      First to Review

I first enter the store to find the staff sitting on the counter like they are having a party. I get the eye roll as I walk in with a Journey's bag to attempt to return something. The scrawny tall kid behind the counter has instant attitude as if I just broke up his social scene and actually doing his job is a complete inconvenience. Then he opens up the box and immediately says you can't return these, all the while completely patronizing me, because they have specs of dirt on the soles. So I asked why and he said they are worn and he tries to tell everyone to try them on and walk around in them as much as possible. What? The store is like 100 square feet packed with people. Where are you going to walk? AND nobody ever said that. So, ok, I can handle that. BUT then I asked to speak to the manager and the punk scrawny kid calls him on his cell phone. The manager gets on the phone and says we can't take them back. I said, but you haven't seen them. Then he continues to patronize me and talk to me as if I'm a kid (like his UNTRAINED staff due to his poor leadership skills). All the while the scrawny kid is talking over me, loudly, at the same time his manager is talking being completely rude. I will never ever ever shop here again. The best thing about this entire situation is I made a formal complaint with corporate on the two of them AND I got my money back from corporate. So, if the arrogant sales personnel at this store will not let you return merchandise you should get their names and call corporate. They will file a complaint for you and let you return your item for your money back. Is this how they keep customers? Someone needs leadership training. POOR!! BEWARE!!

I recently moved to the Fairfax area and stumbled upon this place as I was looking for an after school program for my daughter for this coming year. I went ahead and paid for the package to take unlimited classes all summer. I couldn't be more pleased. They are so welcoming and even my daughter loves it!! Master Dietrich is very patient and warm with the kids. The assistants are nice too. They also offer classes at the same time for adults (kickboxing/karate) and kids. As a single parent this is the best!!! I can take my daughter to do something fun, motivating and good exercise and I can get some needed stress relieving exercise taught by Ms. Smith (the blonde that the other people are referring to). She is great! She is patient with me as I'm fairly new to kickboxing. She teaches me the right way to do the kicks and punches and never makes me feel like I'm not catching on quick enough. Not to mention, this workout is killer! It's fast paced, good music, great motivation, and a lot of sweat! I'm not kidding, after her class I feel like a new woman. I feel powerful! I love it! All the students in the class are also very welcoming and helpful. It feels like family. Like a sense of camaraderie, similar to how I felt in the military. Also, I have to travel for work a lot and if I miss a few classes I am treated the same, no guilt trips. They still welcome me back. I have felt out of place at other places and this place makes everyone feel like they can accomplish anything. They teach kids about healthy eating, manners, confidence... you name it. My daughter (me too) needs all these things and I think I need Dietrich's more than they need me. I look forward to before and after care this school year for my daughter (yes, they have before and after). I think it will be her best year ever.
PS - My daughter now asks to eat veggies every night because Master D told her how healthy they are. It doesn't get better than that.
