Decided to pop by mid day Saturday to Applebees with my daughter. She was craving macaroni and cheese and we were in the area. For being about 2p on a Saturday, the place was definitely busy but there was no chaos which was nice. We were seated right away and greeted with a minute.
We ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly as well. She certainly had no complaints about her meal! As for me, the chicken wonton tacos-- so yummy!! Four tacos for $10, they filled me up. I will definitely order them again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa W.Chicopee, MA04Aug 26, 2023
We ate there around 12:30pm today, and it was virtually empty, yet it took almost a half hour for our food to arrive. Food arrived, and they put the wrong sauce Then I was going to cut the sandwich in half, but both sets of utensils looked like someone ate off of them. I told the waiter and his initial response was, "yeah"? He said it like it wasn't his problem until he finally snapped out of it and got some clean utensils for us.
We will never go back there again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike P.Chicopee, MA02215Jul 4, 2023
It was our anniversary and my in-laws offered to take us out. While we would like to have gone to a higher end place, we offered up Applebee's due to the fact that they have budgetary considerations.
We were greeted upon entry and seated immediately. Our server, Kelly, met us shortly after we were seated and was a highlight of our visit. She took our drink orders immediately and they were brought to the table within minutes.
My in-laws recommended the back of the menu specials (2 for $25 or 2 for $30). I ordered a classic cheeseburger and my wife ordered the oriental chicken salad. The others had whiskey bacon burgers and chicken Alfredo. For appetizers, we ordered mozarella and spinach artichoke dip.
The appetizers came out fairly quickly and were hot. The spinach artichoke dip was enjoyed by all. Nice, gooey, and flavorful! I don't think that they are made fresh but the chips were very good. Thin and crispy. The mozarella sticks were ok. They didn't have that gooey cheese pull but did taste good. the sauce was good too.
My wife goes to Applebee's often with her friend and her go-to is the oriental chicken salad. She found it fresh, crispy, and very flavorful. A home run for her! She was very happy with the meal.
Everyone was quite pleased with their meals. My father-in-law, who is notorious for going out of his way to find fault in restaurant meals, used the words "delicious" and "perfect". That's a first! My mother-in-law and mother found theirs "delicious" and my son ate everything on his plate.
I ordered my classic cheeseburger medium and was expecting a thick burger with an almost pink center. What I received was actually a smash burger. When I saw it, I was a little dubious about how juicy it would be. I have to say though, it was very tasty. The burger had a nice crust on it and retained a juiciness that was very good. The distribution of the lettuce, tomato, and the pickle were perfect and I did not have to reconstruct it to get the right flavor profile.
My burger came with fries which were ok, but nothing special. they were seasoned fine but were not crispy. If they were fresh out the frier, they would have been much better. I'm not saying they are a deal breaker or anything, just that they have room for improvement.
As I mentioned, Kelly was the star of the show. She was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. She was always there when we needed her (clear the table, drink refills, take out boxes, etc...). From a service perspective, she was awesome. If every server could emulate a little bit of her energy, dining out would always be a joy.
As for the atmosphere, if you have been to Applebee's, you know the vibe. It is always homey. The place was clean. No messy tables waiting to be bussed. No crumbs on the chairs or floor. Bathrooms were also very clean. Everything well maintained and in working order.
The only gripe I have was the flatware. The knife and fork come wrapped and banded which is fine. However, on this occasion, the knife and fork were not clean. They had residue on them. It looked as if the dishwasher had been malfunctioning or something. It was a little off putting. When I pointed this out out to Kelly, she just smiled, said "no problem" and brought us a whole new table's worth of clean flatware. Nice recovery.
Now I know Applebee's is not "fine dining" and national chains sometimes use pre-processed items but it is what it is. I usually tend toward local mom and pop's, but I found today's visit to be a great experience. I will definitely head back to this location without hesitation and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to eat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 11, 2019Updated review
I'm really upset with Yelp's app. :-(
I tried to update this restaurant 3 times and it completely erased all that I put and it was a lot. So I'm just going to add the photos and my receipt. Thank you Nicole for making sure that my family and I didn't have any complaints this time.
