Jack, and his pup Uggz are the very best!!! My little dog Abbey Road absolutely loves both of them -- and she's 1/8 the size of Uggz! Jack takes his dogs on a daily adventure -- and the result is a happy, tired dog :)
I've also had my dog board with Jack. I was initially nervous because Abbey Road is picky and really prefers to stay home. Well, not when it comes to staying with Jack. She had so much fun (as evidenced by the photos and video he sent and her eating all her meals!!) I was worried she would be bored coming back home to a lone-dog home!
I really can't say enough about how gentle and wonderful jack is -- and he's also amazing to work with. He has great communication and answers promptly to texts and messages. He also regularly posts photos of the dogs on walks. It is so cute!
More than anything, it is obvious the impact he's having on Abbey Road. She's more confident and happier. It's just wonderful. If I could give him 10 stars I would.
I've been seeing Dr Chiu for almost 10 years as she has moved from different clinics and to Bellevue. I've been so impressed with her skill and knowledge. She is thoughtful and considerate. I have dark skin and worry a lot about age spots and my skins response to light treatments (I often get darker when I am trying to remove dark spots). Dr Chiu always does a test prior to treatment to gage my skin's reaction. I also find that she has an artistic touch and uses minimal product / invasion -- which makes a difference to me. Additionally, I've been really impressed with her skin care recommendations. They are always spot on and I leave feeling refreshed -- and looking it too!
It took a long time (13 minutes on hold) to get to a service rep after my email went unanswered only to find out that they will only provide service to apartment buildings with over 10 units, even if they have service in the building next door they can't extend to your units if they are under 10.
Understand the policy, just wish it was more clearly articulated on their website.
Shift is one of the best services that I have ever worked with -- and I loved that they leveraged technology + people to make it all happen. I was very focused on finding a specific type of car and their service made it easy for me track (aka stalk!) their inventory and then schedule a test drive. Thank you for making what I was worried would be a headache of a process super easy.
Meh. We booked appointments for a Sunday appointment and were delayed to start and then the timing was off so we finished at different times. Additionally, the skill of the manicurist's wasn't great. It is essential that nails be 100% oil free in order for polish to adhere - but mine was sloppily prepped and the result is that two days after the manicure the edges are flaking off. Boo.
I took the WFR (Wilderness First Responder) course with ReadySF. They use the NOLS - WMI curriculum and I was absolutely impressed with how the course was designed and executed by ReadySF.
Dave (the owner of ReadySF) and Nissa (a NOLS instructor) were articulate, positive and extremely helpful. Their knowledge of medicine in the wilderness is detailed and brought to life with relevant real-world experiences. The course is set-up so that about half the time is in the classroom - learning the fundamentals of the patient assessment system and the various types of injuries you can be exposed to outdoors. The other half is outdoors in mock scenarios and practice. These mock sessions were invaluable -- and so well executed.
In addition to amazing course instruction, the people who take a WFR class are pretty awesome and add to the experience in many useful and fun ways. Overall, this was one of my best learning experiences.
My one recommendation for those considering this course: take the time off of work to fully dedicate to the class, and if possible, stay close by so you don't have to deal with traffic and other mundane logistics. It is *intense* and you learn a whole new set of terminology and wilderness practices. It is also fun :)
Loved this place - truly authentic japanese grill! we sat at the counter (40 min wait, had a glass of wine while we waited). The food was all meticulously prepared. The cucumber was great, all of the grilled items -- and we had the most amazing dessert: coconut milk, tapioca and frozen banana. I can't wait to go back.
Urban Remedy is amazing! I used to stop by their location in San Rafael -- and I'm so happy they opened up in the 'hood. everything they make is beautifully crafted, but I'm a particular fan of their kale chips & creme caramel vegan snack. The juices are tasty and I love how creative their combinations are.
I went in to get my roots touched up -- which I thought would be fairly simple. unfortunately the stylist went super dark (I have dark brown hair) and I now have black roots :(
when I mentioned this to the stylist her response was "yeah, I'll make a note in your file that you like it warmer next time." I think that response was what did it for me -- the sort of careless "sorry I screwed up your hair, next time will be better!"
however, the salon is nice and the front desk staff were great. I won't be back but I think with a more mature stylist things could be better.
