Hey folks. On red rocks website it clearly states no charcoal grills and no alcohol can be brought in and used at tailgate parties. However, every time I go to red rocks there are tons of people out drinking and grilling. What gives? Do they just not enforce that or do a lot of people have their beer confiscated and we just don't hear about it?

  1. I think it's some of both. A lot of folks try to push the envelope, and sometimes, they end up with a paper cut. At the same time, with that much volume they can't get 'em all.

Yep they have porta pots in the lots now. And they do patrol for charcoal grills. You can get a little gas hibachi grill for $20, they work great. We always have to loan ours out at RR when people around us get their charcoal grills shut down.

If you're doing the "1-2 stagger" in a liquor store, it's prolly gonna be a rough night...

    Funny stuff.

Danny..if that is a concern, you should consider parking at the upper lot near the visitor center. Not much of a climb to get to your seats (except down). Of course, you will have to get back up there which could be a bit of work depending on where you sit, but at least there is no pre-concert workout/buzzkill.

The last show I went to at Redrocks I actually did some tailgating and brought a six pack. Didn't catch any flack, actually borrowed a bottle opener from the group down the way...cause Redrocks is that chill!

Hey thanks guys. I was busy yesterday and didn't get to check in. I think we'll bring some beers and guitars tonight and just chill out for a couple hours pre-show. All I have is a portable charcoal grill so we'll skip grilling. Thanks a bunch!

Danny, that's why you pack a few beers for the walk up.  It's important to stay hydrated.

Parking in the upper lot is for suckers because it takes an hour to get out of the lot, post-show.  I always park near a lower lot, along the road for an easy escape.

Ahhh Red Rocks. The single best venue in this state to see a show hands down. I have seen many, many shows there in my day. and have done a LOT of partying pre-show, during-show and post-show. I have never been asked to pour out any booze and have never been harassed by any officers for tailgating. I have never grilled there though, only drank and partied. I love that place! I agree with Danny though, those stairs will kill your buzz! LOL

The security however blows a bag of penises. If you see a very masculine blonde woman, gladly punch her in the face for me. I have been wanting to do that since Saturday evening.

Shouldn't be a problem, as I regularly punch masculine blonde women in the face.
