Our kitchen remodel just finished and we're very happy with the work. Our project manager, Chris Klene, was great in answering questions, keeping us informed and helping us through the process. Antonio, Mario, and their entire crew did fantastic work and didn't miss a single detail in a pretty big kitchen. We wanted to celebrate Easter in the new kitchen, and Chris and the entire crew worked the Saturday before the holiday to finish the installation. We couldn't be more pleased.

Fantastic Kitchen and Bath Remodeling by Fairfax Kitchen and Bath! I recently hired Fairfax Kitchen and Bath for a kitchen and bath remodeling project, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Their exceptional service, craftsmanship, and attention to detail made the entire experience a breeze.
From the initial consultation to the final installation, the team at Fairfax Kitchen and Bath displayed professionalism and expertise. They listened attentively to my requirements and provided valuable insights and suggestions to enhance the design. Their communication throughout the project was excellent, keeping me informed and involved every step of the way.

I never used them. I tried for weeks to get an appointment for someone to come out to our home. After, I was supposed to go to their showroom to look at things and discuss design. The designer's first available appointment was three weeks out. Okay, that's fine, I can wait. The day of her appointment--she canceled on me saying she was sick. She never sent anyone to reschedule or even told her company. I checked in after a week to reschedule. She said she was still out. Nothing else. No backup person. After the third week I called the company. They didn't even know about me, my appointment etc. They also said there's no one else to help me. They can forward me to the manager but I basically just need to wait for Sena to come back.
Terrible customer service. Unreliable. I chose to take my business elsewhere. If a company is 100% reliant on one designer --and doesn't have a backup to help customers -- I can't imagine if I did do business with them and something happened that needed mediation. Who do you go to? Who is the next person to step in? Basically you just wait...I support smaller businesses. If they called me to explain and kept in communication it would have been better. But when i called they didn't even know about my appointment.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 36319664Nov 14, 2021
Five stars for Justin Bressler, the project manager in charge of my mom's new kitchen. My mom has been fantasizing about a kitchen renovation for over thirty years and Justin's work exceeded her wildest dreams! From choosing finishings to appliance support to decor suggestions, Justin was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. No question was silly and he was patient and thorough in his explanations. He is detail-oriented and takes pride in the entire process. After visiting mid-project, it was clear that my mother is in good hands. Hire Justin for your next project big or small.

Having gone through an extensive kitchen and master bath renovation with FKB, I can say with certainty I'll never use them again. What they claimed would be a 3-6 month construction project has taken them well over a year, and that was after delaying starting for months. During that time frame, it's been one boondoggle after another. We had two different project managers quit or be fired, though with the limited amount of actual project management they actually did maybe that didn't matter. One would expect project managers to ensure work was done to code, subcontractors did quality work, the worksite wasn't a total mess, the materials were onsite & correct, work was completed on schedule, etc. However, we really got little of that from them. We caught numerous code violations and mistakes ourselves and had to twist their arm to remedy them. Their subcontractors were constantly cutting corners and doing sloppy work. Basically every piece of cabinetry and other materials were incorrect when delivered, and despite this happening repeatedly, FKB would wait until they needed to be installed to actually check, and repeatedly delayed the project by weeks or months waiting for replacement pieces when they could have caught issues at delivery. Eventually we gave up on expecting FKB to plan ahead and ensure quality work on their own and basically started managing the project ourselves, which is how it eventually got done. I'm only giving 2 stars because doing that we eventually got the damn thing over the finish line and it came out ok. Next time I'll either hire a firm that does real project management or just manage the thing myself.

We are thrilled with the new kitchen, even better than we had hoped, so pleased with the work Fairfax Kitchen did. They remodeled everything from the floors, cabinetry, lighting, etc. Loved the designer, and the work crew, managed by Brian, was on time, hardworking and so professional, giving us brilliant suggestions and advice. Could not say enough good things.

