A friend brought me here for dinner and I wonder why I never tried this place sooner.

Poesia is cute. Its like going up someone's house, only to be greeted by an Italian host.

The atmosphere is warm and cool with old movies playing on their brick(?) wall.. or was it white? Sorry my memory is hazy BUT the food is unforgettable!

I ordered their calamari for appetizer. It was grilled squid with lemon olive oil and baby arugula. My friend ordered a salad, which I wasnt able to try but she said it was very lovely.

I had their Fettuccine al Ragu di Agnello. Oh my! Sooo good! The pasta tasted so fresh and the lamb shank was so tender that it melts in my mouth!

My friend ordered their specials. It looked really good but I was so focused on my own that I didnt bother trying hers. lol! Based on her reaction though ... I know she was enjoying her meal as much as I am.

Only thing about this place though ... it get too dark! I guess if it was a date, I wouldnt mind. But that night it wasnt, so there.... :P

Off The Grid is getting more and more popular. Ive pretty much tried every food truck there is. You will enjoy coming to OTG events if you are prepared to fall in line for hours and bring lots of cash! :)

My Favorite is LITTLE GREEN CYCLO. I think they are 1 of the few (if not the only 1) that constantly change or update their SPECIALS. Whenever I see something new in their menu, I make sure I try it and Im never disappointed! :)

Their banh mi's are fresh and tasty! I have tried pork, chicken, tofu! LOVE THEM ALL!

Trucks that are a MUST TRY are:
BRASS KNUCKLE! Prawns and Roses! YUM! and
EAT CURBSIDE. Their fried mac and cheese and Curbside Dawg (hotdog) are really really good! :)
WOW SILOG serves awesome Filipino Silog meals, which is so hard to find in the city!

Mama Empanada's and Pete's Kettle Corn for take out! lol!

We have been to Skool a few times for brunch... they have patio seating which is perfect if only SF can be so kind to us and shows us some great sun. Crab Eggs Benedict and French Toast are a must try!

We finally visited Skool for dinner as well ... crab cakes appetizer yum! Rock Shrimp Risotto and Pan Seared Scallops were really good!

    Pictures here: porklet.me --  porklet.me/post/76302812…

I love their cute menu! Gimmicky but they pulled it off :) Service was good although there was 1 time, our server seemed to have forgotten about us, that we had to skip dessert.

But all in all ... Skool was a good experience .. brunch and dinner! :)

Oh yummmm! Sweet and salty just the way I like it! Really tasty!

When I mentioned I know the person who did their website, Peter gave me an extra bag! 6 1/2 STARS FOR KETTLE CORN! Woohoo!

But seriously, biases aside ... Peter's Kettle Corn is REALLY good. And i mean sooooo good i can finish a whole bag (or 2!) I wish they have this in movie houses. Hint hint!

I always bring my friends to their stand whenever we visit Off The Grid. And I will write on their behalf ... "PETER'S KETTLE CORN IS SO ^)#$%)#$ GOOD!" Sorry, they (my friends) curse a lot. Lol!

STAFF HERE ARE SO RUDE! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE!

I dont go to Lenscrafters but I have accompanied my friend and her sister here. I personally witnessed how bad service were.

My friend came to pick up her contact lenses after she received a call from them saying it was ready. A sales rep(?) asked for a receipt and my friend apologetically said she left it. She then asked if she needs the receipt or if she can just give him her name.... the guy replied  with an attitude saying "WELL IT WOULD HELP SO I DONT HAVE TO LOOK ALL OVER THE WORLD, RIGHT?"

Really now?! Is it really THAT hard to look for a box that has her name on it?  Finally after a long long wait, another staff helped her and was able to locate her contacts in just a few minutes. We then ask him how it was filed. It was Alphabetical! So why did the other guy took forever to find her order?

Our next visit, my friend's sister set an appointment a week ahead. We told them specifically that it was for NEW contact fitting. They told her that their last appointment for contact fitting is at 3:40pm. We booked it.

Day came, we came minutes before 3:40. They made her fill up forms, checked her in ... and was then led to the exam room by 4:10pm. Inside the room, she was told and I have to quote this ... "WE DON'T DO CONTACT FITTING THIS LATE, YOU KNOW! Do you even know how to put on contacts?"

We stormed out but my friend had to tell the manager how rude the staff was. We found out that they cannot do fitting anymore because it will take 2 hours and they will be closing by 6pm. Im sorry BUT DIDNT WE ARRIVE MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT? We understand the process .. filling up forms, etc ... so is it her fault that she was led to the exam room after 4pm?

I DO NOT AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! RUDE RUDE STAFF on 2 separate occassions!

Dr. Ho pls move to a different location! My friends love you .. you are a great doctor and you show concern to your patients but we totally HATE where you work.

I had the most phenomenal dining experience at Benu last night!

The place is remarkable. Modern, although my friend asked me when the last time I stepped on a carpet in a restaurant! Lol! Cute silverware! The kitchen is uniquely located in front of the restaurant.  Minimalist decor,  so the food was really THE STAR!

Chef Corey is an artist! His food presentation were excellent. Every bite was amazing. Flavors were sensational!

Service may have been purposely slow but still top notch! :)

My only regret was not going for the tasting menu ... until next time, Benu! :)

Lemongrass At Aria -- EEKS methinks NOT fer sure!

What were we thinking going for Thai in Vegas anyway!? That explains why this place was the only one that we can get a reservation for a big party last minute.

The servers were all friendly... but not very attentive. We asked for water and followed up nicely 3 more times and it didnt come until we were pretty much done with our meal.

The food were nothing special. They were all blah and bland. We had their "best appetizer" prawn roll which looked amazing but it   was nowhere near any prawn or shrimp rolls Ive tried even in the hole in the wall type of places.

We tried pretty much all their noodle dishes. They were all not satisfying!
Some dish were super spicy like the shredded pork and beancurd, and the menu didnt even say it was a spicy dish.

How can a Thai restaurant go wrong with Mango sticky rice? ... but they did. It just didnt hit the spot for us.

This place looks cool. I love modern interior.

They could do something with their giant door. I saw a few people having a hard time trying to figure out where the door is and how to open it.... including us. It was hella heavy! lol!

Service was good and our server was attentive. The manager even dropped by our table to check in with us. Thats always a PLUS. Customers love feeling special! teehee!

Their pizzas were good... and their fries with truffle oil was yummy too! Their pasta was alright. Nothing in theur menu I would crave for. But hooray for complimentary bread sticks!

Just need to comment on their hostess -- actually, i dont know what to say! She's not helpful at all? When we were waiting for our table and saw people surprised by the weight of the door, the hostess just stood there watching without helping any of the customers. You no nice hostess! tsk tsk...

As soon as I moved to San Francisco, I was introduced to Philz right away. First it was the branch in Castro ... Leanne made the best cup. When she left, it was good that we had to move too.

On Berry St, there WAS Charlie. My friend constantly complains about having to deal with inconsistency whenever our favorite baristas are not around. Well... she's now gone too ... and i dont think my Philz addict friend's taste buds have been satisfied since.

Today was my first time to go to Van Ness location ... and LILIAN (who ironically only drinks hot water), ...  youre cool!  :) I will tell my friends to ask for you when they are in the area.

I was seriously embarrassed having to order DECAF (cut down caffeine, doc said - PFFT!). I asked Lilian what is close to what I normally order and without batting an eyelash suggested a decaf alternative to my craving and went on to describe the taste. SOLD! You had me at hello! :)

I am not giving up on Philz anymore ... will definitely drop by this location whenever I go to City Hall.
