I was craving pizza, but not just any pizza, the Cheeser Cheeser Pizza. I am very particular and like my food how I like my food, so I'm willing to pay extra for it. I ordered my pizza with double pepperoni, extra garlic butter brushed on the pizza and extra Parmesan on the crust. This took the basic pizza from being $7.99 to $12. I ALWAYS order my pizza this way and it's USUALLY worth it...NOT THIS TIME!!! As soon as the girl at the counter opened the box I questioned her, "is this the way it's supposed to look?" She claimed that's how it comes. I told her I get this pizza all the time and that I know for a fact it doesn't. At first I asked for a refund but I REALLY wanted pizza so I just asked if they could remake it and she agreed, but then I could hear my daughter's voice asking me "why would you let them remake your food?" She was a server for a few years and confirmed most people's theory that some restaurant workers are doing stuff to your food when you complain or they view you as problematic. By this time she was on the phone so I just said never mind and snatched my pizza up and left. This pizza usually has about 1/2 to 1 inch of crust around the edge that has no sauce or toppings BUT this pizza literally had 3 inches of crust with nothing on it; I'm talking breadstick pizza; you know, as in pizza with built in breadsticks as the border of the pizza. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! Please see attached pics!!! smh. I will NEVER give this establishment (or chain for that matter) another penny of my money!

My husband and I are definitely "Foodies", and since we are empty nesters we eat out 4-6 times per week. He sent me an IG post of some grilled salmon and an Impossible Philly from Yummies Cafe yesterday and it looked so good we decided to try them out (the same day). Not many places offer Impossible as a Philly cheese steak so I was excited. I am very picky and was a little apprehensive since we'd never eaten here before so I suggested we order 1 sandwich & share it. We ordered the Philly with fries and I was anxious to delve in once our food was delivered to the table. I was so anxious in fact that I didn't even think to take any pictures. We have had Impossible burgers from almost every place that offers them in and around the city and have had the Philly's from the few places that we know of that offers them, including Grant Park Market and Slutty Vegan. Let me just say that this was THE BEST Impossible ANYTHING that I've had from anywhere. I usually request my "meat" be cooked a little longer to make sure it's not undercooked because while this is not actually meat I have had it from other places where it was pink or red once broken open and even when I did eat meat I always ate it well done. In requesting this, sometimes it will be over cooked to the point that it's crispy. You can tell when the chef or cook is familiar with this product and knows how to cook it. The meat was seasoned well, tender and juicy. The bread was oh so soft and all the toppings (onions, peppers, etc) were grilled to perfection. The French fries were hot & fresh and were fried to a beautiful golden color; they were crisp on the outside & soft on the inside. One of my biggest pet peeves is fries that are fried too hard. The cheesesteak was SO good that I commented on now how I wished we had ordered 2, 1 for each of us so my husband asked if I wanted another 1 for dinner and of course I said yes. The gentleman that cooked our sandwich had left the grill area but was still in the restaurant so I approached him & confirmed that he was in fact the person that prepared our food. I complimented him on the food and told him how we eat Impossible everything from everywhere and that this was the best we've had to date. This man was getting off work and was about to leave but he overheard us talking about getting another one and asked us if we wanted him to make it. Do you know he went and washed his hands and got right on it. This time I DID take a picture but it was just the sandwich, no fries because I was full and it was for later so of course they would've been cold by the time I got ready to eat. They only have Salmon on Friday's so my husband ended up ordering the Jerk Fettuccini Alfredo (they do offer this with chicken but we're Pescatarian so he ordered it with no meat). Even though his food was for later too, he finished it off before I thought to take any pictures. I did taste it though; DELICIOUS!!! It was really spicy. We use Walkerswood MILD seasoning when we cook so I would say the pasta is equivalent to that of their spicy version (which I have had in the past). I do have 2 regrets regarding this place, 1-that we just found out about it and 2-it's a good little ways from my house, otherwise; I'd definitely be there at least 3 times a week. As it is, I will add this gem of a spot as a weekly stop.
Let me back up to add a 1st Impression outlook; we were pleasantly surprised by the sheer size, which led way to ample, well thought out seating including regular height, as well as high top table & chair sets. The temperature was even at a comfortable setting. Most restaurants are unusually cold or uncomfortably warm. There was even music playing at a decent level and a large flat screen in place but was not playing at the time.
The staff was so courteous and professional, from the welcome we received when we walked in to the "thank you" for coming and the invite to come back in the future.
I read in another review that this place is owned & operated by a family local to the Riverdale area. Based on our observation of the staff while we were there, I can see that being the case. They all seemed cheerful and happy and were laughing, joking and singing amongst themselves (all while maintaining professionalism might I add).
Again, I can't wait to try several other menu items.
Kudos to whoever came up with the concept & menu of this establishment.

