These guys are great, from the online booking to the great directions to the in-shop staf (total cleanliness for Pandemic it was awesome) to the guys out in the field that get you into the 4x4s. All of the way through we had a wonderful experience.
One thing to bring!
I wish I had ski goggles. If you are going in the Fall to the Winter, bring a ski mask, goggles, and gloves. The cold wind and snow falling were a bit too much for our sunglasses, bare noses, and regular gloves. Next time I go I will be more prepped. -
Everything my girlfriend gets here is beautiful and has sexy little elements like a little skin showing here and there.
The girl that works there is awesome, super nice.
Love the tiger painting! -
I stopped yesterday and had the Mediterranean bowl. The cashier helped me order as i never really eat vegan so did not know what i wanted. She suggested that bowl because i don't really like a lot of carbs. She also suggested Tempe, which is really good!
When it came out it was much bigger than I expected, and there were so many different flavors - I was like a kid that did not want it to end because there were so many different things to taste in that one bowl.
I am not vegan or vegetarian, but one thing I can appreciate is that when you are eating a meat dish it is usually dominated by that one taste and everything else is pretty much ancillary to that main taste. With Vegan there is a very even balance between all the different things on your plate, and the taste spectrum of the meal is more ballance. That is pretty cool! -
Such a great place!!
The head barista made me a special cappuccino with a dog face after we had a fun convo about the foam art on top he was doing.
We had sandwiches and smoothies, all different ones and all were excellent!! -
Wow I really wanted Chris to be my new local mechanic - but my first experience with him was so bad I threw him off my property.
I called Chris after reading the reviews and told him I needed a gasket replaced on my exhaust system. I can do the job but I'm not an experienced mechanic. He told me he would come to my house at 9am in the morning on Dec 31st (NYE) and when I asked him the price he quoted me at $125
That seemed pretty reasonable for a gasket change on a classic car - being a pretty simple job. Should take a couple of hours so $60 an hour made sense. I blocked out the morning and early afternoon just in case.
At 9:02 he showed up, and I had the car on the driveway ready and running. He took a look and had me get under the car to show me stuff he thought I needed to do, and confirmed that the gasket needed to be changed.
He then requested I bring the car to the shop on Monday at 9am.
Me "WHAT? What do you mean Monday what do you mean shop? Your Yelp page says '"Mobile"' mechanic. The reviews I read are about you coming to people's place and doing the work there. I thought you were doing the job right now - you want me to bring the car next week? I work at 9am on Monday." (Crap I thought, I wanted to have this done this weekend.)
Chris: "OK come at 8:30"
Me: "I leave at 8am for work."
Chris: "Ok drop the keys with the person in the gas station and tell them it is for me. I will get it when I come in."
Me: "Uh, ok, I will have to figure that out next week then. What will the job cost?" (Remember he quoted $125 on the phone after I told him what I needed.)
Chris "Don't worry it won't be too much"
Me "Uh, ok, well how much does that mean?"
Chris "Oh just a couple hours work"
Me "Ok, and how much is it an hour?" (Why am I pulling teeth to get the price quote here?)
Chris "$125"
Me "Ok, so about $250 plus parts?"
Chris "Yes, something like that."
Me "Uh, Ok..." (Something like that? At this point I am thinking about who I will be calling for the second opinion).
Then, I start to clean up the cardboard we were laying on as we looked under the car together. Chris comes next to me and leans against his car, folds his arms, and says, "Ok $125."
As he says it, he kind of lowers his voice and looks at me sheepishly. I do a lot of negotiation and my bullshit sensors all go off.
Me "What? What do you mean $125?"
Chris "$125, give me $125 now."
Me "What? What do you mean?"
Chris "$125, I tell you on the phone I come Saturday and it is $125."
Me "Are you saying you want $125 right now?"
Chris "Yes, $125 for diagnostic." (I pull out my Phone, and it is 9:17)
Me "Dude, you have been here 15 minutes, you have told me exactly what I told you was wrong with the car. I have learned nothing new"
Chris "I TELL YOU ON THE PHONE! I COME OUT TO YOUR HOUSE, I LOOK AT YOUR CAR, $125!"
