I wanted to add this note. Although I wasn't very happy with the studio I am very happy with management. Management jumped right into action to resolve my issues and concerns. This school might me not be right for me but it might be right for someone. Like I stated before I don't think this school is a scam I just think they have some serious changes to make. After communicating with management, i was leftbwith the impression big changes are going to be made soon. I might check back in with them next year.

I'm not going to say it's a scam but it's not worth the money they are asking you to pay. I should've walked away as soon as she pulled out a one year $1800 contract.
I've been to a few acting studios Normally for around $150 a month you can go to.as many classes that you want as long as they are in your age group and/or skill level. You get discounts on special courses and lectures that come up. All access to studio equipment for taping reels and demo tapes. Easy! Not here though. For$ 299 down and $130 a month, you get one two hour class a week. And Man was I upset after my first class.
I couldn't focus because kids are running around playing and screaming in the background. the business office , film studio, receptionist desk, waiting room and "classroom" are all in one open space which is very distracting and weird. I'm use to students being placed in classes based on age and/or skill level.... Nope, not here. Everyone who signs up is thrown in one class. 15mins of my class was spent trying to get a 10 year old to just open her mouh to speak. Another 20 mins was spent trying to get teenagers to stay focused. Remember I'm paying $130 for a single 2 hour course. Talk about a waste my time and money. With my ONE YEAR CONTACT I'm allowed to take only one course every 9 weeks, unless I want to pay more monthly that is. The only way you can cancel your contact is by certified mail within 72 hours which makes it impossible to do. Smh. I found a much better studio the following weekend for $150 a month. Btw, I wasn't asked to sign a contract either. - Michael B.Tampa, FL181Apr 2, 2015First to Review
This place is a joke and a ripoff!! SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!! I did an "audition" at a local mall and I was "selected" to do another "audition" at their studio. When I got there I was greeted by a woman who claimed she has been in the modeling/acting business since 1990. She reviewed my previous acting experience and told me that it didn't matter. She said that I needed acting coaching, which coincidentally is the service they provide. She then proceeded to hard sell me acting lessons and said that I would not succeed in the industry unless I was coached. The coaching lessons run from $1K to $8K and are non-accredited. When asked about the statistics of the people who have succeeded with their "coaching," this woman dismissed its importance. She could not provide this data. To top it off she was incredibly rude to my wife when discussing my acting history and basically told her to shut up. BE WARY OF THIS PLACE! ZERO STARS!

Dear Michael B.,
I am very sorry that you had an unpleasant visit. I know that when we discovered your complaint in April, our former CEO tried to reach out to you personally to resolve this with you. Regretfully, his attempts were unsuccessful.
I would like to take this opportunity to explain our company to you and anyone else interested. Our business model is divided into three departments: Production, Studio Rental and Talent Development. On the production side we offer photography, video and design services. We specialize in company training and product demonstration videos. We also rent the studio for events and third party productions. On the Talent Development side, we have a number of workshops for people that wish to try out acting, singing and modeling as either a hobby or career. Yes, we have used the word "audition" for our appointments with our talent director. It's not an attempt to scam or mislead people. The reason for this is that we screen potential clients before accepting them or advising them to enroll in our curriculum. I am deeply sorry if there was any confusion. As a result of your complaint, we have been steering away from that word in our new promotional materials. As for the programs, once enrolled, our clients have access to a variety of workshops packages based on their interests and level of seriousness. As for pricing, the highest priced package you mentioned included three years worth of workshops, agent auditions, demo reel production, multiple video audition recordings and headshot/comp card packages. In full transparency, we have removed this option. Our workshop packages actually price from $250 (one 9-week session) to our highest package at $3,995 (which includes 15 9-week workshops, 20 video submissions/audition recordings, demo reel production, headshot photo shoot and audition opportunities with all agents, filmmakers and casting agents that we bring in to see our clients). All of our larger packages include an option for a price reduction if paid in full or an option for monthly payments. As for your complaint about a hard sell, that was dealt with internally, and we are sorry that occurred.
As of August 2015, our studio has had a new management structure. We believe in being open, honest and faithful to our clients. You can see this in the positive reviews that for some reason are being filtered out of our Yelp rating. I would like to offer you an opportunity to come and chat with us directly about your experience. Our studio phone number is (813) 873-9400 or you can email us directly at info@4dstudiosllc.com. If you choose to call, please ask to speak with Alex or Jim. We are not open on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. Again, I sincerely apologize for all the issues you addressed in your review. I hope we can come to a resolution. Thank you!