Happy Veterans Day.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0Oct 27, 2019Previous reviewLast night my family and I came here for dinner.
Let's start at the beginning. This is a really clean restaurant and looks fairly new. It's Fall season, so the lobby is fixed really nice. We waited for about a minute or two because no greeter was at the door.
Drinks- Next, we sat down and our waitress Melissa took our order for drinks. She was really nice and knew the menu by hard if we needed her assistance.
Appetizer- My son wanted appetizers, so he and I shared cheese sticks. They were pretty good, but we didn't like the marinara sauce. It was too pasty and didn't taste well at all.
Entrees- I ordered the riblet basket with mashed potatoes and my son ordered a half rack of ribs and a baked potato. My husband only wanted appetizers for his dinner. He love pretzels, so he had pretzels, hot wings and a side salad.
Outcome- I was really disappointed. I received my riblets and they were ice cold in the middle. They were nasty and I sent them back. Our waitress didn't bring the ribs back, another employee did and she didn't speak. I looked at the ribs and the presentation of the plate. They fixed the ribs as though that was a fresh batch. Not! When I moved the riblets, the one that I broke and ate a piece of, it was hidden behind the other ribs and I just laughed.
You can clearly see that they stuck the plate in the microwave to let the ribs cook. I didn't eat them, but my husband said he will take them and eat them for later. I end up not eating any of my food, just ate a piece of pretzel and the cheese sticks that were ordered with me and my son's dinner special that Applebee's have.
Melissa was attentive, so when she brought the check she noticed I didn't eat and I told her that I wasn't pleased, but my husband will take them and fix them up. She apologized and my husband paid for the bill.
I always do the tips, so she received $8 for her tip.
If I had to do it all over again, most likely I will just stick with the cheese sticks and strawberry lemonade. It was really good. Besides that, my family enjoyed their meal and I was satisfied with that.
Will I be returning? Probably not! - Ricka F.Holyoke, MA01Oct 10, 2022
SERVICE SUCKED. lets start with my family and I traveled 35 mins to Applebees because we wanted that for dinner. walk in and waited atleast 5 mins for anyone to come and approach us. after someone approaching us not saying sorry about the delay or wait time, takes us on a merry go round for a CLEAN table because everyone she was going to sit us at was DIRTY, after 4 dirty table the "host" puts us up front by the cold door, we asked for a back table, the "host" sprayed on a napkin and cleaned the table, it was STILL dirty with left over rice from her napkin not being soaked with sanitizer, after asking to re wipe a table, the waitress never came over and looked right at us, really rude.
I won't be going back there and that's a disappointment. everyone was straight rude.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steve P.Chicopee, MA01Jan 25, 2023
We had one of the best dining experiences at chicopee applebees. The entire staff was extremely attentive from the moment we walked in to the time we left. The bar tender Eric was johnny on the spot refilling our drinks while telling dad jokes, he was very engaging. Both my wife and I were very impressed with the manager on duty, he was very engaging with his staff and customers. As for the food.....well...it was great! We had chicken and broccoli Alfredo, it was fantastic! Very saucy, lots if chicken....the best thing about this meal, the broccoli wasn't over cooked. Even though the restaurant was very busy the food came out fast and steaming hot. This was our first time coming to this applebees, but it definitely won't be the last time.

Driving home and stopped in for lunch today (Wednesday), our food was quick, hot & delicious! Michelle L. was our server and honestly, I can't remember having more friendly, attentive and overall excellent service in Massachusetts! She made the visit such a lovely surprise and relaxing. We will stop by again when we are nearby and hopefully get Michelle as our server again.

I was in town working overnight decided to grab chicken shrimp mash potatoes. It was late Wednesday night 3/17 around 10:30 pm, After waiting a long while for the food they give me my food and say sorry we are all out of silverware. Really what restaurant run out of silverware. The next day I called to speak with a manager she wasn't very bright, She blamed it on the people receiving the stimulus check........ Unbelievable next time before ordering ask if they have silverware.
