Manhattan, NY
$1 for a slice of Cheese Pizza.
Service is lightning fast. The pizza here may not be all that flavorful but it's always fresh. If you're in the area and low on cash, this is a great place to visit.
Some seating is available towards the back. There is a little counter towards the front of the restaurant as well. Garlic powder, crushed red pepper, and oregano are within reach. -
Review from Morgen B.
Their pizza slices are smaller than any other 2 Bros I've been too...and their seating in the back is probably dirtier.
So out of the $1 pizza places, this one is lamest. But hey...$1. -
Review from Jerry K.
Spend all your money drinking at St. Marks Place? Don't worry. We can fill that stomach on a dollar.
For a buck you can't go wrong. Plus its decent pizza.
However the 2 dollar special slices is where it's at. Chicken slices, white cheese slices, all fairly good for the few bucks left in your wallet. -
Review from Gloria C.
Late night pizza after drinking is always good.
At a dollar a fresh slice, its a pretty good deal. The pizza is ok at best, but hey at a dollar , you could do much worse. -

By far, one of my favorite pizza shops in the city!! They have the right balance between cheese, marina and dough for a perfect quick bite everytime.

Probably my fault thinking that I'd get a slice of pizza for $1 that lives up to the "best pizza on the planet" NYC legend that I've heard about all of my life.
However,
- They are fast
- It is super inexpensive
- I didn't get sick
So if I were rating 2 Bros for being fast and cheap, as well as me not getting food poisoning, I'd give it a 5. But, since it was my first slice ever in NYC, I expected something amazing. On the amazing scale, it gets a 2. -
Review from Celia Y.
Best $1 pizza ever! I've actually had $1 pizza at other places but this one is definitely better. They are super fast, the pizza is fresh, and the location is so convenient! A life saver for when you stay out late drinking or hanging out with friends in the neighborhood. They even have a sitting area in the back, although it's small and cramped.
This is the best of the $1 pizza places I've been to, but definitely not the best pizza I've had. It's still decent and definitely worth the $1 though!! -
Review from Anne K.
Dude, it's $1 for a decent slice of pizza. Just eat it, enjoy it, and forget it - until your next late night drunken escapade.

Definitely not the best, but it's great deal at $1 for a slice of cheese pizza. Service was quick, we were in and out the door in less than 30 secs.. -

I have been to many many places around the world and 2 Brothers is by far the best $1 slice i have ever had. Is it the best slice of pizza ever NO not close but for a dollar its heaven. The seating sucks and its always super hot inside however there are a million places you can post up outside and eat. The service is a lot faster then expected, especially when there is a line outside. Its a great mid day or late night stop, drunk or sober probably one of the best slices you will ever have for a $1

I was told the pizza here tastes like cardboard, but that person is a food snob. It's true that it's not great pizza which is why I'm giving it 3 stars, but really, a slice of cheese for $1 is hard to beat especially if you have the late night munchies. There isn't exactly much tomato sauce in here and the crust is not crisp, but it will do the trick. I would go there again without hesitation if I was hungry, near by and didn't want to spend much. That said, there's so much good pizza in NYC, and even other cheap mediocre pizza around here that for a little more you can get better pizza. Bottom line, if you feel like spending just a buck, go for it, due to the amount of traffic they get the pizza is usually fresh.

What is the first thing to do when you visit to New York? Try New York style pizza.. DUH! I stumbled across this place when I went to St. Marks for the first time. As I was walking around, I stumbled upon this place.
My friends and I wanted to get a little snack before getting dinner so we decided to try their $1.00 a slice of pizza. You go down the counter to pick your choice of pizza, you pick up your pizza and pay. I ordered the cheese pizza and it was really delicious! You can not go wrong with $1.00 slice of pizza! I sprinkled a lot of red pepper flakes on my pizza to make it even tastier. The first thing I will do when I go back to New York again is to visit this place! -

East Rockaway, NY
This is pretty much the best of the 2 Bros. locations. It has a great regular pie ($1/slice $8/pie), and a large selection of specialty pies($2/slice or less). My favorites are the chicken Parmesan and the sausage (or meatball) and peppers pies. They make a fantastic white pizza with olives, but as I've mentioned in several other reviews, I'm allergic to cow milk and its derivatives, and while mozzarella cheese doesn't cause too much of a reaction, ricotta does, so I generally try to avoid it. Once in a while, though, I'll risk the inflammation for tasty white pizza goodness.
The place is usually hot. Very hot. It's a tiny building with a HUGE oven in it that is constantly cooking pizza, what do you want? In the summer, I usually try to go to the wide-open 2 Bros. locations, but in the winter, it can be a welcoming beacon of warmth and pizza fumes. I mean, who doesn't love smelling like pizza? Chances are, if you smell like pizza, you won't even NEED a pickup line in NY. I kid, but I do love pizza, and I do love 2 Bros. -

On a serious-note of my last review, where else can you find $1 pizza (other than frozen pizza on sale at your local supermarket)?
I'm a cheapstake when it comes to comparing prices for quality pizza. More than $4/slice is not acceptable in my book. In this economy, $1 pizza is the new 5 cent apples of the Great Depression. Inferior ingredients, possibly but they make it look flawless. Everything is preheated so you get your pizza in less than a minute or a minute and a half, guaranteed. And for $2.75, you get 2 slices and a soda..they are REALLY giving other pizza parlors in the city a run for their money AND slices.
What's really interesting is the seating area...you can either sit or stand and the seating is quite interesting. The tables are very low, like knee-low, like a lounge table. I'm always looking forward to sitting down and eat but there are always loud teenagers here.1 Previous Review:

$1.50 for a mushroom slice? No way. Queens and Brooklyn can't even fight you.

