So far, so good for this new Five Star location, above average pizza with friendly service and lots of specials on different days. Added plus, right across the parking lot from Aqui swirls. A win win situation...

Great aloha happy hour location for food, drink and atmosphere. Their lilikoi foam makes the mai tais unique and one of a kind...Kāmau!

If semi-quiet day drinking and peanut shells on the floor are on your agenda, this is your place and if Alex is tending, it's like the cherry on top of a sundae...Enjoy & Cheers!

What's not to like, airy homemade in house biscuits and sausage gravy as good as anything in the South. Add linguisa, bacon or chorizo and a morning beer and you're set for the day. Only bummer is they need to get the outside patio back...sign the petition!

Great job Ichibox. Showed up today for a 4:00 birthday reservation for 15 people...guess what, place locked up tighter than a drum and no phone call to warn us or inform us why. So that makes it twice we went there today, our first and last, adios!

Way worst tourist trap rip off of a place ever...went two times today, my first and last!

Went by yesterday, hopefully they're one of the shops that can re-open sooner than later considering that their roof didn't burn...just smoke damage we're guessing? Feel bad for Dona Maria and all the other places that weren't as fortunate...

Sorry to see ya go...we will miss your $12.00 happy hour (burger, fries and beer) for our Giants pre-game ritual...

Located in a pull out (look for the Shrimp Shack sign on the road) overlooking beautiful Honolua Bay, this place sells tasty shrimp tacos and they're the bomb.
Jeff & Sonya couldn't turn out better local food and Aloha spirit coupled with the fantastic view. Everything is cooked fresh right before you and all the salsa / sauces are homemade. Make sure to save room for his made from scratch banana bread too as I'm pretty sure you'll eat this and then want to buy more to take with you to snack on later or toasted the next day with butter for breakfast!
Just a hop skip and a jump past Kapalua, make sure to stop by if you're in the area and enjoy! -
Huli Huli chicken as good as it gets in the Kahana area...we were just riding bikes along the lower road when this out-of-the-world tempting BBQ'd chicken aroma took hold of our senses. A block further up the street we found this beckoning wafting smoke coming from an open aired shack right next to the China Boat restaurant.
The chicken we ordered (thighs) was so perfectly cooked, crispy and slightly charred on the outside and Kiawe flavored and juicy on the inside that we ordered a whole chicken to go for our picnic the next day for our drive to Hana. For our combo plates the other meat we chose was succulent roast pork served with a Maui onion brown gravy! Ono! The sides are no afterthought either with your choice between upcountry corn succotash and/or island style mac salad with all plates including Hapa rice.
Unfortunately for now this roadside cubicle of goodness is only open on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or until they're sold out which happens frequently we were told. Run by a friendly local, bruddah Ian, I hope this ambassador of Aloha is here the next time we head over in January so we can again satisfy our great huli chicken cravings!
