I've actually been there several times as I wanted to give it a chance after seeing so many good reviews. To start with, every time has been mediocre to poor service. Either standing at the front while there were plenty of open tables being ignored by the staff to getting the order wrong or seating other people at my table while I was still waiting for one more to show up (I get family style, but that is ridiculous). I also have always seem to get servers who either have an attitude or just love to scowl at me like I'm some monster who's come to eat their children. Really haven't experienced this type of terrible service much in the Bay Area.

Then to the food. They make decent pho. I say decent because it is better than a lot of the other local places (some of which are quite bad), but there is absolutely nothing special about it. Flavor is uninspiring and instead of feeling like a warm bowl of love it's more like a lukewarm bath that's already been bathed in. I also tried their garlic noodles and shaking beef (a favorite of mine at another restaurant that I frequent) and once again, they took a dish that's supposed to be amazing and turned it into just plain jane food to stuff in your mouth and not think twice about. Oh yeah, and it's all grossly overpriced to really rub it in your face.

I honestly don't get what all the raves are about and I am generally easy to please. Not going back to Ben Tre again...
