I would give it zero stars if I could. Absolutely horrible customer service and a business that is run is the shadiest way possible. Heads up- you will never be notified when or it your items sell- so enjoy calling every single day to check. Owner keeps zero records of bill of sale and will conveniently "lose" them so you'll never have an actual clue how much your item sells for. Aka I guess it's morally and ethically alright to just make up any given number and to be expected to believe that's what your items sold for. God forbid you come in on a "busy day" and then subsequently your items can't be found and neither can the receipts when/if they were sold. Business 101 is clearly not taken into account at this store and "customer care" is an absolute joke. Highly highly suggest going elsewhere.

The SOUL purpose of this post is to hopefully prevent others from being RIPPED OFF by this business owner Tina of "Rags to Riches " on Telegraph rd in Brownstown. Here's a short,maybe not so short version.. I brought in my daughter's absolutely gorgeous, expensive, never worn wedding dress for her sell. Tina the owner of this business, priced it at $599 ..on a $1,500
dress that was never worn and gave me a slip stating she gets 60% and I get 40% of sale..."WHEN" it sells. States to call back every 60 days to renew contract although doesn't state if you miss the deadline what would happen) It does state that after 60 days that they could lower the price up to.. 50% off ( which is $299) Meanwhile, I called in every few months to check the status of the dress and was always told " It hasn't sold yet, would you like to renew/ lower price?" I Kept renewing but didn't lower price. Therefore,she

are picking up ( spring, summer, fall..)They didn't seem to care if I missed calling them exactly every 60 days and just kept renewing. Multiple times I drove there to check on the dress but it was closed even though webpage says open. Well, on 9-12-23 I went to this business to "see" the dress.The owner's daughter looked up my invoice in front of me and said it hasn't sold yet. (It had been over a year.) She told me that it would have a tag attached to the invoice if it was sold and showed me
examples of this. Nothing on my invoice. She asked if I'd like to renew or lower the price. At
point I said " no, show me my dress!" She said the dress was in the back room with all the wedding dresses and to go look for it. I looked through everything twice and nothing. Then the owner, Tina said they was too busy to help me look.. wait, I'm her customer right? and when I first walked in was asked " Can I help you?" I was suddenly not able be helped and Tina said she had to help other customers. and she'd look
for my dress later and she'd look for it later and call me ... no callback. Shocker so I called her the next day...Tina now claims the dress was sold for $299. Problem # 1, I NEVER agreed to lower the price . I asked why my invoice from yesterday didn't have a "sold" tag on it and asked for proof of documentation/sale receipt. Then suddenly claims it sold
$299! At this point, I 100 percent believed Tina was lying. I told Tina I'm going back to her store and low and behold, she put a little tag on my invoice ( wasn't there the day before when she looked!! I asked her to prove to me how
much that the dress actually sol for and she couldn't provide any documents!!First, I Never agreed to lower the price. Second, I was never informed that the dress sold so I could collect. Third. She obviously added a sold tag on my invoice the next day when I became suspicious. When I challenged her on all of the above, and her poor business practices she became very defensive and made a bunch of excuses. This place is a SCAM !! I wouldn't NEVER recommend someone taking their items for her to sell. She will try and give you pennies on the dollar and then lie about if and when when it sells... Hope this post helps someone..seller beware!!

Horrible!!!!

My mom brought in mine and my sisters old prom and homecoming dresses to sell here and had NOTHING but problems.

I cant remember the EXACT details since it wasn't me who directly had the problems. But here is what I do know.

They are supposed to call you after a certain time period if your dress does not sell and tell you that they are lowering the price and you can accept it or take it back. Well, they never did. After I think it was maybe 4 months my mom called. After being on hold for 40 minutes they lady came back to the phone and said the dresses had not sold yet and the priced dropped to X amount. So another 3 or 4 months go by and my mom calls back again. This time, the lady says the dresses already sold. That's strange... 5 dresses sold in 4 months and my mom received no phone calls saying so. Okay...my mom asked when she could come in for her money she gets for the dresses selling. Then they magically "didn't know how much they sold for, they would have to check."

LONG LONG LONG STORY SHORT...

