Nice guys, quick response time, and a great job on a grill that was embarrassingly in need of cleaning. Now that we found Back2New we have no excuses to wait so long next time. Thank you!

After a recent relocation to Milwaukee, I needed to find a new dentist. I had been going to my former dentist 2x/year for over 10 years. I've had very few past dental problems; the most work he ever did was to replace a few old silver fillings I had as a child with resin composites. When I went to Dr. Rau, the hygienist first checked my insurance and mentioned my good coverage. She said she'd never seen work like the one my dentist had done and that cavities were underneath the replacement fillings. Furthermore, she showed me pictures of a lot of tiny brown marks on my teeth that she said were cavities. I also had a crack in a tooth that needed a crown. All in all, they said I needed 3 fillings and 2 crowns.

This was unsettling to me, because not only had I been to the dentist every ~6 months, but my other dentist had a good reputation. I decided to get a second opinion after doing a more thorough research of Milwaukee dentists. I had to pay out of pocket for a second exam, as my insurance was used up, but I'm thankful I did. The next dentist said he "couldn't come close to what the first dentist told me was needed" and that my prior dental work was all in good shape. The brown marks were not cavities - just stains, the crack in one tooth wasn't through the enamel yet and did not justify a crown. Only one tooth had a cavity which I had him take care of, and that was the end of it.

I cannot comment on Dr. Rau's work, only that I would be cautious if there's a lot of unexpected dental work to be done. The 2nd exam I had to pay for without insurance ended up costing me far less money, time, and discomfort in the long run.
