The towing service was part of my Insurance- USAA. It was winter time, late at night and an hour away from their business. But their drivers (two separate times) could NOT have been any nicer or skilled. Like I said, they are about 45 minutes away from MY home in another city, so I'd call local, but if I use USAA again, I'll be happy with their service.

Blew a tire just outside of town heading to my parent's for Thanksgivin. Called "Expert Auto" first and they wanted $125 just to tow me off the highway before changing the flat. Nolte's also said they'd have to tow me off the highway to change it, but didn't charge me to do so. The guy was super nice and funny which helped calm my worried kids who were with me. They got there fast, took the car to a safe place, changed the tire quickly, and for less than $60 we were on our way! Thank you!!!

The husband and I picked up our U-Haul truck here for our recent move, and while I was skeptical of these off site locations, in this case, I am happy to stand corrected! They called me on Saturday to confirm Monday pickup (after I pestered U-Haul about where, exactly, I was supposed to be getting this truck). They had our 20' truck and a boatload of moving pads ready bright and early Monday morning and the paperwork went smoothly. When we called back 20 minutes later, concerned that the truck was, uh, not quite big enough, they immediately got on the horn and called back promptly with a 26' truck for us to trade into, after helping the husband consider the pros and cons of adding a trailer to the 20' truck. They even helpfully backed the truck out for the husband so he didn't have to start by backing it up!
These guys are clearly mechanics first, customer service folks second, but I was very happy with the service we received. Plus, they have a nice framed news article on the wall about how they once spent two days hauling a semi truck out of a frozen lake, so clearly a U-Haul truck is pretty small potatoes for these guys. If you have any choice at all in where to pick up your U-Haul, get it here!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Katie H.Oshkosh, WI1255Jul 24, 2017
I love Nolte's. They are fair, honest and very helpful. We have brought 3 cars here since last year and have helped us with all of our problems, charging us hundreds of dollars less than Bergstrom quoted us. My car started making a bad ticking noise after I had it serviced at Bergstrom for something I thought was under my cars warranty with them( not surprisingly it wasn't and denied helping me) so I did not want to take it back to them. Chuck answered the phone when I called and said I could bring it right over for a test ride to see what was wrong with it. When I got there Mike took it for a ride and into the back to check it out. He came out and informed me that my back tire was not secured properly and that I was lucky I brought it in, he asked me if I had the wheel off recently, Bergstrom took my tires off and never secured the back one properly. I am lucky that my tire didn't break off on the highway! Mike had my car for the ride and fixed me up and should have charged me for at least an hour worth of work but didn't, he even asked me to stop by in two days to check up on my car. I can't thank them for their service, honesty and customer service enough!! If you're looking for a place to take your car this is the place!

As a traveler, one of your worst fears is your car breaking down and worrying about getting ripped off by a mechanic because you don't know the area and you don't know who you can trust. Unfortunately, this happened to my mom and I last weekend (6 1/2 hours away from home) and we could not find a place that was open to help us. Luckily, Brian from Nolte's picked up the phone and from then on it was a fantastic experience. They were incredibly swamped, but he made time for us because "he would want someone to do the same for his sister and mom". He could have easily charged us 5x as much, but he was honest, friendly and extremely down-to-earth and made the unfortunate experience not so bad. Every local we talked to that day (at least 30 to be honest) reiterated what we now knew, that Nolte's was THE mechanic to call in town and that they were the most honest, fair and hard-working mechanics in the area. Thank you Nolte's (specifically Brian) for your kindness and for helping us get back on the road safely! I recommend 100%!
