I came in to tan and the older lady at the front desk asked if I had goggles. She then told me to "take them out and show them to her," like I was 8. Her reason was because, "the FDA could be standing behind me in line and the salon could get into trouble if I can't prove I have my eye protection. " Really? The FDA doesn't inspect the food supply, does she really believe they're policing the salons making sure customers have eye protection? I realize it's unsafe to tan without goggles but I'm 39 years old, shouldn't that be my choice? I go to the salon to relax, not to be policed. In all my years of tanning I have never had someone actually make me take out my goggles and show them to the clerk.
Guess what . . . I actually forgot them. She then told me I couldn't tan unless I bought additional goggles or paid for some eye stickers. I didn't bring money, my tanning is ALREADY PAID FOR!!! I couldn't believe she was being this way, over goggles? This place its the worse the tray to take u money and went they have to give back to u because they mistake they take for ever more then a month.and next month after u cancel they will do againg.this its the worse place ever.

Awful customer service. I walked in at 805p and after five minutes of two associates helping one customer, asked for a spray tan. I was told there would be a 15 minute wait as there was someone in the bed and another person in front of me. After 30 minutes of waiting, I still had not gotten into the spray tan bed. I asked if it was ready and was given a "it has to be cleaned." I sat back down and continued to wait; while the two associates helped every single other person that came in-checked them in, answered their questions, etc. In the entire time I waited (40 minutes) no less than five people came in and tanned while I waited. at 850, I got up, asked for my tan to be placed back on my account and walked out. I will not set foot in this store again. The Colonial Heights store is fantastic, but this store was disrespectful.

I have never had a problem here, I had to wait about 20 minutes once, but it was after work one day and I hadn't made an appointment, so I didn't really mind. Beds are always clean.

I stopped going to this location after numerous mistakes by staff checking me in and the overall filth. I have witnessed so many times one girl running around trying to clean beds while at least 3 or sometimes even more staff, stand up at the counters talking and gossiping. I am sick and tired of paying my hard earned money here and I can't even place my clothes on the tables in the tanning rooms because they are visibly soiled and hair is on it. I have watched staff "clean" the tanning beds using the same towel. I stopped using the lie down beds after seeing hair or visible dirty surfaces so I started using the stand up bed instead but that would have hair or balls of lint where I stand. The online sign in feature is a joke and I have listened as staff called out names of people who signed in online and when the person(s) weren't there, they waited and called the names out again after 10-15 minutes, leaving a bed empty and lots of customers still waiting. I once timed the stand up bed 20 minutes of being empty while staff talked and laughed and didn't pay attention that the bed was ready. I have seen the staff let their friends in first, especially guys and make others wait even longer. I have had to wait over a hour twice because the staff made a error checking me in. The staff here are young females and I have noticed a difference when the manager is there because there is less chatting and they are more polite to customers. The ONLY reason I have put up with this is because this location is convenient to me but I can't deal with it anymore and I now drive out of my way to the Colonial Heights location which is WAY BETTER, more professional and friendly staff and less wait times. This Chester location, take heed when I say that customers pay more attention than you think when having to wait in those waiting areas for a bed. We see and hear everything that the staff does. I'm done with y'all!

Overall, the young staff here clean the beds pretty good but they need to clean the shelves off and the small block table in each stall. I'm tired of seeing lint or hair on them almost every time. I have heard many times staff talking about their other coworkers. The staff here are very young and not very professional. I also have experienced long wait times because the staff were too busy talking instead of cleaning the bed in preparation for the next customer. The sale and clearance items are overpriced. Save money and buy your nail polish, lip balm, etc somewhere else. I think if I stay with Sun Tan City next season, I might try another location.

There was a nice lady who initially helped me with the signing up process but another lady, manager I think, kept interrupting her and appeared a little on the snooty side. Place appears pretty clean. Better than most tanning salons.

One of the most poorly ran businesses I have ever been to. Extremely rude service and half of the employees act like it's such a huge problem for them to assist you. I will never go back there. I will also never recommend this location to any of my friends. Totally not worth spending the money and receiving such sucky service. Wanna tell these rude young girls that if you work for a company, you are representing THAT COMPANY!!!!!!!!! Such an unprofessional business and I simply can not fathom the amount of disrespect I got from those poor people. Absolutely ridiculous. Pathetic.

I have been a member since they took over from Tan N Time as of today I will no longer do any kind of business with this company!!! Sun Tan City has the worst customer service and that so call online check in is BS!!!

I have never in my life seen such a poor ran business. I was a member as was my daughter. While tanning there they were mainly rude. And from day one everytime I went to tan they would have my birthday wrong they had the year as I was not even born yet. I asked them numerous times to fix this and it never happened. Then a friend of my daughters went to purchase her a year membership for Christmas and The female that him and my daughter both knew from school decided to talk about my daughter through facebook messages even going as far as talking about when my daughter applied for a job with this location. She at the time was asst. manager and she is talking to normal everyday people that walk in to get a membership about a member and also an ex employee which was all untrue about my daughter. When it was addressed to the Manager in charge nothing was done and sad to say it still hasnt and I am sure the employee is still there. So not only did she discredit this location along with the Business itself. She caused this location to lose at least 5 customers due to her comments about my daughter.
