Great time had during our visit!
Upon entering, you realize it another "loft-office" type of space with a small sitting area in the front, bar in the middle, and restrooms in the back. Really cool and we'll thought out decor matches the Trinidadian (Caribbean) theme w/ palm tree lamps, mixologist shirts, and definitely the drinks.
Great service! They really seem to enjoy making drinks and providing friendly service. They may even ask, "how do you like the drinks" or provide you with recommendations for a type of drink you desire (sweet, citrusy, bitter, strong, etc.).
Now, the good stuff...fantastic drinks! You know a bar makes quality drinks when you're thinking about what to order on your "next visit"! Prohibition pirate, teetotaler, or lightweight, this place has it all! The names are pretty cool as well with the historic touch to boot.
Try the Army Navy, Laura's Strong Martini, Mai Tai, Bramble, or Porn Star Martini. You probably can't lose with anything on the menu. Every once in a while, glance over and see the mixologists shaking martinis, flipping shaker tins, jiggers, and strainers. They're good at it and work fast!
Now the good stuff.
Overall, this upscale restaurant in the heart of a gentrified area (hmm) of Louisville is a must. Go for the ambience & decor, drink ingredients & combinations, everything on the menu, and potentially the service (meh).
Location: every city has a storied location/ area like this
Reservations: a few days early, but no later than the morning of...this place is stack all the time and understandably so
Decor: fancy and great use of space with booths, cool lighting, clean and historic touch in bathrooms
Sip & Chew: local brews on draft or in containers with an up or down in price (Saison) and/or you can go hard with their unique cocktails (NY Sour); only 3 salad options to choose from, but all of them made our choice difficult... definitely get the one w/ the most interesting ingredients (yes, there was Blue Cheese ice cream in our salad... mouth dance!); finally, our entrees we're fantastic w/ nice presentation, quality ingredients, and absolutely delicious (shrimp n grits & fettuccine).
Garcon: not very present throughout the evening despite the good money people pay to eat here, but not rude, just a little perplexed over the lack of table visits or genuine convo from our server and witnessing that of others (dry & robotic, too serious and inauthentic?)
Great! Decor (rustic chic w/ spacious areas throughout)and entree & appetizer selection on menu, views of inner city w/ huge windows
Okay. Beer selection.
Poor! Service from management and server. Expect long waits for service throughout your visit. It wasn't just me either. Two groups nearby experienced the same service during lunch with only a few patrons in our area??

Gregory, thank you for sharing. My apologies that you felt like the attention from management was poor-we would love to make this up to you should you find yourself in Louisville again.
Overall, a great place to have gourmet burgers and seemingly seafood!
Order it: Southern Bell Burger (topped with fried green tomatoes, rémoulade sauce, and pimento cheese, on a pretzel bun; sweet potato fries with smoked pineapple dipping sauce.
I especially liked: size of burgers (behemoth...stick your face in it) & decor (floors resembled oak barrels)
Beware of: a wait as it's one of the most popular joints in Louisville

Hi Gregory! Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to share your feedback! We are so glad to hear that you are a fan of our Southern Bell Burger! We can't wait for you to dine with us again soon to explore more of our menu :)
Top notch pizza joint...now available to B'ham suburbs (V. Hills)! If you're one of those, " I don't venture beyond the city often..." or "I hate 280 blah blah blah..." type of person...this location is not for you. However, if you love ALL of B'ham, you should definitely check out Slice's 2nd location!
Yes to the decor and space (loft meets lodge), abundant beer selection (tap & bottle), TVs, full bar, and friendly staff.
No to full sunlight shining through, but I imagine they'll solve this soon. I saw waiters shading the rays during each table visit.
Feature: Pizza, of course! Combos for meat lovers & vegetarians. We ordered half and half (shout out to customer-friendly options) of Little Piggy & Old School. The toppings we're tasty and so was the dough. When the dough is almost as good as the toppings, you know you found the right place.
I highly recommend you try this new location, if you're a fan of Slice or quality pizza.
