Though they are closed now, figured I'd leave a review for what once was. I found myself on Tully Road and when I drove by last night, I saw it is now operating as a Mexican restaurant, it's a shame Pho Bang closed. We used to go to Pho Bang back when I worked down the street from them up until 2019, the pho and rice plates were good as I recall.

Granted the building was a bit older but that never took away from the food and service which was good and never disappointed. Pho Bang was also the only spot I ever won a decent amount on the scratchers they sold, 4 stars for the food and memories of it all.

The only time I ever found a $1,000 prize on a scratcher was at Pho Bang during lunch.

Seems like the Red Lobster on Almaden is permanently closed not temporarily as stated on here and their website. Signage on the door directs everyone to the Capitol/Aborn or Milpitas locations. The signage has been removed from the building too as of today.

That said much like the now gone Chevys across the way, I remember when them and the Red Lobster here were always busy (complete with a wait to get a table) in their hey day. Toward the end neither had a wait and it was a walk in and get seated more or less, certainly odd given how Red Lobster was always packed as was Chevys.

Need to see now what will rise in Red Lobsters place as it's on a prime spot along Almaden Expressway.

Steer clear of any place that has their name on the signs, among the worst with predatory tow companies between apartments and malls.

Self explanatory, yet another shady "tow" business

Glad we ate here one last time (this past Saturday) as I had a feeling their days were numbered. The wait was long and staffing was running thin (due to employees leaving for other jobs-which led to El Burros early permanent closure)

Service was good overall that day and the food the same as I've always remembered it being in addition to a good value for the price paid. This was the standby we'd go to for years and never had any issues with the food, service or take out.

It was nice to dine out on the patio on a no e summers evening or inside. To think of it, over the years, sat in almost every dining room there, the first floor front, side and back dining rooms, the bar area and the upper level.

That said,as for you Pruneyard, you just lost another customer. I liked the direction it was going with the remodel (it looks good as it blended new stylings with the existing buildings) , then the closures and changes became too numerous. Gone is the Le Boulanger, the bakery near Buca Di Beppo, Lisa's Tea Treasures and now El Burro. The rumor mill, though just that, has also been going that Outback Steakhouse and many other places in proximity of El Burro might be on their way out.

I get things and times change, sure remodel the Pruneyard, freshen it up and add some new stores/restaurants to complement the existing, established tenants that resided/reside in the Pruneyard. If I wanted a Santana Row experience, I'd go there, not the Pruneyard. It had a certain charm and nice mix of reasonable stores/restaurants that is all but pushed out for this attempt at mimicking Santana Row.

Best of luck El Burro and hope you secure another spot nearby, be it the Elephant Bar spot or somewhere else nearby, until next time.

Not so good, location is convenient and new but that's about it. This review is solely based on wanting an order of biscuits on the side to have with other food ordered elsewhere. The menu board said 7.99 for 12 of them, cashier rings it up at 10.98 total with tax. I point out that the menu says 7.99 but he doesn't adjust the price. I should have left at that point but I just paid. The began the long wait, that was the last straw, it shouldn't take 15 minutes. I had the manager refund me the money and left.

Not sure if they are working out all the kinks still since it's somewhat new, staffing/training issues or not being prepared for super bowl Sunday. I've been to other Popeyes and they aren't near as bad as the experiences I had here. Might give this place another chance down the road to see if things change.
