Who knew? I'm was in the area for a conference when I was ambushed by a craving for food. Yelp definitely came through on me for this one, because I got an amazing roasted beet salad and stuffed mushrooms. At my cozy table for one, I was given attentive service and my food was fresh and well-prepared.
As a vegetarian here in the land of meat, I think my new go-to meal is the roasted beet salad if it is on the menu. This one was one of the best, with pickled cabbage, a whole lot of greens, some excellent locally-sourced goat cheese, and even some roasted brussel sprouts. The flavors were outstanding and worked very well together. The mushrooms were pretty good, baked in a dish with a savory tomato sauce that was seasoned just right.
Worth visiting, in my opinion. Be prepared to park on the street!
This place surprised me. I know there are lots of trendy restaurants in this area, but I was super-impressed with the food, the decor, and the willingness of the waiter to endure my jet-lagged Spanish.
This place is perfect for meeting up with friends (here's looking at you Jose S and Nantisara!) for a bite to eat. Now, to be honest, it was my first full day back in Spain and the rest of my brain was trying desperately to catch up to the clock, and we arrived at the restaurant as they opened for lunch (around 1:00, which is ridiculously early for Spanish lunchtime). The menu is varied and there are lots of little options for personalizing your meal.
What arrived at the table was a real treat - appetizers and main courses were delicious, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully presented. I definitely want to go back the next time I am in Valencia.
This was a good place to meet with friends for some Indian fare. It's a very modern restaurant, and while their seating could be improved somewhat (that tile against the wall, I mean YOU), the food and service was top-notch. I loved that so many families were in the restaurant, and that the variety on the menu was reflected by some classics and some new interpretations of Indian cuisine.
Yep, I said cuisine. It's that good. It is a little noisy due to the hard surfaces in the restaurant, but the place is spotless and the wait staff was totally on the ball the entire time we were there. The food was seasoned well, and not too overpowering. All considered, a win and definitely a restaurant I want to revisit.
When I lived in Spain, I really, really, really missed Mexican food. Now that I am back in the States, I am thrilled to be able to find authentic local places where the food is consistent and delicious. El Dorado is definitely one of my go-to places, and they are happy to prepare non-meat food for me without some of the ingredients that I don't like (green bell peppers are my kryptonite, GAStronomically speaking).
I have had quesadillas, taco salads, and other food from their menu, made without meat, and have been satisfied every time. No, it's not super-high-end, but it's good food at a good price. The wait staff is attentive, remember our orders from the previous visit, and make sure to keep coming by with water and a friendly smile.
Read some reviews, give it a try, and enjoy!
When that special someone has a hankerin' for Indian food, I pretty much am ready for an adventure. The staff took very, very good care of us, and the food was amazing. It is always so nice to have lots of vegetarian options, and this restaurant provided great food at a reasonable price.
One nice thing about the entire experience is that the restaurant is... well... pleasant. No harsh music, good lighting, clean menus, and even good advice from the wait staff. It's hard to describe, but I would definitely go back here again with friends.
The nice thing about Moral is that it is often exactly the kind of bakery I could spend hours in having coffee and chatting with friends. Their breakfasts are outstanding, and the coffee is classic Spanish and all sorts of perfect. If you are currently wearing your sweet tooth, then their pastries are also pretty amazing. Definitely miss it now that I am back in the US!
Whhhaaaaaaaatttttt???????? A vegetarian/vegan place in Duluth?
Look, I'm going to be honest here. I have one of their menus on my desk in my home office. I think I have problem, but I can quit any time I want.
Their food is fresh, flavorful, and obviously prepared with care, because the times I have gone (and yes, there have been multiple times), I was delighted by the consistency of the food.
I have enjoyed their soups and main dishes. My favorite so far is the monkey mushroom ANYTHING. Seriously, it is delicious. And a little frighteningly like chicken. The place is well-decorated, spotlessly clean, and the wait staff is friendly and helpful. Their lunch specials are well-priced and the right amount for a lunch meal. Add that to the fact that I live nearby and am thrilled that there is finally a quality Asian restaurant that does not rely on fish sauce for flavor. If I had an unlimited budget, I would probably eat there every day for lunch.
Highly recommend. Go get your own menu!
I was here in May, and the list of vegetarian options nearby was scant, so in I went. The waitress was very helpful in going through the vegetarian-friendly options (there are several) and the specials for that moment. I know that I had at least one of the specials, and enjoyed my meal. I do recall it being a little on the pricey side, so be prepared when you go!
This was a consolation dinner location for another place nearby that only serves lunch. I can't really recommend... it was okay, and only just that. The wait staff, the food, the price. Meh.
I guess if you are desperate for a margarita, this might be a good option, but since I didn't have a margarita, I didn't get the tequila-goggles through which I might appreciate this fairly run-of-the-mill place.
It was a cold and dreary night when I visited Harrisburg, PA. January is not a great time to be hunting vegetarian food and braving the elements. However, when I found this place online and read through their menu, I knew my dinner decision had been made.
The restaurant was not full, so I pretty much had my pick of the tables. Dinner (yep, the tomato pie, Judgie McJudgerson) was made with real tomato-flavored tomatoes. I didn't expect the pie to be that flavorful, but then I wondered what sacrifices were being conducted behind closed doors to get flavorful tomatoes in January in Pennsylvania. I'd kill for those Dark Arts skills!
The wait staff was attentive and informative when I asked about options for dinner and for dessert. If I find myself in Harrisburg again, I'm going back. With my wand and cloak of invisibility. And maybe a shopping bag to grab some of those tomatoes.
