From what I understand 3M offers varities of films, each with difference performances. What type of 3M film do they use?

I was wondering the same thing. So after getting my tint here, I found out that they use 3M FX Premium film for the car tints. NOT the HP version. On the 3M site, the HP version has better performance… more

If you are looking to tint your windows please give Auto Tech your business and they will treat you right. Very experienced and fair prices.Sep 30, 2013Previous reviewThis weekend I brought our 911 into Auto Tech Tinting, it's great to know that Vincent Kong is still the owner - why wouldn't he be? Vincent gives fair quotes and repeat clients are treated like family. Our 911 is the black cabriolet in the photo w/Vincent! So if you are thinking of getting your windows tinted - Auto Tech is the place - ask for "Vincent" :)
Apr 7, 2008Previous reviewTwo weeks ago I went to Auto Tech Tint (ATT) to get my 2007 Toyota Prius 10 windows tinted. I found ATT in the advertiser an read it's reviews on Yelp.
I was concerned about this business as John S. had a very poor experience. I called and spoke to Vincent (mgr), he quoted me $280 which was comparable to other shops. The shop is a typical car stereo install shop - two blocks from the Hall of Justice on 5th street.
As I arrived three guys where on staff and I was quoted 2hrs to get the tint job completed. I selected % of shade for front & rear windows, and the guys got started. Within 1 1/2 hours they were done. They guaranteed their work and told me to keep the windows closed for three days to allow the tint to take shape. You could get your windows tinted anywhere, but 1 1/2 hours is awesome - time is money!
So far no issues - I highly recommend this shop, make sure you bring in the Advertiser ad for best price.

Had my windows tinted while I basically waited. I stopped in to see when I could schedule an appointment and they did it on the spot! I left for lunch and returned 1hour and 30 minutes later to find it completely done! Great job Steve! Very clean and done quickly at a great price! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

It turned out great. The service was fast and the price was reasonable. I did not need an appointment (although you should call to make sure they have availability). If you need window tint in SF, look no further!

Steve was a pleasure to work with. One of the few who does tint removal and is what brought me to his shop. I just bought a used car with a poorly done rear window tinting that had bubbles and much too dark to see through with an automatic dimming rear view mirror at night. Had Auto Tech remove it carefully without damaging the rear defroster wires. Picked the car up at the agreed to time and for a reasonable cost he spent a couple of hours on. Thanks

They did a great job tinting all the windows of my 2018 Camry XSE. Now, when you call them for a quote, the quote that they will give you is for the non-3M film. If you opt for the 3M, it's $50 more but carries a lifetime warranty - meaning, if you have any bubble or peeling issues, they will fix it. 3M is also of better quality. I opt for the 3M, 35% tint for the front & 15% tint for the back & rear windshield. It took them about 3hrs which I did not mind - I just walked towards Westfield's and did some window shopping & watched a movie.
Tip: Try to arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time and call them if you can come in. The shop is located on the corner of a VERY busy intersection and almost always doesn't have street parking.
Thank you Vincent and Steven! I will definitely do business with Auto Tech Tinting again.
