Incredible. I love me some Hansen's but hadn't checked this spot out and glad I did. For context, I've only visited 1x (yesterday) but the experience (thank you Margaret) alone drove me to write this.

Goal: Running shoes for my 13-year old son (secondarily running shoes for me). MARGARET to the rescue!!!

Margaret was incredibly patient with both of us. Through throughout the process from inspecting our old shoes, to measurement, to assessing gait both walking and on the treadmill (including recording the treadmill sessions to compare). I've never been more impressed in a running-focused store. We are committed to Gazelle sports and thank you Margaret! Occasionally I use brick and mortars to physically inspect goods and then bounce online for price comparisons and potential purchase. If there is a premium on price, if you received a fraction of the service I did, I hope you'll consider buying gear at Gazelle Sports.

Great selection of the kind of shoes I like.

BUT horribly rude employees.

Gazelle Sports is a local, Michigan owned company with locations throughout the state. They specialize is health and fitness wear. Their selection of running shoes is expansive and each worker has a lot of expertise and experience in their field.

What I love about Gazelle is they carry my favorite brand of running socks, Feetures. Sometimes they're even buy two get one free! I never have to worry about blisters when wearing these socks so I don't mind spending the extra money on them.

My only real complaint is they don't carry size XS women clothing. Maybe the demand isn't high in that size. The size small clothing they offer is often times too big for me to wear comfortably. I usually end up finding it elsewhere online if I wish to purchase.

The store is large, with items spaced out to offer social distancing. It's always clean. There's even a treadmill in store to test out running shoes! How fun!

This evening, June 3, 2023, I had the delightful experience of making a purchase at Gazelle Sports In downtown Birmingham where I was assisted by the most patient, tolerant 16-year-old absolutely adorable young man who was none other than Asher. I had no idea of what I wanted other than OnCloud tennis shoes as my neighbor had a pair and I thought they were "cool." Sweet Asher patiently brought box after box of tennis shoes for me and when I asked that he choose the pair for me he did exactly that and I wore them out of the store. Fifty-three years separate Asher from me in chronological age, but he treated my indecisiveness with utmost kindness. I think I'm going to buy another pair of shoes, but only if Asher is there!

For shoes this would be a good place to go. Make sure you pay your meter they love to hang around right around here...
But I wish they had more running "do dads" than they had. I had a running team gift exchange and we always like running stuff but they had a few things but not anything cutting edge. I don't know what I expected, but something more than a sock rack. That said there were a lot of shoes and a treadmill to try them on at. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and if it weren't for me needing specifically...dodads...then I would have been in heaven.
Oh and the clothes looked nice but more yoga-y and less running-y. But could be the season.

Was my first time visiting and I'm a novice runner. As such, I needed a lot of attention and recommendations. Kelly was terrific, generous with her time, and very knowledgeable. Left as a very satisfied customer with a couple pair of new shoes. Will certainly return - this is what in-store retail service should be like. Exceptional.

I had a great experience today. This was my first time visiting. I will definitely be back. Kelly and Kelly assisted me and answered all my questions and helped me find the perfect pair of shoes. I would highly recommend visiting the store next time you need new running/walking shoes.
