Second time I've tried giving this place a go. First time.. the wings were horrible even though they claim to have the best wings in the city.. tonight we had fried pickles (brought out the sauce and when I opened the lid it had a broken chip inside), and also a burger that I asked to be medium well (was well done) and to have mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.. came out with no onions and no mayo..
So both times I've tried this place.. fail.
My Tito's and cranberry both times tasted nothing but juice..Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anthony B.Philadelphia, PA02Jan 24, 2024
I come here almost exclusively for wings on wing night (Thursdays) and never leave hungry or disappointed. One thing that has withstood the test of time in Northeast Philadelphia is Curran's.
Yeah, sure, the inside could use some sprucing up, but you don't go there to look at pretty paint trims or woodwork - you go to eat flavorful, crispy, chicken wings by the bowlful with a group of buddies.
Only thing that has sucked is going in and seeing a random/new waitress who sometimes seems to have a bit of an attitude when asking for things.
Prime example, if you have a group of guys who have been coming in for 10+ years, if they ask for the "everything wing sauce" just give them the dang sauce on their wings.
That reminds me, if you like to try new sauces, the "everything" wing sauce will not disappoint, as well as the hot cajun. You can thank me later ; )Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Frank L.Chester, PA341Dec 22, 2023

Curran's Irish Inn in Foxchase is a great stop! The daytime crowd, kitchen staff, and bartenders are friendly and always helpful. The beers are cold and the Wings are the best!

This place is way over priced and the menu, ill. I order a shrimp basket that only had 5 shrimps for $15. The shrimp are not even fresh, they came frozen in the bag from restaurant depot. The blue cheese for the wings is Ken's, not home made like the menu says. They are charging high prices for low quality food. Very disgusting. I should file a suit for the false info on the menu.

So loud you could not talk. Bartender screamed the whole time we were there. Food was awful. Had garlic wings because they got rave reviews. I could not eat them. Tried one the thought maybe I should try another. So bad.... Had a corned beef sandwich. Not very good either. Will never go back

The wings are great on occasion. The service could be better but they have their days

This is our go to spot for lunch time wings! The wings here are fantastic; the buffalo, cajun and garlic parm are all fantastic. This place is just a no nonsense, blue collar kind of spot. The clientele are young to middle aged roofers, sitting at the bar, oogling the insanely enhanced girl behind the bar. When we go in, we go to the other side of the inn and sit down for, what I believe are the best wings in Philadelphia. Beside being delicious, the wings are a decent size, so you won't feel TOO bad about shelling out the dough to eat here. 15 wings and a beer (including tip) ran me $25 the last time I was there. That ain't exactly a bargain, but its not highway robbery, because of the quality of the wings.
The dining area is no nonsense; wooden tables and uncomfortable chairs. The waitress will take your order, bring your food and get out of your hair. There are tvs everywhere, so its probably a pretty sweet place to watch a game or ufc fight.
Currans is firmly entrenched as one of my go-to spots, and is hands down my #1 for wings.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 2020Updated review
Came again for ayce crabs because our normal place won't have them again until summer. The crabs were better this toke than last, wondering they changed cooks because they were cooked perfectly meat slid right out but not over cooked. The butter seemed better this time too. I wish I could say the same about the service. There was one girl with like 4 tables possibly 5 all close together all having crabs so not a whole lot to do. Beer and crabs. She is just very slow. After we ordered drinks she came back 5 minutes later to say she didn't have something which is fine but why so long. Crabs came out steaming which I love with a side of fries. We also got wings because my boyfriend loves the honey bbq. Anyway everything good this time besides slow service this girl just moves so slow if you watch her. She's a nice girl doesn't seem like much personality in there but still.

My bf doesn't like old bay and prefers garlic butter. The first time they brought his out plain so the second time I asked for garlic butter for him. The waitress literally brought garlic powder out and a thing of butter for him. Also I think the butter is either imitation or watered down because he doesn't taste right- also seems very yellow. The wings were good as always. The 3 stars is because the service here sucks!!!!!! Tonight was my 5th check in there so the food is definitely good. Tonight was busy but it took 20 mins for us to be greeted, probably another 15 til we got drinks and another 15 until we got French fries which come with the ayce. I only drank lemonade but my bf has beer and couldn't believe that there weren't any beer specials especially since the Phillies were playing. Our bill was 113 bucks for the two of us and it hurt to give the waitress 20 percent because we weren't taken care of. Long review sorry but usually I wouldn't mind shelling out 25%. Owners or managers if you're reading this please get more waitresses or train them better. She never looks up from the podium to even see if we need drinks.
Sep 25, 2016Previous reviewCame here for lunch on another Yelpers suggestion and it's actually pretty close to my house. I ordered the pudgy wing sampler where you can order 15 wings with 2-3 sauces. I wanted to try all of them so I got mild, bow and garlic. Couldn't decide which were my favorite probably the garlic which is surprising to me. They hit the spot perfectly. Will definitely be going back probably with my wing loving son. Plenty of bar, restaurants and outdoor seating.
