I've been a CPY obsessed black tag member for 6 years. I only come to this studio during the week because I live in DT and it is convenient, but on the weekends or if time permits I'd rather go to Pasadena or Hollywood. The new studios including the DTLA location just does not do it for me. The heating system does not get hot enough and the lack of humidity makes it even harder to break a sweat. I usually have to wear a sweater to class to just bring somewhat of a sweat and by the time I do, the teacher opens the door and lets all the air out ugh. This is not just me because if you look around the room most people are not sweating and the floor is dry. If you practice in Hollywood/Pasadena/Studio City, you will find that is not the case. I would still recommend CPY to people but if you want a hot and challenging class, I'd go to a different location.

Do not stay here if you want to get any sleep and relaxation. The walls and floors are so thin. You can hear the neighbor's toilet flush, their AC unit on, water from the shower and sink, even the sound from the light switch. I requested top floor but didn't get it. I was hoping our neighbors would be considerate and respectful. Boy was I wrong...we heard footsteps until 2 am and loud conversations outside in the balcony all night. We did complain but noise continued.

The hype is real! Saw so much media coverage for this place so had to go try it out. Otono is brand new to Highland Park, next to Blind Barber and Pop Physique. They're serving classic Spanish dishes but with a modern twist. Every dish my table ordered was delicious. Ingredients are locally sourced and very fresh. My favorite item from the night is the anchovies, radish, and goat butter with toast. Definitely a must. I also liked the Dashi Negra (paella with scallops). Can't wait to try the Farmers Market Paella the next time I go back. For dessert I am a huge fan of the Beet Morcilla. I like how it wasn't super sweet and made with beets. You don't see that often. My favorite cocktail was Drink to Fernat. Josh the mixologist killed it with this one. It was so tasty that I had several.
Besides great food/drinks, the service and ambiance made it an enjoyable experience.

      Updated review

Several months have gone by since my last review. I've seen lots of improvements so I have been coming here more and more. Sculpt classes are definitely more challenging and there have been schedule adjustments to accommodate for the busy classes. The classes haven't been busy since students are on break. I'm not looking forward to when they come back though. Lately the heating system has been acting up and not working. Luckily the weather outside has been warm and if the class is big enough you can build some heat.

I rarely eat Korean BBQ but when I do I only get my meat from Choice Meat Market and cook it at home using my Teppanyaki tabletop grill. The meat quality here is great and there are so many options. I use to buy from Hmart but now I can't go back there. Yes it is pricier than the market and probably the same if you were to go to to a restaurant, but I personally enjoy preparing my own sides (so I know what is in it) and having a meal at home without the long waits, loud noise, and smelling like Korean BBQ the rest of the night. I think it is worth the extra splurge.

I always get about 1.5 lbs of the non-marinated short ribs and 1 - 1.5 lbs of bulgogi and turn this into multiple meals for me and my boyfriend. They also have a nice selection of dip sauces, sides, and veggies. You can't leave without getting the sliced green onions and I usually just buy the lettuce from here too.
