Ultimately the food was good and satisfying. The burger was particularly substantial and came with a nice helping of yummy curly fries. The Reuben was slightly less substantial but what it lacked in size was made up for in taste. The tasty corned beef, sauerkraut, and sauce was on a soft marble rye, beautiful blending of flavors.

However, until I ordered and ate, the whole experience was a little frustrating. We are traveling and like to support kosher establishments. We did the research, seemed like they were open, we tried calling to confirm without any luck.... We even left multiple messages, as advised on their outgoing message. So when we arrived I saw the restaurant, knocked on the door, saw someone inside that I believe saw me, but still no luck. I joined the relatively long line of folks at the reception desk where I was told to just knock on the door of the restaurant. The receptionist called to the restaurant to tell them I was there. Then I placed my order with a nice person and the good food came out quickly. It's only take out which is fine. Too bad the process was so frustrating.

This is a great little deli to pick up lunch if you are in the area. It is less than a mile from my home and I have seen it continuously on my Yelp list and finally decided to go. It is in inside the Memphis Jewish Home and Rehab off of Walnut grove near Forest Hill Irene. It is definitely a place the patients eat with the family members during visitation.

I ordered the meat loaf that was soaked in a hearty slightly sweet tomato gravy--delicious! The green beans were really good and the mashed potatoes were really thick like I prefer and a rich buttery taste like granny's! I also had a slice of apple pie that was really good with slight firm apples and a doughy crust that was great. I will return for another Sunday special soon.

If you can get over the fact that this deli is inside a retirement home you will be pleasantly surprised as to how good the food is. They have a full salad bar and regular items that include burgers, fries, and soup. Also the cashier/cook, bobby, is very accommodating and can pretty much make you anything including her off the menu specialty "the bobby wrap" which is essentially a grilled or fried chicken wrap, but nevertheless it is awesome. Everyday they have different specials so make sure to call them up before going, but if your lucky enough to catch them on fried chicken or wing day you'll be set for life
