It's April 2nd 2020 and the World is adjusting to
All The restrictions that come with COVID-19.
Chipotle (at least South ELGIN location)is not adjusting very well. I honestly feel for the three or four employees TOTAL that are hurrying to fill orders that come in via phone or online.
At 7:55pm There is a group of 15 people waiting outside including several door dash people picking up multiple orders- A few employees pop out the door shout out names and some people would come up to take their order.
No real organization-no list of people standing outside taken (and their pick up time)so that we
all can realize who is here and how long they have been waiting for- I had to ask two separate times for someone to bring out a paper and pen and
start making a list so we ALL can get a better point of reference of how long it's going to be for the orders to be finished- And to avoid wasting time making orders for people who aren't standing outside waiting now.
The one of the employees kept saying that a manager was going to come out... Honestly I don't believe there was any manager on site.
The Short of it-my order was handed to me 50 minutes past the pick up time.
what "playing business" looks like: hmmm...where to start...originally found the business on thumbtack, however after speaking with thumbtack cs- i'm told aapwalker was removed from thumbtack's site making it impossible to leave a review there.
i've had aprox 10 cleanings done, typically once every two weeks.
the positive- all and all the cleaning services
itself are good, it's all the other aspect of how things are done
the issues:
1) last minute cancelations-
2x's canceled on our scheduled cleaning appts. 90 mins prior to expected arrival
-prepare your self-you'll find this funny: one of those times the owner jamel or "mel" as his mom calls him(his mom works for the business) tells me that he was doing a quote/ getting a contract
signed with a new client that's why he cancelled !
-another last minute cancellation- jamel says his mom quit this morning.
2) advertising/performing services they are under/unexperienced & unequipped to do-
see i.e. carpet cleaning; master bed rm carpet was wet for days- had to fold back
the carpet & pad and rent a commercial fan to dry carpet
needless to say shame on me for not putting a stop to the service when jamel's father(yep dad was on the cleaning crew that day)showed up with a rented rug doctor machine and jamel's mom & dad proceeded to take about 10 mins to read the directions and figure out how to use it.
~ i'll note that we were given a free service,
yet it took a week for the wet carpet smell to go away
3) unreasonable/unwarranted price increase and wanting to eliminate
areas being cleaned....simultaneously !!
-after already cleaning 8-9x's for us
i get a text five days prior to our pre-arranged cleaning date- saying they are going to raise the price $40 and eliminate cleaning 2 of 3 bed rms and the sunroom(which is part of the house, has hvac) and the laundry rm!
laundry rm; is the rm i need cleaned the most!
4) owner: jamel is in over his head, takes days to get back to you on an issue/or not at all-
after a only a few phone interactions with him i told him i'll only deal with shirley(his mom), after that he actually
has the stupidity to show up at
our home unannounced(while a cleaning
was happening) why?..to reiterate that
they're "having people sign contracts this year"
5) expecting us to sign a cleaning contract with language lacking
anything to hold the business accountable to the client if said
business doesn't perform.
wth... we don't have an official contract with our contractor or a guy who does landscaping work, and they're doing jobs valued at five figures!
-why would we wanna enter into a contract
with a cleaning company?
6) best way to describe jamel...complacent, immature, may be a business owner some day, for now he's "playing business"
has his hands in many "businesses"(so says his mom)
After reading the previous review- I have to say that's a shame and it should be addressed, hopefully the doctor is taking the time to read reviews- through my Nextdoor app SIX neighbors recommend Johnson dermatology(Dr Johnson) !
Very Good ice cream, had the Strawberry Oreo.
Strawberries were very fresh, great presentation.
They have BUBBLE Tea !
Part of the experience is watching them make
the ice cream treat. Talked with ERIC, he assured me that this is how Ice cream is done in Asia- very low sugar, everything fresh, they make everything to order, no product sitting in the back.
I also had the Taro Moon Bubble Tea on the way out.
For authentic Taste of Asia try these:
+ ANY Bubble Tea
+ GIANT GREEN
+ MORNING LATTE
+ THAILAND
+ TARO MOON(topped w/Mochi an snack that is common in Taiwan and China
If your hankering ice cream- A great way to do dessert !
Delicious food; garlic nan, soft and warm!
vegetarian hors d'oeuvres appetizer to start.
I had Gosht Biriyani, he had Chana Masala the Lamb pieces were moist-couldn't get enough of
the sauce. We were next to a party of 15...at first Service was not so good, then a more senior server took over, things went smooth from there on out. Will return!
