EDIT/UPDATE: a woman was found shot to death at Townhomes at Stonecrest on 12/5/18.

On Friday, November 2, 2018, my mother (who resides in these townhomes) was lounging at home on her living room sofa and enjoying a movie alone when an unknown intruder kicked in her front door. Thankfully, she was able to escape to safety unscathed, albeit quite shaken. While I understand that property management cannot be expected to prevent people from committing crimes on the premises, the fact that no one came to secure the apartment within a timely manner subsequent to the attempted home invasion is ridiculous: the maintenance man had death in the family and was unable to come (understandably so - my condolences), but the backup maintenance guy, Howard, failed to show up 2-3 hours after the fact. One of our family members had to come over to secure the residence with his own personal tools, and after calling Howard once again around midnight to see if he was still coming (he had already said he was on his way around 9pm), he proceeded to make a plethora of excuses, claiming that "Donnell didn't tell me that it was this serious, I can be there in 15 minutes, but I don't have a master key to the property, I can put a two-by-four over the door for the time being," and blah, blah, blah. Frankly, we were exhausted and in no mood to wait any longer, so we all went to our respective homes and took our mother with us. I find it unconscionable that this matter was not handled with any sense of urgency, and the apartment would not have been secured but for our family member who happens to own his own business and have access to the necessary tools it takes to fix up a kicked-in door. The police also said that the door wasn't very secure to begin with: the locks on the doors are only three inches deep when they should be five, smh. The property manager, Mandy Schulte, finally called my mother almost three days after the fact, offering no kind of apology or explanation for why it took so long for a follow-up and quite frankly, had a nasty attitude that was shockingly insolent, insouciant, and defensive. I'm already hip to Mandy, however: earlier this year, my mother's stove had broken, and she was without a working oven for two weeks before I finally had to go up there and threaten Mandy with legal action (she kept saying they were waiting on the part for the stove, but after I met with her and she started crying for no reason, she magically was able to procure the part within two days of our meeting). Outrageous. Townhomes at Stonecrest is the epitome of egregious unprofessionalism and is ran by phony, inept people who lack empathy, common sense, and reasonable follow-through. DO NOT rent from this awful place if you can help it - it's all about making a quick buck off working class citizens.

I absolutely respect what Stray Rescue is about, but I would be remiss not to call them out on their lack of professionalism: my partner and I adopted a dog from them in November 2017, and we've tried to take advantage of the free dog training they advertise upon adoption of the pet, but every time we call to enroll our pet into training, they always say the classes are already in progress - and that's only if we're lucky to catch a live person on the phone (we've also left a plethora of messages that were never even so much as acknowledged). On a recent occasion, the latest excuse given was that they're switching training companies, and the woman said someone would call us back - and naturally, no one ever did. This is RIDICULOUS. Our pooch is the sweetest girl ever, but she needs professional training, and it's truly disappointing and infuriating that Stray Rescue has turned a deaf ear to our repeated requests for assistance. Quite lame, to say the least. I'd call and lodge a formal complaint, but there's never anyone around to answer the damn phone.

The staff is super friendly, and despite the fact that the service had a few hiccups, the ambiance and energy made it forgivable. The burgers are delicious! I definitely would like to return when they're hosting a drag show. Cool place!
