So I hesitated coming back here after getting an order of chicken and waffles and the waffle was so hard I could have put someone into a coma. Well it's been about a year and I always follow their Facebook page where they post the special everyday.
The chicken and waffle meal today was 3.50. What a deal. So I decided to try it again. So much better and the chicken was also pretty big and tasty. Now the downside was the chicken was just a little salty (I'm not a big salt person).
They also serve breakfast which is served all day. It's right next to the old Ronnie's in a small building but still enough space to house a couple of people for lunch. They are pretty fast for a lunch break unlike some of the other soul food restaurants near it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 27, 2020
Customer service was alright. Wanted to support a local business during this time. This was actually my first time doing takeout due to the pandemic. I know most restaurants ask you to stay in the car. I pulled up to the restaurant I called the phone several times no answer I guess Tee was too lazy to actually do curbside. I ordered the special of the day which was fried pork chops. The flavor of the pork chop crust was good. However the corn a.m. tour a little overcooked and I was just not feeling the food at all.

Pretty good place. Super down home food like your southern grandma would make. Very limited menu. Daily specials. The drinks in the fountain are not diabetic friendly. But you're not eating soul food to be healthy right?

Don't let the outside appearance of this restaurant fool you. It looks abandoned and unkempt but I'm extremely glad I gave this place a chance. If you visit this place, order chicken, french toast, and sausage. Personally I think the grits isn't a must, but I'm not really an oatmeal-kind-of-guy. You get a lot for your buck too. According to my brother, the place smelled like a bathroom but to me, I don't think so. The cashier gave me a free pink lemonade and omg it was amazing. My brother craves it to this day. The workers are also really friendly. If I returned to Baton Rouge, I would definitely come back to this joint.

I ordered via Uber Eats delivery time was at first 35 minutes the time kept changing I figured no big deal if the food is cold i can reheat it. I was so disappointed with what I waited for. My order was gravy steak red beans and rice. Peach cobbler for dessert. The gravy steak was chopped fine but as u can see not very much but the worst was the red beans!!!! Look at the photo I counted maybe 9 actual beans. Just Pitiful!!!!!
So I was too scared and disappointed to even try the peach cobbler it looked gummy and undone just like I am now with what I paid for.
Uber Eats driver was just busy thus the delay. They need to hire more drivers.
I wish my red beans look like what was photographed on the yelp appHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bianca S.Baton Rouge, LA36396Nov 25, 2019
I was in the area and hadn't had N and Out in a while. I'm so glad I decided to stop in! Their dishes are consistently delicious. From breakfast to lunch. I had smothered chicken, yams and Mac and cheese. It made me miss my nana because this was my favorite food when I visited. Delicious, piping hot food with 5 star sweet service. I had tried jelly cake for the first time! Yum!!

Came here today with the bf and my brother. This was my first time. I got the fried pork chop, cheese spaghetti, sweet peas (came with corn bread) and a bread pudding since they had just sold out of the peach cobbler. Really really good! I want to try the chicken and waffles (was told their waffle griddle currently broke so they have ordered a new one) hopefully next time. But for sure will be back!! Really nice people!

I was impressed with the food and service. Went with 3 other people & they said their meals were great. Catfish was fried well, Mac & cheese was delicious, the meatloaf was seasoned well and the cornbread was yummy. Only complaint was that it was a tad bit warm inside the restaurant. The doors were open because there was a breeze outside, but the breeze did not make its was inside.

So I had been meaning to go here but I finally got the chance to. Let me just tell you I wish I had been going sooner. I got the lasagna and my mom got the gravy steaks. Our plates were so full neither of us finished. It was the soul food I had been needing for a while. We also got the peach cobbler and it was delicious.