New York, NY
It's $1 a slice. You can't really go wrong. What a deal. I never looked for a bathroom here. Hey, if it's this cheap, if they had a bathroom, I imagine it'll be overrun by homeless folks, so I wouldn't use it. There's no a/c, this place is wide open and not too big. The crowd usually spills out onto the sidewalk and street to eat anyway. The surprise is that the pizza actually tastes ok.

Not exactly Keste but for $1 it's a great deal and not a bad slice of pizza in the least bit.
5 stars for the quality, speedy service and the cost.
3 stars for the pizza taste. -

$1 a slice? Seriously? This pizza could be terrible for all I care but at one dollar it's worth it and this pizza is actually some of my favorite late night foods.

Review from Mike O.
How do you beat it? You can't beat the price. You CAN beat the pizza, but the price is so damn good it doesn't matter! Essentially the same as all the other 2 Bros. Pizza caves around the city, although at this one you're more likely to hear a few soused NYU kids slurring their words over two slices and a coke on an early Thursday evening.

Review from Linh N.
One of the cheapest spot to get $1 pizza. Last I remember, I have to pay $2.75 for a slice at a shop around the corner from my place.
There's actually a trick to buying these $1 slices. If you want them fresh and tasty, get them when there's a huge line. Cause that just means a new batch of pies are coming out hot and fresh. Now, that's worth the $1. Or, you can just ask them to give you a fresh slice - that works too. If you like them stale and cold which is just sitting in that revolving heater, go when there's no people.
Great late night snack before and/or after being drunk. -

If you can turn down any dollar pizza, then you must not like pizza much. 2 Bros Pizza is definitely my favorite cheap pizza place - the others just don't taste as good. I always get two slices whenever I'm around. Only problem is that there aren't many seats and it's usually burning hot (so take it to go in the summer).

Review from Lee L.
I know there are LOTS of 2 Bros Pizza shacks popping up everywhere in the city now, but this one on St. Marks is extra special compared to all the others. Here is why:
1.) They are on St. Marks so there is heavy volume even late into the night, meaning the pizza is always fresh and plentiful.
2.) This is the only 2 Bros I know of that has a huge selection of tempting special toppings ready to heat-and-eat for only $2.00 a slice.
Make sure you go to the one that is closer to 2nd Ave (the more Eastern one), as there is another 2 Bros Pizza literally less than 50 feet away that is worse.
I often get a slice of veggie lovers pizza or the sausage-pepper-onion (the pepperoni-mushroom-sausage also seems tempting), -
Review from Wahed K.
The perfect finish to a night of heavy drinking and eating. $2.75 for 2 slices and a soda eaten fast and furious style. As I sat sipping the last drops of soda, two fresh, piping hot pies came out. I couldn't resist and decided to order just one more slice. Because of the heavy foot traffic it's not hard to catch a fresh pie coming out of the oven which makes this 2 Bros location better than most.

Yo it's $1 for a slice of alright pizza. It's none of that artisanal coal oven stuff so you shouldn't set that bar too high. If you want toppings, it's gonna be a little more than a dollar.
I have wondered how these guys can sell their slices for a dollar....perhaps it's better that we do not know. -

What can I say about this place??! Like really.. WHAT CAN I SAY!?
Anything for a dollar gets an A in my book. ANYTHING! When you take something as delicious as pizza and make it a dollar that's an automatic A+.
On top of being cheaper than dirt, it doesn't taste like a dollar slice at ALL!
First of all, it's friggin huge and its soooo damn delicious. Always fresh out the oven. The cheese won't choke you like I've experienced before and you can be full from one..I like to be greedy and get 2. it's a dollar. Why the hell not!?
One thing I can say is finding seating in this place is tough! Takes a lot of moivng around and sitting with strangers. But all extremely worth it.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! -
Review from Mark N.
a slice of cheese is a buck. this is how they draw in the unwashed hoardes. the pizza is nothing special by NY or NJ standards (yes, I think New Jersey has good pizza too although no New Yorker will likely admit that anything in the slum across the Hudson could be up to their standards) but pretty good and likely would be considered earth shatteringly fantastic in some random town in rural Nebraska. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza and the mushroom, they cost more, i think like $2.25 a slice or so, but the buffalo chicken in particular was quite tasty.. pretty close to Port Authority Bus Terminal so if like the author you happen to be famished from a long bus ride from the ocean front ghetto in the Dirty Jerz where ya live this is a good option to refresh before starting your adventures on the island of the 1%. "seating" is very limited, actually it is "standing" or "tabling" or something like that, expect to stand at a little round table inside or out and share it with other customers in fact this is the unspoken expectation. very fast efficient service.. and you can eat a slice of pizza for one dollar. one dollar.
who can argue with that. -

Cheapest meal for two we ever bought. Two slices and a can of soda for $2.75. Stand up dining with a few seats in the back and gruff service. Okay pizza. The boyfriend liked it. We would come back here for a quick and cheap eat.