Me "Bro, are you saying that you would like $125 for being here 15 minutes and telling me what I already knew?
Chris "Yes, I told you on phone $125! Not 15 minutes, I take my time to drive over here too! You have to pay me for my time!" (Now he is up of his car).
Me "Look, I expected you to come over here, do the job for $125. I blocked out my time on NYE for you to do the job, not come over here and sniff the car and tell me I have a blown gasket exactly where I told you I had a blown gasket. No sale bro, get off my driveway, we are not doing business now or ever"
Chris "What? I tell you $125! Diagnostic! You have to pay me $125!"
Me "Ok let's look at this. You said you are $125 per hour, you have been here 15 minutes and you want me to pay you for an hour?"
Chris "I drove over her! It takes time to drive!"
Me "Dude, if I had come to the shop, would you have charged me for the diagnostic?"
Chris "No, if you come to shop diagnostic is free"
Me "So you want me to pay your commute time? The only reason I called you was because you are mobile and I thought you would do it here. Happy new year, i love you, now get off my driveway, we are done."
Chris "Bla bla bla, my time, Bla bla my drive over here (all of 5 blocks). Ok ok, you pay me $85 as I was only here a few minutes"
Me "Hahahhah you are ridiculous bro, get off my driveway. I love you happy new year"
Chris "Happy new year to you you are wrong you should pay me"
Me "I'll think about it. Get of my driveway I love you you Bullshit artist"
So, that's what happened, so far people are telling me I am correct, but I am open to being wrong here. -
Love this space!! Flag of earth, rock sculptures, sacred tree ringed with the burnt branches from the trees that fell protecting it in a great fire. This place is born like a Phoenix from the flames.

Really great place, I did not notice the prices being more expensive - it seemed pretty much equal to any other Thrift store. If they are more expensive, it is because they are raising $$ for a Children's Education Program:

I love to browse around thrift stores, i go to one in every city I visit. I always find the coolest stuff! -
David Ademola is one-of-a-kind. He was super helpful.
David worked hard to get me a great deal on the lease. I was intent on getting a very specific look and specs: Leather, MP3, Bluetooth, sunroof, the works. The managers went out of their way to make it happen.
The management at Torrance Toyota are top-notch & give back to the local community. One of the causes that they support is a non profit called Hunger Heroes to feed hungry children at school is. -
Ok so I drove by this place a hundred times until my girlfriends sister ordered in and I had the kale Cesar salad with chicken.
WHAT!?!? Holy shit it is so good. It is very lightly seasoned, like a hint of dressing. Perfectly so. It is so fucking good!
I order it all the time. I'm like uhhhh.... What can I get fast and healthy? Oh yeah, that awesome kale salad fuck yeah!
Why are all Cesar's not like this? -
5 stars 5 stars 5 stars 5 stars
What did I say? 5 stars!
Why did I say it? Because if you go to anyone else for flowers or Weddings or Events, you are missing the best artist, florist, and business I know.
Alison, the owner is a friend and I cannot recommend her enough. I respect her so much, she puts everything she has into this business and as you can see by the reviews, she has what it takes to make your event awesome.
I helped her one day deliver 200 + glass Terrarium table decorations to the Museum of Natural History on the USC campus for this 5,000 or so person event. They were so awesome, huge glass pieces of varying shapes and sizes that had sand in the bottom with plants, and these really detailed animal figures in them. It was like they were little animals in a jungle scene (monkeys, bears, apes, wolves, elephants, etc) - they were so awesome I paid her to make me one special with fake plants for my house! I think everyone should own one of them, they are so fun everyone loves it.
I'll upload a pic of one, and when you see it you will have to call her and just order one of those. Think couch-side table or kids room, or kitchen. It is so fun to have the bear in there he is so funny!
Also, she works with a really famous makeup artist for the film industry that is an old friend and together they put on these beautiful shows called "Human Vase": lapetitegardenia.com/por…
How awesome is that?
LetMePutItThisWay: If you are looking to do anything floral, and you interview Alison for the job, you are going to be hard pressed to find someone you want to work with more.
I personally will be working with her on a show at Discanso Gardens in April, as well as I want to be in her next Human Vase Show with my artwork.
