While on vacation in Williamsburg, we drove by this restaurant, and saw some menu items on the marquee, so we had to stop by. I ordered take out. The customer service was great, restaurant nice, clean and appealing. I didn't like that the waiting room was outside the restrooms, so I chose to wait outside instead. The food was delicious. The ribs, although they tasted good, I got a half rack and was served the back portion, aweful. I couldn't eat but one full rib. The back portion leaves for the stringy section, perhaps I need to ask for the small rib portion. The beans were good, and the burnt ends were amazing. Tender, thick pieces, and a large portion. The wings were good too, plump, fresh, big and seasoned just right. This meal was so good, we ordered food to go for our trip back home. They were nice enough to wrap in foil and package it where it was still warm when we got home. I added the catfish and it was good too. A great smokehouse and bbq restaurant to visit in Williamsburg.

    • Mexican

      Virginia Beach, VA

So being a Cali native, I know Mexican food, and this place is tops when looking for authentic Mexican food on the east coast. It was delicious, the ambiance, the decor, all that was just great. The music was too loud, but I was assuming it was for the Friday night crowd. We got in early, and saw the place starting to fill up. So the menu had everything from my old hometown and more. My husband had the Carne Asada nachos, and every bite was followed by a sign of goodness and an eye roll, so yes, they were to die for delicious. I ordered the combo of enchilada, chimichanga, rice, beans, and tamale. The tamale was overdone, and the chimichanga wasn't as robust as I thought, but everything was well made, fresh and delicious. The fountain drinks were enormous like 32 ounces, that we couldn't finish but we didn't have to ask for refills. The service was great from entering the door to checking out. A great authentic Mexican restaurant you'll have to stop by and enjoy. Kudos to the decorator the art around the restaurant was superb.

OMG, great stuff, read all about it. First vacation to Williamsburg, VA, Colonial Virginia history town and I'm noticing pancake restaurants everywhere, it was so odd, I found myself saying at the next one, oh not another pancake house, and sure enough, that was the name of the restaurant. Too funny. So we made plans to go for Sunday breakfast. The ambiance was great, clean restaurant, seating was great where we weren't piled on each other. There were two big group seated no problem, so great for group eating, and the noise level was great for us to enjoy our meal. Great service, the meal came right out, hot, with everything we asked for. Scrambled eggs were a little overdone for me but maybe because I asked for scrambled hard. Sausage was amazingly good and seemed freshly made, pancakes were fluffy and tasty. I was impressed. When we checked out we asked the wife of the owner or co-owner a bunch of questions about why so many pancake houses, and how did they get the name, and what's the story of the five brother. Loved the conversation and history, five star experience all around. When in, or schedule a visit to Williamsburg just to check out this place, and see and learn for yourself. You can't miss it, it's literally called not another pancake house. LOL

When you're driving back from vacation and see a smoke stack pumping out smokey goodness, and a line inside with a sure 30 minute wait, you just have to stop and get a slab on a Sunday evening right. WRONG! What a hot mess! We got home to find our meal was not even worth a 1-star rating. Ribs were tough like they were two days past their do-no-eat date; yams mushy overdone with a ton of sugar added; collards were good, but straight in the pot no cut, rip nothing, just a bowl of long leaves; mac and cheese inedible; and lastly the peach cobbler, I've never tasted grainy peach cobbler, what is that? Tried a few bites of all and couldn't do it, it was awful. It was a waste of $40, OMG! Try your chances, or go to a place you KNOW has great food. Sorry...fix the problem. Don't publicize freshness and serve old, on a holiday weekend Sunday.. it was just not right.

      Solomons, MD

The famous Solomons Island Tiki Bar, I finally made the visit, and it's all it's cracked up to be. Cash only bar, no drinking outside of the bar area, snacks provide free, grab a meal from across the alley, sit and enjoy. A great drink after a great day on the island. And the Mai Thai was all that and more. Great service too.
