My daughter and I loved Forman's. We devoured our salads and loved the roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon as an appetizer. Very Friendly, helpful staff, great woodsy-hunters cabin atmosphere. Healthy and delicious selections on the menu. Highly recommend it for a casual, yet gastronomically fulfilling meal

If you want the best veterinarian care for your dog, or cat, this is the place to go. I took Dr Spancake and his staff for granted, not realizing how good they are for dogs who are scared to death to visit the vet, until I went to a different practice when Doc was on holiday.
I think most dogs are nervous about visiting the vet. The absolute last thing your dog needs is an overly-excited, loud, squeaky, high-pitched welcome from a stranger who clearly knows nothing about dog psychology. I'm speaking of the assistant who greeted us after we sat down at this other vet's office. This woman actually barreled straight towards my 120 LB German Shepherd, hands out and squealing while putting her face down to his face.
Here's a newsflash folks. If you want your face bitten off while a leashed German Shepard is alone with his owner, do what she did. In fact many different breeds and types of dogs would interpret that as an aggressive advance on him, or far worse, on his owner. Some dogs could care less but my big guy just isn't one of those dogs, especially in a strange place that makes him unsure and insecure to begin with....and where he can smell hundreds of other dogs.
So I thought to myself why is this woman working with dogs if she doesn't understand dogs on any level. And why would a veterinarian hire people that are clueless and frankly who can put themselves in danger.
Answer? Because they too are clueless. At least clueless about how dogs, who are animals btw, interpret their world. They are not humans. They won't understand this stranger is just trying to be extra friendly, the way I/us can understand. As annoying as it was I knew she meant well. My dog however sees it as a challenge, one he will gladly take on. Luckily I know this and prevented any reaction from my dog because I know my dog.
Thankfully when Dr Spancake returned, I brought my dog back to see him and "wow" what a difference. His staff was quiet, calm, didn't even address my dog (good move!) but rather stayed behind their work counter and gave me, not my dog, a peaceful friendly greeting. When it was my turn to see Doc I wanted to give him a big hug and kiss and tell him how happy I was that he was my vet, but that would just be weird. I did share my experience with him and did praise his work and staff. After all he should know how grateful his patients are.
Dr S. Has never let me down; he has always given me the best advice and care. And he doesn't get in my dogs face to say hello!!!
      On Another Note:
If Doctor S. wasn't a veterinarian I told him he should be a plastic surgeon. I had TWO different shepherds who needed large golf ball-sized benign tumors (one dog) and large grape-sized cysts (on the other dog years later) surgically removed from the tops of their heads. I know, what are the chances? Anyway it required shaved heads and massive incisions with sutures that criss-crossed across their beautiful heads. After the first dog's surgery When it was time to retrieve her from his office I thought aloud "OMG it's Frankenstein!!" as she greeted me post surgery. It was grotesque looking and shocking. I thought for sure he disfigured my dog and she would be scarred for life, thus destroying her perfect, gorgeous head.
Well, a week later her glaring white scalp began to grow-in black stubble. About 10 days post-op her sutures were removed. A few weeks following that her fur had completely grown back into its full, shiny black coat and there were zero scars visible. I'd even run my fingers back and forth across her head trying to find scar lines hidden beneath her fur. There were ZERO. She healed as if nothing had ever been cut off of her head. I was truly amazed. I've seen face lifts on humans where the plastic surgeon cut into the scalp to lift the cheeks. Dime-sized scars formed at the temples where the scalp was cut. The hair never grew back after the incisions healed and it never will. That's unacceptable! My vet could do a better job....and he did.

Beautiful Shadow post-op and fully healed.

Philter has, put simply, the best coffee in the world. After my coffee experience in Italy I thought I could never go back to bland, burnt-tasting coffee served at popular coffee joints. Luckily I discovered Philter and do I dare say they may have actually surpassed Rome's espresso? If not they certainly matched it. I do know this for sure, when your two teen-aged kids rave about their laté with words like "smooth and velvety", it's got to be something special. The kids were right! Philter does not serve your average cup of coffee. They've got it down to a perfect science, the way coffee should be made but usually isn't. As a result, Philter is a coffee Nirvana.
