Spin Cycle Laundromat

I've never had any issues with this laundromat up to this point-
the posted hours say until 10pm daily I was denied starting a load (just wash no dry- I was cut off before I could even get that far) at 8:40pm. I've been coming here a few months now & have seen many people walk in with loads as late as 9pm and not be turned away. These patrons seem to be friendly with the man that works here. This seems highly discriminatory in my opinion.

My apartment does not include laundry and this is my go to place! They are constantly sanitizing and wiping down machines. Prices aren't bad and I never have to wait for a machine. Another perk, there's a really nice liquor store next door with a great selection of craft beers and wine. A win, win if you ask me!

I'm unsure of what to rate this place as I love the services they provide and the laundromat itself; prices are reasonable, parking is decent, coin machine and a business with atm nearby. The problem I have with Spin Cycle is the constant group of people chain smoking cigarettes right outside the door...I made a comment about it once and it was not received well, or even at all... Besides the fact that it violates Somerville's business code, it's just plain gross. I'm coming to this business to CLEAN my clothes, not to inhale your secondhand smoke and stink up my clothes. Not sure if the smokers outside are patrons, management, or just random people, but it seems to be a constant social group out there. I'm attempting to contact management, and hope this is something that can be remedied, as I've seen previous reviews that echo this sentiment.

5 STAR QUALITY LAUNDROMAT!! I was totally frantic yesterday and the owner John was SO friendly. He helped me tremendously. I was able to get all my loads done for the Airbnb I needed to clean sheets for. A of the machines were FAST and CLEAN! For 4 loads, I was in and out in under 1.5 hours! John is so kind, this laundromat is so clean, and efficient! If you're in this area I HIGHLY recommend going to Spin Cycle!!

My wife and I just moved to the area about a week ago and needed to do laundry desperately (yes we actually moved dirty laundry to the new place). This place is right down the street from us, so we decided to check it out

The washers and dryers are top notch. They are large, energy efficient, clean and work great. It's $2.50 per wash (this is a great price) and you have several options in terms of temperature and other washing options

The dryers are very efficient as well -- you can add a quarter for I believe every 8 minutes of drying time you want. 54 minutes dried a large load very well.

The owner is friendly and is committed to keeping the place clean. He was cleaning up when I was taking my laundry out, was very friendly and said "Thank You" as I walked out the door. This goes a long way in my book

Other pluses are a change machine (perfect for when you forgot to bring all your quarters), LCD TV's on the wall (I went on Sunday and caught some of the football game while I was switching over the loads), large, very clean folding tables (brand new -- looked spotless when I got there) as well as laundry carts to move your laundry from the washer to the dryer and so on

All in all, this place is great. If you live in the area and need to visit a laundromat, look no further than here

I hate doing laundry. But I hate it a lot less since I started coming to Spin Cycle this past summer. A friend of mine has been coming here for a while and recommended it to me. Although my previous laundromat is closer to my apartment, I am much happier going a little bit farther to wash my clothes in a space that is clean, bright and uncluttered. Just as others have mentioned, Spin Cycle is extremely clean, the machines are top notch, the prices are reasonable, and the attendants are pleasant and helpful. Every time I've been here someone is either cleaning the floor or wiping down the machines. I also love that it's coin-op and has a change machine. I always misplace those re-loadable cards or end up leaving a balance behind when I move. So coin-op is a big plus to me.

Most recently, I was in this past Sunday - first time doing laundry here on a Sunday - and there was a woman working that I have not seen on weekdays. I was looking at some of my clothes to pre-treat a few items and she came over and asked if I needed help with the machine. I told her that I didn't have a question about the machine, but was looking at a couple of stains on my clothes. She immediately offered to take a look if I wanted, and was able to recommend a way to treat the stains. She also gave me a couple of hints to prevent the stains from really setting in before "laundry day." Very helpful and friendly.

As an aside, I was really surprised by the negative review. Kind of shocked, actually. All I can say is that I have never had a problem, the attendants have always been courteous and helpful, and I've never witnessed any issues in the 6+ months I've been coming here. I am extremely pleased with both the attendants and the machines, and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to a friend.

July Update -- Given the hot, humid weather lately, I wanted to update my original review with two words: AIR CONDITIONING! They have central A/C and are still 5-stars in my book.

Hands down, the best laundry mat I've been to. The place is great.

The guy that runs the place is a pro. It's super clean, with enough seats and machines that you shouldn't have to wait at all.

I read some of the other reviews before I went over and I agree with each one. I kept the cleanliness in mind as I walked in to get some laundry done and I was just blown away. He keeps the place clean like a surgeon would an operating table. I was impressed.

I hate laundry day just like everyone else and a little while ago I used to pack all my stuff in the trunk and go do laundry at the laundromat on Temple st. After they opened Spin Cycle Laundromat I figured that I'd give it a try and also stay close to my house doing laundry. One thing I noticed that they keep this place very clean, all day long there is a guy cleaning after ppl that do laundry. Rates are no more expensive than the other place, and after going a few times you almost feel like home. Maybe it's a bit too much, but you'll feel cozy going there. I like going here to do laundry, and I would recommend it to anyone!
P.S. related to stuff left behind after hour in the dryer, I always find my stuff there, the next day.

Probably the cleanest laundromat I have ever seen!!! They have somebody who watches and cleans the laundromat during the business hours. The place is spotless!!! The machines are very good and nothing is broken! WOW. To wash and dry your clothes you can be in and out in 1 hr 10 minutes - that's really fast!!!

It is a little bit more expensive than the other laundromats but as some would say 'you get what you pay for' - literally!!! I had a very pleasant experience.

I hate going to the laundromat with a passion. For the last four years I have lived in apartments with laundry in the building. Until now that is. Recently I moved to the Winter Hill area to a fabulous 2 bedroom apartment with a great landlord. The only drawback? No laundry in the building. So this morning I dragged myself to the highest rated laundromat in walking distance of new apartment. In this cas it was Spin Cycle.

This place is spotless and by that I mean immaculate. The older gentleman who attends the facilty seems gruff at first glance but he turned out to be quite nice in his own way. He traded me some bills from his own billfold when he noticed the change machine was picking a fight with me and my $5.

The prices are pretty standard as far as laundromats go and there are a number of different weighted machines to choose from. This is where I will be coming back moving forward. It is a bit of a hike but it seems worth it to me.
