This is a diner in a building filled with history. It's been around since the 60s when the Sitton family owned it.
Don't come here expecting a Taj Mahal dining experience. This is a diner and this is what you'll get.
I typically order a breakfast or a BLT. Those are my go-to items at diners.
Breakfast is good. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, to your liking. Today I ordered a BLT and requested crispy bacon and fries and that's what I got.
They were relatovelyt busy tonight so the waiter forgot to refill a beverage but immediately corrected it as soon as he realized it. All good. We're not those types of patrons.
The waiter was friendly, chatty, and pleasant.
I can't bash this place. It's an old school diner. This is what you'll get.
The inside is unique and there are rumors it may be haunted. Oooohhhhh
To poorly rate this place because a server didn't give you their pronouns and it triggered you is absolutely asinine. Like get a grip ffs. It's not that serious. They're there to serve food, not cater to insanity.
All-in-all we like this place and go any time we're craving a good breakfast or sandwich.
Happy eating!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - B L.South Gate, CA051142Mar 5, 2024
Ok
So just yesterday I went to a diner in Glendale and had a good experience, but It lacked personality.
So I go to north Hollywood diner today and get beautiful diner ambiance with a lot of personality
But the service needed work
Long story short, the food was ok
I got a Huevos Rancheros and mom got a sliders plate with onion rings
But they were understaffed on a Tuesday
Which meant a frustrated and very vocal waitress who let everybody know how frustrated she was
Simple stalling methods and staggered orders could have solved her issues but she took everyone's order at the same time which meant a single cook trying to pump out orders all at the same time
Not to mention our order came out wrong
But being as it was busy, we understood
Again, I've worked in the service industry for 10 years so I know all of the issues could have been avoided by simple techniques
Either way the ambiance and diner vibe in this place was beautiful
They have a bar and all these classic pictures against a brick wall
It's very vibey
A little music with a more composed and energy and this spot could definitely be a vibe in my opinion
I wander if they have any events or peak the interests of any locals
I think it's in a great location with solid parking
I love the old closed down look from the outside but a hidden gem look on the inside
If the service and energy can match that unique classic flavor of the restaurant, then I think this place could do some real damage. Maybe 2-3 signature dishes or specials that are really done well would be good.
My plate was average
Moms plate was average too
The onion rings were perfect tho!
That's all I'll say
I could see myself going back here for the vibe alone
I'm definitely interested to see what their other dishes taste like
That's all for now

A traditional and great throwback 50s style diner in North Hollywood. It is 24 hours and they serve breakfast through dinner so they really have a ton of great options on the menu. Our server Lola was absolutely great and very attentive. She was funny, polite, and did a great job. The issue we had for our brunch today was it took 35 minutes for our two entrées to arrive after ordering, which is slow for a diner. However the service speed and just comparing it flavor wise to other diners makes me hold back one star. I do love how there is a large free parking lot attached so parking is really easy and plentiful.
There were a lot of items that I wanted to order on the menu, but today I chose to try their Chicken Fried Steak. I also ordered a side biscuit. The biscuit was not my favorite, it was pretty small next to others I have had recently. The chicken fried steak was very good, but I have had better versions at some other local diners. The gravy was a bit watery and the other dish we ordered came with bacon, which was very undercooked but aside from that everything else really hit the spot. Wish they did hashbrowns instead of country potatoes though. Their coffee is also really good and was surprisingly strong.
Overall a solid diner option in North Hollywood. I'm holding back a star because of the service speed and just comparing it to other diners in LA, but still would recommend it to anyone.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rudy R.Toluca Terrace, Los Angeles, CA011Apr 16, 2024
Went to have breakfast there a couple weeks ago, at first the waitress was thinking long to ask me if I want any coffee and to bring me a menu, but after a while, she came, and was friendly after that. I gave her a small tip.

My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday mid-morning and were seated right away. Lori, our server, was friendly and funny.
I ordered the strawberry waffle and orange juice. I thought the waffle would have strawberries in it, but it came with a little condiment container of strawberry syrup (the kind you can make with frozen strawberries and sugar). But the syrup tasted old - I only realized after I poured it all over my waffle. The waffle itself was thin and had a nice crunch to it, but nothing special. The orange juice was so tart and almost bitter. Maybe it's not orange season, but whenever I see fresh squeezed orange juice on a menu, I always order it, no matter the season. I've never had orange juice this bitter.
My boyfriend ordered an omelette which he said was decent. I think the pancakes were nice and fluffy. However, the potatoes were just old mashed potatoes fried up which tasted terrible.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5466632019Nov 25, 2023
I've been here several times. The staff is nice and helpful and the food is good. It's very diner-y. We went for dinner and I ordered the Eggs Florentine with ham. So it actually it was an Eggs Florentine-Benedict! It was good. And I had a side salad. My man had the patty melt with fries. He said it was good but the fires were overcooked.

Came here in the late 1990's and the menu was plentiful and affordable. This week I stopped in randomly for lunch and food prices have skyrocketed (which is normal) yet the food quality has drastically declined. Ordered a meatball sandwich (with cheese) for $16. 40minutes later my sandwich came with no cheese, cold tomato sauce on the side, and soggy cold french fries. Meatballs were just sliced in half and placed on a sandwich roll. Service was Ok, but that dosnt fix the food quality or price. Rustic dined vibe inside for sure.

My friend loves this dinner, and her and I went a couple months ago and it was okay. I really liked the divey feel but the food was just okay. Fast forward to about two weeks ago, I happened to have about an hour to kill while my cat was at the vet across the street so I came in. I sit down and the waitress comes over to me hands me the menu and immediately says after I open it "you should know the menu" I said "wait why?" And then she was like "just kidding haha but you're ready right" it was super weird and uncomfortable, I ordered French toast because that was the first thing I saw because I was kind of uncomfortable honestly. After my order was taken no one spoke to me again, no one refilled my drink, asked me how the food was. No one said anything to me even as I paid. The food was meh but the experience was awful, from the second I walked in I felt like no one wanted me there.

This is the best neighborhood diner. Anyone who complains is looking for something else. I have gone here many times, sometimes in the morning, other times late night. Always great.
Easy to split a check if out with a group of friends. Large menu for many options. Nice, big booths, awesome outdoor/sorta indoor seating area. Plenty of parking.
Recently a large group of us came in, some from out-of-state and not only did everyone like their food, but the service was great and the prices as well.
Looking for a classic (North) Hollywood diner, this is it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 8, 2014Previous reviewI've been going to the NoHo since 2001. It's a greasy spoon diner. Simple.
We go there the morning after or if I have a friend in town and we don't want to wait an hour for a table at some high profile place.
The waitresses are fabulous the space is large and the food is what you expect at a 24hour diner.
This isn't Swingers where all the cool cats are going. It's a greasy spoon. Get over it.
