Total Concept Salon Etc

I opened up this Yelp account for the sole purpose of commending this wonderful business. My hair colourist Amber did exactly what I wanted and the results are simply fabulous! She also did a great mani and a lovely young woman (Sarah) did my awesome pedi! The ladies were very friendly, extremely professional and the salon is beautiful, I couldn't have been anymore comfortable and well taken care of.
Im not from this area, but if I ever am again, this is the salon that gets my business!!

I love going to this place and have been doing so for years! Without a doubt, it's one of the best salons in the Central PA area. I do recommend that you book your appointment well in advance. The secret's out about this place, so their bookings tend to fill up fast. What can I say, it's a popular place, and with good reason. :)

I usually go to Whitney, who does a particularly excellent job with highlights. I've also gone to Sue, the owner of the salon, who's extremely talented as well. The staff are professional, prompt, friendly, and very personable.

The salon has a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. They even offer free Wi-Fi, which is really convenient. In addition to the usual waiting area on the main floor, there's also a separate area upstairs where you can read and relax while your highlights set.

Honestly, this place is as good or better as some of the top salons I've been to in the city where I live, but is MUCH more reasonable. In short, I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's a precious jewel in the heart of Central PA. :)

I have been a customer at Total Concept Salon for many years and I have yet to receive a bad service. All of the girls who work in there are extremely talented at what they do, and will never let you walk out with a bad haircut. They are continually trained in the latest techniques and trends so they stay up to date in their profession. The atmosphere is friendly and fun, and I would never go to another salon.

My mother has breast cancer. She lost all her hair and eyelashes, and this has been completely devastating for her. She called Total Concept to see if they would be able to permanently attach eyelashes WITHOUT having any eyelashes, since she obviously lost hers. The salon confirmed that yes, they would. My mom asked them several times because she's been let down several times and didn't want to be let down again, but they assured her that it would be possible. She got so excited to have eyelashes until hers grow back in, made an appointment (she couldn't get one for two weeks) and finally drove over an HOUR to Selinsgrove. When she got there, they told her that, in fact, they wouldn't be able to attach eyelashes since she didn't have any, even though on the phone they confirmed that they would be able to. My mother was devastated, and for a woman who's been through an entire winter of chemotherapy, this was just one devastation on top of another. To make her feel "better", they told her that when some of her eyelashes grew back, they could attach extensions for the low fee of $100. Wow. Thank you. Give a woman with cancer hope that some of her dignity may be restored, let her drive over an hour, and then humiliate her with zero serious offers for compensation. Do NOT go here. Total Concept lied to an already depressed woman and ruined any shred of dignity she may have had left. I'll bet you anything this is the kind of place that puts out pink things for "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" and then basically spits in the face of an actual woman with breast cancer.

Absolutely top notch skills. Nicest atmosphere...friendly, warm, professional and impressive technique. I not only love my results, but I feel I am in the company of highly skilled, responsive hair artists always-educating themselves with cutting edge hair techniques. The owner and staff are wonderful. I'm sorry to read the negative review below as it can't be further from the truth. The client is clearly more protective of her mother, understandably, but sometimes mistakes happen and we are all human. I've been going to Total Concept for many years happily and loyally. I know many others who have been happy, loyal customers for years who have been to cities and had felt hit technique in this salon was neck and neck with anything I've don't in major metropolitan cities. It's unfortunate for the mixup, however mistakes do happen and we are human. First take your issue up with the business owner and often solutions will be found. Posting negative reviews without talking to the owner is not fair or giving the owner or other people the benefit of the doubt. There could be a fix and I know the character of the owner and she would have helped you out. Also, I live in the city and eyelash extensions I hear are way more expensive. Also, often you are paying for quality. I hope this client's mother is improving.