They "lost" the dresses. They were never sold. And they admitted that. AND my mom wasn't given the money that the dresses were priced at. (example: dress for sale for $150 my mom should have received $150 since they lost it) NOPE. She was still only given a percentage...as if the dresses were sold to someone, even though they weren't.

My mom is too nice to argue. If it was me on the phone, I wouldn't have let that slide. Its a shame that they would take advantage of someone being so nice.

I visited to look for a wedding dress and the selection was decent. I did not find anything that suited me, personally, but from what I could tell, all of the dresses are well kept and clean. The staff was very helpful. A young lady helped me pick out dresses and handed them to me, one by one, the way I would expect at a bridal salon. This was a nice touch for a consignment shop. My only complaint is that the dressing rooms are not big enough or well suited for the large dresses that girls try on here.

If you are looking for a prom or homecoming dress, the selection is HUGE and organized by color. There are many more dresses for dances then there are wedding dresses.

I took my daughters beautiful dresses to be sold here, and everytime I called to see if they had sold, she told me no, I called often and kept in touch with the owner, finally I went in to look for my dresses and only found one, she said oh, your dresses did sell, then she went on to say she put them on clearance and marked them way down, she gave me a very small amount for my dresses, I would not recommend anyone to take their dresses here or to purchase a dress or anything from this store, she cheats people.

After reading all the negative reviews, I admit I was nervous about making a purchase here. Decided to give it a shot anyway. I found the owner to be very pleasant and helpful. We ended up buying a dress someplace else, but will continue to shop here the next time we are in need of a formal dress. The inventory is vast, and there is plenty to choose from. The only reason we didn't buy a dress this time was because my daughter is a size 0, and there wasn't much to choose from in her size that was a short style.
The reason for 3 stars and not 4 or more: I noticed that a good amount of the dresses my daughter tried on had a small rip or jewels falling off. The owner was accommodating and insisted that she would fix those issues if we purchased a dress with such an issue. I will re review after our next visit, and hope to be able to give more stars.

I have bought all my formal dresses here and the employees are very nice, especially Tina. There is a lot of selection with size and color and I bought most of my dresses for around 50 dollars. This shop buys used dresses though so sometimes you need to fix or alter parts of a dress as an added expense. I think my only concern was that there are not as many larger sizes than there are smaller ones. The employees complement you in every dress you try, but do give tips if you ask questions and are fairly nice and honest. For some people it may not be the best choice but it is a nice shop for those who don't want to spend 500 dollars on a dress they wear once. Tina is also very compatible and will try to makeup for any troubles. Overall a good local dress shop and would buy again.

Says they're open until 6pm... my sister and I pulled in at 5:18 to a CLOSED sign... we drove all the way there and they closed early.. wtf it's so annoying when businesses do this.. you have hours listed for a reason and your dumbass just doesn't want to work. Lmao why not just stay closed and do everyone a favor. My sister also told me that she tried to go to this place for her wedding dress and that the lady tried to sell her an awful dress that was way over priced just because she would get the commission on it and was pushy to the point of it being awkward.. keep in mind that this place IS consignment so they will be higher priced so that the seller and the store make money.. IF they're open because you cant go by the store hours.... or just go somewhere better :)

this place is never open!! we have visited twice during their posted business hours.!! my daughters drove 40 minutes arrived at 1150am , the store hours are 12-6. it is now 1230 and nobody has bothered to open the store.
i heard from several people, "the owner is rude and thinks she is better than everybody" dont shop here!!!!!

A friend and I went in there for a dress and the customer service ( she said owner) was rude and unprofessional! My friends daughter found a dress and timing we were not able to put a full deposit down at that moment we said we would definitely be back. FINE.. STILL SPEAKING TO THE OWNER She then proceded to grab the garmet out of my hands and tell her assistant to put it in the window. stunned we thought this was just a fire under our butt, The teen was devastated when we got in the car we came back to purchase the dress ( teen insisted that was the one) we came in days later and dress was the window and guess what!! Update: I since have heard that a member of the family was ill. Sorry to hear, that's why I said for people to see yellow pages reviews. Closed way to much unexpectedly ! Hire someone.
