Don't let the name fool you. This is a local, third generation company, with the son and grandson as current owners.
We have had Nat'l Economy Plumbing come out several times. First because we had several leaky faucets when we moved into our new place. The biggest job was a complete reinstallation of the gas line to, and thoughout our house, which hadn't had gas in more than 40 years.
Every time, they've arrived on time and ready to work. They have been efficient and communicated well. Their work is exact and professional. We did have a small issue with the gas install, but they came back and quickly remedied the situation. -
Fantastic customer service. Very friendly and helpful. Big props for being open on Labor Day!

Typical Claiborne Ave clothing boutique, this branch of the chain is pretty much like any of the others.
They've got a substantial amount of cheaply made, inexpensive wardrobe for men and women. Perfect for costuming a "hip hop club-goer" for a production I worked on recently.
Employees are helpful and friendly. -
If you want a dive bar, pool hall AND amatuer boxing/MMA ring all in one place, Honey's is the place for you!
Be sure to pee before you go and/or be able to hold it until you get home/someplace else, cuz the bathroom facilities are atrocious. -
Great folks in the photo dept. I've been here a tin recently and they've always been nice.
The checkers are pretty quick, too.
Lots of sketchy people hang around outside of it, though, so be prepared to keeps your wits about you when you're coming and going. -
One stop-shopping. Typical Claiborne Ave Hair and Beauty Supply, in that they have all the usual products, but they've got a selection of clothing and trinkets. They seem to have a little bit of everything. I didn't get to the back of the store, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a po-boy shop at the back.

Used an apartment to shoot a tv pilot.
The one bedroom was immaculate with moderne architectural aesthetics. There's a room with movable walls that can be part of the great room or made into a second bedroom space. Nice details. -
So pleased to have places like this, willing to do they legwork of salvaging all the Victorian doors, fixtures and gingerbread.
Prices are reasonable and if you tell them what you're looking for, they'll help you get it. If they can find it, they'll make it (or find you someone who will!) -
Great products, pretty well stocked store. You can't beat the folks that work here as far a good service.
The store is so convenient and the employees take as much time as you need, are knowledgeable and are willing to work with you to tailor to your needs and desires (no strong upsell to more expensive products!)
