I live about 75 minutes from Duluth. When I decided that I wanted to read Roots by Alex Haley, I checked the nearest stores with no luck. I checked Amazon, but didn't feel like paying their price or supporting them in our current situation.
I did a Google search for used bookstores in Duluth since I was planning a trip there for some groceries. The name of this place is what first grabbed my attention. I'm so glad it did!
Not only did they have a copy in stock, it was half the price of Amazon! I didn't get the name of the person who helped me out over the phone, but she was awesome. She let me pay over the phone, was super-friendly, and when I did the curbside pick up, gladly left it outside the door when I arrived. For an antisocial person like me, that's aces!
I hope to someday make an appointment to go in and look around because I am itching to spend money in a store that has already impressed me without me even having walked in the door.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 26, 2017
At first I thought it was a very small store but as you go to the back it meanders left and right and it turns out to be about a medium size store. I had to ask the lady multiple questions and she was very sweet and gracious and knowledgeable. My husband and I walked out of there with over $70 worth of books and that was all at 60% off. My husband was happy in the sci-fi section I was happy in the small travel section and I found the Ernest Hemingway book I wanted.

What a wonderful used book store. Barb is just delightful and her large inventory is exceptionally well-organized and priced well. My husband found several paperbacks to add to his collection. We'll be back!

Amazing little bookstore that isn't so little. Very friendly staff, great selection that on first glance doesn't seem to be organized, but is, which satisfies both the "I want to dig and stumble upon something in a pile of books" and the "I wish this was alphabetized" part of me.
A hard balance for sure. Est. 1980 and locally owned. An amazing feat in and of itself.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jason B.Duluth, MN51Sep 16, 2014
This place is awesome. They love books. When ever I get done with a books, rather than throw them away or give them to Goodwill, I trade them in for some credit and pick up some thing I've wanted to read. They have a great selection and if you are willing to put in the time I think they have just about every book I've ever wanted to read. It is also a great way to discover new and different authors on the cheap. I've picked up classics fiction, biographies, sci-fi epics, and even children's books. If you have the time make sure to visit.
