    I realize that asking many of the lefties on here to read this and actually think far beyond the "people magazine" depth of analysis that you give when trying to develop your political viewpoints.  But, try to move beyond the fact that we have gloriously elected the first black president....who is so thin and handsome and looks absolutely fantastic in a suit  and speaks so eloquently and take a look at who he really is and who is surrounds himself with.

    In all seriousness though, I don't think Obama is the second coming, but I voted for him because he was the lesser of two evils.  The republicans or conservatives, whatever you wanna call yourselves, lost the election because you all keep picking bad candidates who pander to ignorant religious zealots.  The village can not adjust village life to suit the village idiot.  If the republicans would pick a good candidate who respects the separation of church and state, I would consider voting for her/him.  Until then, I pray for your children!

    Thomas....guy... did you even read the article that i put up???  i know that all of you who criticize me didn't even read it.  I'm really amazed that you guys have zero interest or curiosity when it comes to Obama and the advisors he has.  I do not give a damn about stirring up controversy on here, and i do not post simply to get people pissed off.  I post because i'm amazed at the fact that the American people act like this guy is the second coming, and they don't have a clue as to what he is all about.  You call me an asshole and post stupid shit essentially calling my wife a transexual just to piss me off....but can you actually gather enough intelligence in that mind of yours to actually read something about the background of the people that are running this country and decide for yourself whether Obama is really the guy you thought he was.

    well...at least you had a decent response and didn't resort to calling me an asshole.  I don't totally disagree with you.  The candidates on the right have been very, very weak.  I didn't like Bush and i didn't like McCain at all.  While i think Palin is a very good woman with solid values, there is no way that she was V.P. material.

    The 2010 mid-term elections will be an interesting indicator on Obama's policies.  I also have to remind myself that the Bay Area often lives in a dark Blue political bubble that with some issues is isolated from the rest of the Country.  I saw that big time in Iowa last summer.  You know, the State that sent Obama on its way and where gay marriage is legal, where in California it's not.

    As far as Obama's birth certificate goes, the State of Hawaii has stipulated to it twice and both State newspapers printed his birth announcement.  That's good enough for me.  Conner, you seem to disagree that Obama has the right to defend himself legally?  It's none of our damn business and I'd do the same if I were in his shoes.

    Eric the short form is so easy to fabricate....the long form birth certificate cannot be easily fabricated since it lists the hospital, the doctor, time of birth.  If he could come out and simply provide that and basically say "fuck all of you right wingers"  here's my long form bc that you have asked for...why wouldn't he do that??  And you don't think that for on of the most powerful positions in the whole world that people will do anything to protect him?  Look at some as benign as this posting.  I simply post an article on here asking people to read it, and find out what he is really about and look at how everyone reacts....they don't even read it and then disparage me as best they can.  Just imagine what people close to him do to protect him and their interest.  don't be so naive.

    I actually read all of this and it doesn't bear any resemblance to a factual article. All of the assertions made by the author are based on conjecture and offering the surface of a fact and then alluding to their own viewpoint. This is what the conservative press like Glen Beck does. They offer fact, and present a question as a conclusion, and then defy the audience to prove them wrong. This is not the basis of a rational argument. Its sensationalism, and its the last effort of the dying philosophy. If you want to prove your side with fear than I feel sorry for you. The reason why Obama was elected in a landslide is because America is tired of fearmongering. We're tired of being afraid of everything and want someone committed to making our lives better, not creating a culture of fear to protect us from.

    So on behalf of everyone tired of basing policies on fear, shut the hell up and take the minority role you have. We're tired of it, grown ups want to run the world now.

    And why would the birth announcements appear in the both local papers if he wasn't born here?

    What concerns me the most about the whole "birther" stuff is this and the other attempts to show that Obama is "illegitimate".  Using Obama's middle name purposely is another example of trying to prove illegitimacy.  This leads to things like a recent pulled NewsMax posting where certain Conservatives were speculating about a military coup or the recent pulled Facebook Quiz about whether folks favoured assassination.  Apparently to some, it's not enough to disagree with the guy's policies.  But showing illegitimacy makes things easier to act on to some.

    If McCain had chosen Ron Paul and Obama had chosen someone Palin-esque...we'll just call her stir fried stupidity, I would have voted for McCain.  Actually, I don't love Biden.  If McCain hadn't lowered himself during the campaign and hadn't trashed on research as wasteful spending and had chosen Ron Paul, I probably still would have voted for him.

    We never have any good debate on these threads because people like Connor just come in and post inflammatory crap to get a rise out of people.  They never post anything with the intent of fostering real discussion.  Connor, why are you so bored?  I think a well administered blow job from a young Asian man would really clear things up for you.

    eric im not saying i think he was born in Kenya...im just wondering why he is trying so hard from letting people see his real bc.  but i agree...the real issue should be his policies and who he surrounds himself him.  It's the same as saying you are who your friends are.  And that should be applied to Obama.  Of course he is not going to come out and say, "I disagree with capitalism and all it stands for.  I believe in marxist policies and that we should tax the fuck out of "rich" to provide for the poor".

    Supply side economics under Reagan and Bush 43 ran up some large deficits and I don't see the Tea Party folks keying on that.  And by Berkeley standards, Obama's policies haven't yet begun to bring on the Socialist "dream".

    I do accept that there is an honest difference of political opinion between liberals and conservatives on the role of government in society.  And throwing the word Socialist around like it's supposed to scare people doesn't even impress my parents who are pretty centralist folks.

    Paul, I'm not a bigot.  I used to be a republican and I'm a fiscal conservative.  The credit card is maxxed out and government needs to stop spending money.  But I won't vote for any republican candidate who feels that it's OK to deny homosexuals equal rights because of their religious beliefs.  There should be no marriages recognized by the government, only civil unions.  Marriage is between two people and their god and the government has no place being involved.  Until the republicans dump the religious base they won't get my vote.

    i dont have a birth certificate. infact. the place i was born do not give them out nor do they amke anyone of them. things may have changed since, but when i was born in 77, they didnt. maybe im not american....

    but the place i was born, fort campbell kentucky, home of the 101st airbone where my father was serving, did give out birth cards.

    But I am back and I see not much has changed.  Joey Pickles is still as low IQ as ever and all screwed up over being half white and half Asian.  He has this hate thing on for white people that I rarely (never) see from other yelpers.

    Obama is the most carefully managed President in history.  His handlers have him vacuum sealed 24/7.  Everything is managed.  The one thing that cannot be managed away is his total lack of competence and ability to do anything.  He is an MTV cartoon.  The guy wasn't even good as a radical.  He sucked at the job he had, which was giving away other people's money when he and his pal Ayers were on that charity board together.  The Great One was a con law lecturer for 10 years and could not make professor.  Somehow he got his sorry ass into Harvard Law (I think I know how), got himself on the law review - never wrote an article like you are supposed to do and was made president of the LR when the factions on the LR could not agree on anyone else - they gave it to the innocuous smiley guy who liked to smoke weed.
