Food Lion

Here's another example why you should look at your receipts carefully before leaving the store. While my wife checking out at the Food Lion across from LOWES, the cashier added in a book of stamps and a carton of eggs. My wife bought 1 carton of eggs but the receipt showed two. No book of stamps at all were purchased. My wife checked the receipt, as she customarily does before leaving the store, and discovered the "errors". The eggs I can understand but, the book of stamps??

In any event, she immediately visited the customer service desk looking for a refund. Instead of being apologetic, the employee admitted the absence of a book of stamps but insisted that there were no other errors. My wife had to go through the cart item by item and the receipt line by line to prove that she did not have two cartons of eggs. Again, examine your receipts carefully, especially if your older. If you do see an error like this, you might want to report it to the manager. And report it here too so we can all be reminded to be careful.

We are fairly new to the area, and this is the closest grocery store to our house. It is also next to the CVS my girlfriend uses. That being said, they do have a good selection of products and reasonable weekly specials. Their prices overall aren't too bad (inflation not withstanding), compared to other local chains like Lowe's Foods and Harris Teeter.

Staff is usually very friendly, and there's typically an electric cart available should one of us be having a bad day. (unlike Walmart)

Of course they have a rewards card, with an app, which I am still learning.