Due to poor communication and coordination. we ended up staying in a hotel for 18 nights! The various crews would come for a couple of hours or not show up at all. They missed a Friday and said they'd come Saturday instead- nope.
The bathroom remodel and flooring install (whole condo) was delayed for several weeks with no reply to my inquiries as to start date. The flooring was installed in the wrong direction. (We left it) I asked at initial meeting that there be small grout space on floor and shower wall-caught that one in time for at least the floor and had to go buy spacers myself. Guy on the phone accused me of making a last minute change. They tried to install the tub over a crack in concrete floor and with no insulation between tub and outside wall. There was a mixup of who was to purchase it. There was a pipe leak behind the wall and they were going to install tub over sewage stain. The Condo Association had the cracked pipe repaired within 1day. I went to have a final meeting with Sam and Phil at the store and they were both no shows with no contact. (was told that delay in project start and missed meeting were due to illness) I rescheduled with Sam the following day and was told that they discovered another pipe leak behind sink area. Several times I have emailed, texted and left voicemails to get documentation for my insurance company with absolutely no response. Currently the tub doesn't hold water for baths and the shower switch between the shower head on hose and fixed shower head isn't working. Again no one has replied. No one seemed to be a point of contact that would coordinate and oversee the project. The work was good, but the communication and follow up not so much. still waiting to hear from them!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J C.Alexandria, VA02Nov 7, 2021
I hired Fairfax Kitchen Bath (FKB) for remodeling my bathroom. Some of the work they did was okay, but some things weren't. Two items that stood out were an uneven floor, where there was a slope from one corner to the corner on the opposite side, resulting in lippage along the tiles, and the water in the bathtub was backward, where setting the lever on cold resulted in hot water coming out of the faucet and vice-versa. Additionally, my point of contact with the company seemed to not want to deal with it, as they avoided communicating with me. I'm giving a two-star rating instead of a one because I had other contractors correct for and finish the work when I could have continued working with FKB - I just didn't have enough confidence in their work or communication to do so.

I'm changing my review after the manager took time to address my concern with an offer to meet me. I appreciate the time and effort to bring me back as a customer. I will consider this business in the future if I have a need.

We very much apologize for the bad experience while visiting our showroom. As management here at Fairfax Kitchen & Bath, all customers are important to us; and, we want them to have a positive experience.
After reading the review, I personally investigated with the people involved. While I cannot go into details on personnel matters, I can say the people involved were receptive to how things could have been handled better.
We also apologize for not explaining why we ask about the age of a home. The year a home was built, while not conclusive, gives us a clue to the electrical and plumbing systems inside the walls. It helps us judge what kind of work might be needed to comply with the Building Code and pass county inspections.
We appreciate the constructive criticism and would be happy to provide a complimentary in-home estimate.
--Management, Fairfax Kitchen & BathJun 9, 2018Previous reviewI didn't feel welcomed or valued from the minute I walked through the door to inquire about service. I asked what I thought was a simple question about the package deals offered on the website and was immediately told that it was unreasonable to expect it to support my simple kitchen and bath project. When I asked follow up questions, the project manager came out to talk at me vice to me. As opposed to offering to come out and provide an estimate or even design options, he proceeded to try and baffle me with a lecture on supply chain logistics and the complexity associated with my design requirement. In fact, his first question was "how old is your house" vice "how can I help you" or "what are you trying to accomplish". The whole experience was patronizing to some one who was actually open and able to expand budget to accommodate superior service. Instead I left with confirmation that there are still businesses out there that prefer a woman walk in with a man as an escort. "Here little lady, let me tell you why this isn't for you." At the end of the discussion, the project manager informed me that the package deal was a marketing strategy geared to drive up number of calls. The deal wasn't designed for the every day homeowner customer. It's primarily for landlords or homeowners staging their homes for quick sell. Wow!
Bottom line: The advertising is misleading and management makes no attempt to connect with the customer that they don't deem of value. - Randy R.Ashburn, VA023May 4, 2019
After talking with 4 companies for our bathroom remodel, we chose Fairfax Kitchen and Bath -- and are very happy we did. We are incredibly pleased with the result, as well as the process it took to get there. Sena was excellent at helping us with our design -- we never felt pressured or rushed into making decisions. She was willing to give us several design options, and was very patient as we changed our minds a few times, prior to the start of the construction. The crew that did the work, headed by project manager Chris Klene, was amazing. Antonio, Marco, Mario, Juan, and all the others did impeccable work and were always extremely polite and diligent. They were on time every single day, and only left in evening after everything was neatly put away. I can't say enough good things about Chris Klene. He is incredibly nice and extremely knowledgeable. He was amazingly prompt at returning messages and phone calls -- it felt like we were his only customer, when I know for a fact we weren't. I was confident the entire time that we were in good hands with him, and the job would be completed within the proposed time, and at a superior level. We couldn't be happier with the finished product, and I would not hesitate to use this company again. A+
