Best burgers in St. Louis. And affordable. And fun. It really seems like people enjoy working here, and the food is so good!

I've really enjoyed my three visits to Gioia's, both here and at their location on Ballas Road. Here's my review:

Food/Cost ratio- I'd give Gioia's a solid 4. Their sandwiches are really good, and will put you down for the day. I got the classic hot salami sandwich, and the slices of salami were thick and juicy- you definitely get a lot of sandwich for the price. It was delicious. Why 4 and not a 5? There were no sandwiches cheaper than $10, as far as I could tell. For a neighborhood deli like this, I'd love there to be more inexpensive options to make it a more accessible place.

Atmosphere: 4. The atmosphere at The Hill is classic Italian Deli. We didn't get to eat inside, because at the time COVID was preventing indoor dining, but the shop was cool! It'll definitely be back.

Service: 4. All the workers were friendly and seemed to enjoy their work at Gioia's. The sandwiches were well-constructed. All in all, a good experience.

All that being said, Gioia's is a great local St. Louis sandwich option! The price will keep it from being a regular, once-a-week or twice-a-month option for me, but if you're good with putting down a little more than $10 for a delicious, generously portioned sandwich, this is the place for you. Come hungry!

I came here with a friend, and let me tell you, this review is going to be redundant. This place is so great, and I can't wait until I'm back. Without further ado:

Food/Cost ratio: 5. 5. 5. I got a döner kebab, and it was gigantic, not to mention delicious. It literally covered half of my large dinner plate. It's been a minute since I've been here, so I can't recall exact details, but it was large. And delicious.

Atmosphere: 4.5. It's not cute, by any means. But my question with atmosphere is, "Does the way this place present itself make me want to come more or less?" And in the case of Zlatno Zitno, I would definitely say, "more!" It's an unassuming, slightly gritty Eastern European grocery store. The ladies running the place are friendly, and there's an authenticity to it that I really enjoy.

Service: 4. The ladies who run the place are friendly, and your food is made to order. Nothing to complain about here!

All that being said, if you're really hungry, love tastes outside of your ordinary, and want to try a local gem, Zlatno Zitno is the place for you!

Cafe Nova was one of our first places we ate when we arrived in St. Louis last year. We loved it. Here's my review:

Food/Cost ratio: 4.5. I don't say this lightly, and I've never been to Greece, so take this with a grain of salt, but the gyro I had here was the best gyro I ever had. If it was just a *little cheaper, this place would be a 5, but I'm happy to give it a 4.5!

Atmosphere: 4. We didn't sit inside at the time, but there's plenty of outdoor seating at Cafe Nova! We liked the vibe, although I did get bit by a decent amount of mosquitoes - chalk that up to St Louis, though.

Service: 3. I will say that our service was pretty slow, it wasn't bad service, per say, and our servers were friendly, but I think we caught them between the end of one shift and the beginning of another, and got lost in the shuffle. So it was slower than we would like.

All in all, make sure to check out Cafe Nova- want the best gyro in town at an affordable price? Look no further!
