in through Yelp right away. I frequently check-in at restaurants since joining Yelp and this was the first restaurant that offered me a 20% discount (right on your phone) for checking-in. I showed it to the waiter and he removed 20% off of our tab. Very nice touch guys.
Our waiter Arturo was wonderful. I asked his name so I can include him in my review and he asked for our names back. Once we told him he said "nice to meet you". You really feel like you are the only diners in the restaurant. While the place was not crowded (it was a Saturday night after all), I can only assume it was because not too many people know about this gem in Glendale. I am here to tell you that this is a must try.
I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and the Shell Steak and my husband ordered the Beef Wellington of course. And although I ordered my Steak Medium Well and it was more like Medium (I could still see some pink) I ate most of it and it was still very juicy and tender. I just could not finish the entire meal and as I so often do, brought home leftovers.
The restaurant has an upscale feel, but it is very casual and very reasonably priced even before the 20% discount.
My reviews aren't usually this lengthy, but this place deserves a wonderful, detailed review.
The absolute only reason I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the location. It is right off of Myrtle Avenue on a quiet street, but we had to drive around for 20 minutes just to find a parking spot. The only thing this place is missing is a parking lot.
In conclusion, if you live in the Glendale area DO NOT miss this place. It is worth every bite and dollar.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Lynn, I'm so glad you enjoyed Edison Place as much as you did. Thanks for coming all the way from the Bronx just so your husband could have some of our delicious Beef Wellington. If all else fails for me, some of the dead end streets on the other side of Myrtle are usually a good place to find spots others don't think to look for.
