The oldest restaurant on Congress for a reason.

This place stands the test of time. The food is hot, fresh, authentic and always delivered by the most professional, courteous weight staff. It's beautiful and romantic, but also loud and bustling if you're meeting friends.

I'm decently sure the supply might be the most important dish in Austin. I would do some terrible things if faced with the option of doing them or losing the suppli forever.

The pasta dishes are freshly made, and they even do risotto made on the spot which does take time but it's worth the wait. I appreciate that there's different size options so that if you want to share, drown your sorrows, or just get a taste to satisfy an urge, there's an option for all of it.

Every time I'm here I'm here for hours, and the waiter never rushes us, they never get fed up and they're always full of knowledge. Just low-key high key love Vespaio!

Food: great oysters, great fries, great sauces

Service: bless his heart, he may have been off his game for the night, but our server at the bar forgot parts of our order, got other parts wrong, was just generally forgetful, but he was sweet. We were greeted pretty instantly with the information that there was a private party so the kitchen would be delayed and this after waiting to be acknowledged for almost 10 min-, but I feel like if there's a private party maybe you staff up?

The location is awesome but the interior feels confusing. Half Steakhouse, half smoothie bar was kind of the vibe but it's not like that ruins an experience. Overall it's fine ...it's conveniently located and the oysters were good so might do it again but not rushing back.

      cute and mostly hype worthy!

The place is cute and has nice vibe but overall kind of feels like a hotel lobby. Almost feels a little too stuffy but that could just be a personal preference of feeling like austin doesn't fit that vibe.

The drinks are kind of gimmicky though the little tequila shots actually were delicious. I'm just not sure about the rest. Definitely Instagram cute and fun with friends but not the best cocktails I've ever had.

but I will say the service and the food delivered. The fries are good, but the truffle Parmesan fries are hands-down. The best french fries I've had anywhere and that's really saying something. The Waggy burger was juicy, and the Hamachi Crudo had the most bright flavorful sauce. scallops looked like they were cooked perfection and I heard rave reviews on the salmon. Overall, everyone was really happy with their meals and that's a hard thing to accomplish in food service.

Gabe was an absolute doll. I mean just the most attentive, immaculate server. One of the girls was scared to confess that she felt her steak was a bit overcooked and he intuitively noticed and said he had no problem taking it back because he personally wouldn't be happy with that. It took all the heat off her and was handled with such class that no one even cared that It was initially overcooked. he was wonderful, and so was the whole experience.

definitely will go back because the place was Poppin and I might have drummed about the fries:

never trust a pretty breakfast taco, and this is no exception.

Does it photograph well? No. Does it eat well? Hell yes.
I grew up in San Antonio and I live in Austin so needless to say my heart seeks the perfect breakfast taco and I have found it.
Fluffy homemade tortillas, creamy refried beans, the creamiest cheese on the planet, fresh avocados, crispy bacon, and the juiciest most flavorful Barbacoa.
Red chunky salsa THE BEST KIND!

      No notes. No crumbs.
Couldn't be more excited to have found this , even off Uber Eats!

if you've had all the barbecue, good news, you haven't had this barbecue.
At first it might horrify you to find out there's a Texas barbecue restaurant that doesn't have brisket and ribs on the menu every day but that's because they don't have to.
It's new school barbecue with old-school service and they live up to that.
It's not such a departure that you feel ripped off after craving barbecue, but it is something fresh and different that hits oh so right. I tried the pork burger and it was delicious but I can just tell you right now never ever come here without getting the traditional smoked burger. It's the best burger I've ever ever had.
The artisanal sausages are incredible, and the chorizo one almost gives, an even more exotic fusion. From the Kale Cesar to the beet bloody Mary to the German chocolate cobbler... You've almost had all this, but I've never had any of it.