I have recently come to the conclusion that the world is a far better place with 2 Bros Pizza. It is the cheapest and most delicious slice of classic New York pizza. Nothing can beat this place in value. Cheese pizzas are only $1 per slice and a pie is only $8! Whether you are completely drunk at 3am or way too sober at 11am this is the place to. You will fall in love and your wallet will be extremely grateful.

If you want a cheap slice come on down. If you had to much beer or alcohol common on down. If your on a strict budget come on down.
The pizza is hot and tasty. I guess I am a big fan of their dough. I am kind of addicted to it. It is soft and warm. Instead of pizza it is warm bread with sauce and some cheese. Not the greatest slice, but for a buck you can't go wrong.
I was thinking of making it 2 stars because of their lack of maintenance for cleaning their front. They are busy and their customers trash the area. Punks love their pizza.
There are better places in NYC for a slice, but a buck won't hurt you. It is cheaper than an old subway token.
Thank you 2 Bros Pizza for your $1 slice. My regular pizzeria in Astoria is now charging $1 to......yeah. All is good......... -

Found out about this place from my brother and tried it while in the city on vacation. You cant beat the price. What makes it even better? The pizza is actually pretty good and the slices were HUGE!
The seating we didn't even attempt, we found a staircase across the street and watched the hoards file in and out of 2 bros. Great pizza. -

Their employees will get physically abused by me if they talk about me in Spanish and thinking I don't realize. So watch out little Hispanic man, I will hurt you!
But the slice is great especially for a dollar!
Just rude employees. Its not necessary, really. -

i really can't understand how people even critique this pizza! (IT GETS THE JOB DONE AND ITS OPEN LATE WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!) Lol clearly its here for a purpose $1 slices and two slices and a can of soda for $2.75!!! Just like the 99 Cent Pizza chain this is clearly for people on the go who need a quick bite, the journeymen who is hungry and needs a bite, the drunk college student after a long night of partying can fill up on slice after slice and not worry about breaking the bank, or its a pre-meal eat. Let's be honest your giving this place unnecessary criticism. Perhaps some of you would like to see the 99 cent pizza places disappear and continue paying $2.50-$4 a slice, then i guarantee you would all miss this place. Appreciate it and love it ! NUFF SAID!

Review from Rojé G.
2 Bros. Pizza has started poppin up everywhere, especially in midtown. However I feel the pizza at this location tastes better than the other 3-4 i've been to. I believe this is also the first one. This place is great. 2 Bros. has the largest slices of any $1 pizza place I've been to.
The pizza itself is enjoyable, but more times than not when I come here It's just to fill my stomach and keep it moving. Doesn't matter how long the line is they manage to service everyone in a timely manner. You can't compare 2 Bros to a $3-4 pizza slice but for a $1 this location is one of the best.
Deal:
1 slice: $1.00
2 slices and a soda: $2.75 -

One dollar pizza that's tasty. I can't believe I never tried this when I was a volunteer even though my friends raved about it. It's fresh and delicious.Listed in: Cheap Eats in the city

Financial District, Manhattan, NY
A great find for those wanting to have a slice of pizza and not pay much. The slices are decent size and are only $1.
The interior is small so if you are hoping to get a seat, it is hit or miss. Most people grab a slice and go. They have no parmesan cheese, only garlic salt and oregano, I guess so that they can keep their costs down? The pizza is not stellar or anything, but for $1, I would eat it again, it satisfied me. Their daily special is 2 slices and a can of soda for $2.75. Where else can you find that in this city? -
Review from Diane D.
I love pizza but I don't like spending money on something I'm just going to eat and not have access to again. With that, I've frequented a ton of cheapo pizza places in search decent slices.
This is the first dollar pizza joint that has failed me. The slice was a really great size and had the sauce not been extremely sweet it would've perfect. I felt cheated after just a few bites and had to throw it out. -

Whoa $1 for a regular slice?! I'm in...Well, actually, it was after watching my co-worker got 2 slices of pizza thats when i jumped in. I wasnt planning to eat anything here, but after smelling the food and the finding out the price, i couldnt say no and went with a slice of mushroom pizza! It wasnt the best pizza in the world, but it sure is one of the cheapest pizza places in NYC!

One of the best ways you can spend $1 period. Also, the the meatball pizza is surprisingly good.
