Had a few great experiences here. Food is excellent. The homemade pita and Za'tar is worth coming here for alone (which I've actually done for takeout). Some of the sampler meals are big enough to be split among two people so that and an appetizer could keep your costs down. Live belly dancing on weekends too.
Very poor communication between the desk staff and Dr. Pace has most likely ended my patronage here as a patient. Sometimes you wish you could explain something to the DR. him/herself rather than going through the front desk staff who often doesn't understand. It's frustrating.
I had an opposite experience of the initial reviewer. In 2012 I was taken in here and my concerns were addressed. I've been to much nicer Dr's offices with flat screen TVs and leather couches but that's not nearly what we're looking for when we go to a Dr.
Her office is in an old 1970's style building with 1970's style furnishings. I never spend too much time in the waiting room though and she spends a significant amount of time listening to and addressing my concerns, even when one was an orthopedic concern.
As the previous reviewer stated, Rheums aren't easy to come by in the Valley and Dr. Pace is the only one in Tempe. I get reminder calls before the day of my appointment, my pharmacist can handle dealing with the Dr's office for refills so that I don't have to call and waiting time in the sitting room is minimal.
Unfortunately she is not on my new insurance plan so I either have to pay cash or find a different Dr.
Being an Uber driver is a good way to find ethnic restaurants that are recommendable, particularly if you drive students around to and from ASU. I was told I needed to leave Tempe to find good Chinese food. There are enough Asian people dining in here to know this place must be pretty authentic. Food is very good with some menu items I'm not accustomed to seeing at other Chinese restaurants.
This place has limited seating and the confines are tight. Service can also be very, very poor.
I once waited 45 minutes for an entree and although the Cumin Lamb was very good, it took 45 minutes to receive. Some servers also don't speak very good English and the drink menu is very limited.
I'd eat here again but I'd probably avoid going on a weekend.
Some of the best places can be found in some of the oddest locations, in this case a very nondescript strip mall on Baseline and Extension in Mesa. I live on baseline and didn't know this parking lot existed until I searched out this place. According to the menu the owner was actually a chef in China. Okay I'm sold.
Portions are overly large, the food is good, but here's the kicker...their lunch specials are served 7 days a week. That means you can go in and get a $5.95 lunch special with a side of pork fried rice, an egg roll and soup any day of the week.
Food is quality and good Chinese cuisine is hard to find in the Valley. As a native NYer, I appreciate that.
Dollar street tacos on Taco Tuesday that are highly recommendable. Tuesday gets crazy in here during lunchtime and dinner to 8:30. More flavors used to be offered (like marinated chicken) but now it's limited to chicken, al pastor and carnitas. Burritos are also very good but avoid chips and salsa as the chips are almost always overcooked and not worth the price. Plenty of parking too and like the Chandler location, both are a short distance from the highway exits.