      Where's The Sauce???
So I've eaten here several times now and the food has always been on point. On our last visit my Husband had the BUBBA SPARXX Pulled BBQ Sandwich and it was DELICIOUS!!! I generally don't care for jackfruit but with this version dripping in the swag of the bbq sauce (which tasted like they marinate for a LONG time) it was so good it'll make you wanna "slap yo mama" so I decided to order it yesterday. I don't know if they ran out of sauce or what but my sandwich BARELY had any on it. I'm a one and done kinda person so once I have a bad experience with something, I generally don't order it again. That being said, I'll probably stick to the 3 STACK Cauliflower Tacos, which are THA BOMB!

      Where's the Sauce???
      Um! Where's the Sauce????

I stopped going to P.F. Chang's a little over a year ago when my Hubby and I decided to go Vegan. We recently switched to Pescatarian and I had a taste for Calamari; this has always been my go to spot for it but we usually go to the Cumberland location. Due to the braves game we decided to go to the Perimeter Mall area location. My husband ordered the veggie lettuce wraps (with tofu) and I ordered the calamari. The first 1 I ate was fine but every other one had some weird "strings" in it. I questioned our server who sent the manager over, I questioned him and he just said he didn't know what it was but did offer to replace it with a fresh batch, which I promptly declined. He then offered to remove it from our bill. This was my last time EVER eating at P.F. Chang's. I was SO disappointed in my food. The server however, was excellent.

After discovering this new spot here on Yelp a few days ago I mentioned it to my husband. Yesterday, to my surprise he suggested we stop by for brunch, so of course I took him up on his offer. Considering they close at 4 on Sunday's I figured the crowd should've died down by this time, as it was after 2:30. Walking in we were not surprised at all by the interior layout, decor, etc, as we had seen pictures via the yelp reviews; everything was exactly as pictured. I like the ambiance here in that it's the type of place where you could dress up or down and it would be okay either way. My husband and I like to sit side by side so once I requested a booth I was advised that there would be about a 20 minute wait. The wait was just that but we were walked to a 2 top table at which point I reminded the hostess that we requested a booth; fortunately one was available. Now here is where the problems begin. After waiting for our food for about 45 minutes, our server stated she would go check on it only to come back to tell us that for some reason our ticket didn't get printed. So after another 15-20 minutes passes our food finally comes out. I had the French toast, which was delicious, but barely room temperature. My husband had the jalapeño cheese grits, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and veggie sausage. The main issue with his food is that it didn't come out all at the same time. In fact, his biscuits NEVER even came out. The server realized at some point that he never got them & said she would go get em but he wanted them to eat with his veggie sausage so at that point he told her to just take it off the ticket. She replied saying that would be no problem but insisted that she would get the biscuits for him to go because of our wait only to come back with the check and to tell us that they didn't have any more. We were sitting near the open kitchen and observed several things; quite a bit of food was wasted, as we saw several waffles, as well as other food, being thrown away (for reasons unbeknownst to us). We also saw that after waiting for what seemed an eternity for our food due to the missing ticket fiasco, they prepared our entire order a 2nd time. They could've at least offered us the veggie sausage at that point, as I'm going to guess that it doesn't get ordered frequently. At some point towards the end of our meal, the hostess, who I believe stated she was also the manager, came over & asked how everything was, at which point we mentioned the issue with our ticket not getting printed & the fact that we noticed several people that had been seated after us received their food while we were still waiting for ours. She did apologize for the situation and said she hoped we'd come back in the future with the promise that this wouldn't happen again. Now here is where dealing with small independent establishments differ from larger and/or corporate owned establishments. Having worked in the restaurant business in the past, I know that had this happened at any well known or corporate owned restaurant, our entire ticket would have been "comped". I definitely wasn't expecting that considering we were dealing with a small black owned establishment, however; you would think they would've offered SOMETHING other than just an apology.. They could've offered us complimentary drinks as we both had water with lemon (because we don't drink soda, tea, or alcohol; but they didn't know that). They could've said if you give us a second chance and come back we'll give you xx% off your entire ticket; hell it could've been 10% off which is nothing really but at least they would've been offering some type of incentive to actually come back. So to recap, the wait to be seated wasn't too bad. The wait in which it took someone to come to our table to take our drink then subsequently food order wasn't too bad. The actual wait time for our food to arrive was UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! The food itself was good as far as taste but they need to work on time execution as it was not hot. The potatoes were barely seasoned. All in all I will not be going back to this establishment because my time is valuable. If anybody asks me about my experience I can't say I would recommend it. I'm familiar with Gocha from a couple of reality tv shows but that was not the reason for us patronizing the establishment. It is however great to see her venture out with endeavors other than beauty/hair related, but seeing her there (she seemed somewhat frustrated often seen shaking her head as if something was wrong) it appeared she may be overwhelmed. A kitchen manager might do the trick. Supposedly, when you know better you do better; hopefully somebody there will come across this review and God forbid this happen again to someone else, they'll rectify the situation better. Good customer service is as, if not more, important as good food for a food based business.
