Hand's-down, BEST tea room in Florida. They have hats with costumes that you can wear, including kids costumes too! Their tiered tea service is phenomenal - LOTs of choices with finger sanwiches, desserts, quiche and more. We were served earl grey tea which was a little unusual, because I'm used to picking a tea during tea service, and I'm not even a fan of earl grey tea. Hands-down again, the best earl tea on the planet. I think I tasted notes of lavender, but that could have been from the colored sugar flowers I added to the tea. Not sure - and don't care - it just taste phenomenal. The atmosphere is incredible. Staff are extra friendly and attentative. They even provided the service for us a little early because they had a private party booked later during normal tea service time. Overall - 550 star experience - couldn't have been better! Thanks for providing a long standing traditional with excellence and class!

This is a cute little place in Mount Dora, which is a great find on it's own. The service is very good and the food is excellent. I had the The Marlborough which was finger sandwiches, desserts and I added on the scone and jam. The sandwiches were excellent and a nice variety. The desserts were less of a variety - the spongecake itself was huge for a tea house dessert. What was nice and special about this tea house is everything didn't have onion in it which is a bonus given I'm allergic. The breads used to prepare the finger sandwiches are beyond fresh. I had an orange herbal tea, I forget the name and it was divine. They served with honey which was perfect. The scone was a little on the dry side so thankfully they served it with jam. The place wasn't that crowed on a weekday and very reasonably priced. I wish the Marlborough came with a cup of soup or quiche but I guess you can add that on seeing it's only $16 - about $10 less than average tea houses. Overall GREAT experience and I will definitely be back. Thanks!

I had really high hopes for this place and they delivered on most of it. I had afternoon tea which doesn't include soup (more on that in a bit). The desserts in the tier tray were divine. There was a tiny stawberry parfait that was the bomb and best of all. A chocolate chip scone which was cooked perfectly (although was more of a cookie than a scone). Then a tiny cookie and brownie which were very good - all 5 stars and perfect sized for tea house tray service. Service was also good too. My finger sandwiches were an open faced dill cucumber and some type of dessert fruit sandwich with nuts on it - both were very good - around 4+ star. Unfortunately I couldn't have any of the hot items traditionally included in the high tea because ALL of them contained onion and I have an allicin allergy! So zero stars for cooking all hot soups and quiches with onions, given enough people don't like onions and in some cases, we're allergic! The tea selection was solid, a lot of exotic choices which should be standard in a good tea house. I usually like blood orange or some type of orange tea that didn't seem to be avail, but I had the Raspberry in Paris rooibos which was excellent. The place is decorated cutely, not a lot of clutter and the unique dishes were all perfect. Overall solid experience but unfortunately I won't be returning due to the fact that I couldn't even have all of the tea sandwiches, such as the chicken salad because this place seems to be obsessed with putting onions in almost everything! This would have been a 1-star review if they couldn't accomodate me at all, so I'm grateful they did their best with what they had - that was lovely.

I've eaten here 3 times and it's been pretty fabulous every time, although not consistent. The sage gravy for biscuits is to die for, so are their biscuits with topping. I also really like their potatoes. One time my breakfast was served a certain way, and when I ordered the same thing on a different day, it was provided totally differently which was confusing. But, it was so good I didn't really care. Love love love this place - very good outdoor eating too!

Waste of a long drive. I drove almost an hour one-way to find the most outrageously priced items here. Believe the other reviews about the prices here - they are real and I wish I would have seen these first. I also observed over a dozen staff members in 3 of their buildings with NO customers - it seems I'm the only one that tried to shop here and failed because I'm not paying $400 for a nightstand or $3,500 for a plain mid-sized bedroom bureau. This places feels and seems like a ripoff!
