    • Pizza

      Old Fourth Ward, Atlanta

I moved from New York initially to Florida and now to Atlanta - I've craved New York-style pizza since I left. I've had a lot of good pizza and even some great pizza, but never really New York-by the slice-style. Glide hits it out of the park - it tastes just like home. I could not recommend it highly enough. The crust is exceptionally thin - perfect for folding. The sauce/cheese balance is spot on - and the red sauce isn't overly acidic. Really an incredible joint and probably the best pizza in the metro!

    • Breweries, Beer Bar

      Beaches, Jacksonville Beach

Southern Swells is unquestionably the best IPA brewer in Jacksonville. Their ability to pump out quality NE IPAs time after time is unmatched probably by any other brewery in Florida and is in line with those in the northeast. That's not to say they don't make other awesome brews too (their fruit sours and porters are also excellent). They've taken an unassuming location in a strip mall and turned it into a mecca for beer - this is truly a must stop if you are in the area and is 100% worth the drive out to the beaches if you are into beer and in Jacksonville.

This is the best airport in the world. Its three gates, friendly staff, and easy parking are better than anywhere else. Security doesn't open until 30 minutes before each flight boards so arriving early isn't necessary (but if you do, the gift shop sells some stellar alligator-themed items). Unlike a busy airport, this one has an incredibly relaxed vibe. I've chit-chatted with a security lady about her grandchildren, and once, when my luggage was lost in a connection through Miami, the baggage guys let me into the back just to make sure my suitcase wasn't in lost and found. I am writing this review beneath enormous skylights next to the indoor fountain in a rocking chair paid for by locally-grown band Less Than Jake, beer in hand from a brewery down the street, watching the World Cup with two GNV employees. It doesn't get any better than this.

We were starved after a day of battling the crowds at Millenia and we found this place newly opened. The interior was quite nice (and clearly new) and the service was polite and quick. We ordered a chicken sandwich (which was freshly fried and really pretty spectacular for fast-food chicken), onion rings (served with a killer ranch dressing), a double cheeseburger (freshly cooked, nice and greasy without being overly moist, and just all-in-all tasty), and fries (good and crisp without being overly salted). We were super impressed with the food and would gladly come back. The burger and fries market is tough to break into with all the great semi-local options in Central Florida, but The Habit is off to a great start.

I wish Proof was closer to home so I could go every weekend! Delicious beer, great service, and a cool decor made for the perfect place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon. We got a flight and headed to the outdoor area--definitely the best part of Proof!
